A TOP LOCALIZATION 11~ECHAMISM QF BELL FOLDING
TENT ~~.AME
BACKGROUND OF THE IriVENTION
1. 1~ield of the Invention
The present invention relates to a tent, and more particularly to an
unntbrella-style top ,
localization mechanism of bell folding tent frame.
Z. Description of Prior Art
In accordance with the conventional bell tent in umbrella-style, as shown in
Fig. 1, a
top rib-hub 1 is set upon the central tip end hinging to radial foldable rib
set 2 including sey-
eral folding member bars in each, said member bars in each foldable rib set 2
are connected
by connectors ono by one for facilitating to fold-up. Said tvp rib-hub 1 is
fixed on the tip end
of a pole 3, on which a low sliding rib-hub 4 is Ot in moving connection, a
radial struts 5 are
used for connecting the low sliding rib-hub 4 to the first segment of the
folding rib set 2 in
hinging connection with the both ends respeefiively. A spring 6 is put on the
stem of the pole 3
and set up between said top static rib-hub 1 and said law sliding rib-huh 4,
so that the spring 6
is in compression state as folding up, and as pitching up the tent, the radial
rib set 2 is braced
up under the restoring force of the spring 6 automatically.
But in this case, the pole 3 and said struts 5 and the low sliding rib-ttub 4
are below
the foldable rib set 2 and covered in the inside occupying a certai» space of
the tent so that the
real valid space of the tent is red.
Referring to Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, another prior art is shown, in which the tap
static rib-
hub 1 is located an the central top hinged wig the sauts 5, the pole 3 is
connected to the bot-
tom side of the top static rib-hub 1 with the tip end in dead joint, as the
same the low sliding
rib-hub 4 is fit on the pole 3 in moving connection, said low sliding rib-hub
4 is used for hing-
ing to the radial foldable rib set 2 including several folding member bars in
each, said member
bats in each foldable rib set 2 are connected by connectors one by one for
facilitating to fold-
up. And the outer end of said struts 5 is hinged on the first segment of the
foldable rib set Z.
Spring 6 is put on the stem of the pole 3 and set up between said top static
rtb hub 1 and said
low sliding rib-hub 4, so that the spring 6 is always in stretching stabs
whatever the tent is
pitched up or stroke up. On the other hand, an elastic pawl 7 is built upon
the pole 3 ap-
proaching to the bottom end, coordinating to it, the low sliding rib-hub 4 has
a locking hole
41 drilled a~n the low portion for catching up said elastic pawl 7 to locate
the low sliding rib-
hub 4 on the pole 3.

CA 02549210 2006-04-27
As the same, as folding up, just need to press down the elastic pawl 7 locking
on the
locking hole 41 of the low sliding rib-hub 4 lightly to release the lock so
that the low sliding
rib-hub 4 can be pushed up closing all the radial foldable rib sets 2 to the
pole 3; as pitching
up the tent &sme, just need to pull down the low sliding rib-hub 4 along the
pole 3 until the
locking hole 41 of the low sliding rib.~hub 4 is launched by the elastic pawl
7, meanwhile co-
operating to the struts 5 hinged or the top static rib-hub 1, all tht radial
toldable rib sets 2 are
braced up. So the bell tit is to be pitched up or folded up easily and simply,
and the pitch-up
tent is so stable under the supporting corning from the struts 5, and the use
function is fully
brought up. On the other hand, the main supporting framework composed of the
foldable rib
IO sets 2 is below the struts 5, so that the pitch-up tent has a smoo~ inside
surface in a full dome,
and evidentially bigger space.
According to above description, we can find shorteorning existing in the
conventional
bell folding tent, such as because said spring 6 i5 Set up between the top
static rib-hub 1 and
the law sliding rib-hub 4, and fixed on them with the both ends respectively,
as in folding
state, the low sliding rlb-hub 4 is pulled up so close to the top end by the
spring 6 that the user
needs to exert bigger force to pull it down overcoming the elastic force of
the spring 6 unfiil
the locking hale 41 is launched by the elastic pawl 7 as tending to pitching
it up, therefore this
ion will bring to inconvenient to the user.

OBTECTS AND SLTLvnI~IARY OF THE TN'V~NTION
It is therefore a main object of the pmesent invention to provide a top
localization
mechanism of bell folding tent that not only provides a bigger inner space,
but also facilitates
to operate in pitch-up process saving labor.
For aehievirig the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides a
resolution,
in which a top static rib-hub is sot upon the tip center of the frame, and
hinged to radial struts
respectively, and fixed on the tip end of a pole holding a low sliding rib-hub
on the stem ver-
tically, and said low sliding rib-hub is hinged to a proper number of radial
foldable rib sets;
wherein, said pole has a hollow inner and two opposite guide slots, thereby
setting a slider in
the inner hollow of the pole, a set pin penetrates through the slider and said
opposite guide
slots to be fixed on the low sliding rib-hub with the both ends; a spring is
set up in the hollow
inner of the pole between the top static rib-hub and the slider, and is in
compression state as
folding up the tent Frame.
Said pole has a location mechanism at the lower portion for locating the low
sliding
rih-hub on,
As utili~ng above-mentioned project, due to the struts on upper and the main
frame-
work on below, the pitch-up tent appears to smooth inner surface in a full
dome with a bigger
space. And because the spring is in compression state as the tart is in
folding state, the low
sliding rib-hub is located on a lower position under balance force corning
from the spring, so
that the user just need to hold two radial foldable rib sets to shake
slightly, the low sliding rib
hub will slide down under the restoring force coming from the spring to spread
all the radial
foldable rib sets out, in this arne, just pull the low sliding rib hub down
continuously sliding
along the pole lightly to get the locking position so that the elastic pawl
launches into the
lacking hole in lock state, meanwhile the whole tent frame is pitched up
completely, the all
operation is easy and simple.

DETAILED DESCItIPTIDN OF PREFERRED EM$ODTMENTS
Referring to Fig, 4 and Fig, S, a top localization mechanism of bell folding
tent 1i'arne
provided by the present invention is shown, in which a top static rib-bub 1 is
located on the
top center of the whale framework hinged with radial struts 5, a pole 3 is
connected to the
bottom side of the top static rib-hub 1 with the tip end in dead joint
vertically, a low sliding
rib-hub 4 is fit on the pole 3 in moving connection, said low sliding rib-hub
4 is used for hing-
ing to the radial foldable rib set Z including several folding member bars in
each, said member
bars in each foldable rib set 2 are connected by connectors one by one for
facilitating to fold-
up.
A spring 6 is set up between the top static rib-hub 1 and the sliding rib-hub
4, and is
in compression state as folding up the tent frame,
Wherein, said pole 3 has a hollow inner and two opposite guide slots 31,
thereby set-
ting a slider 32 in the inner hollow of the pole 3, a set pin 33 penetrates
through the slider 32
and said opposite guide slots 31 to be fixed on the low sliding rib-hub 4 with
the bath ends;
the spring fi is set up in the hollow inner o.f the pole 3 between the top
static rib-hub 1 and the
slider 32.
On the other hand, said pole 3 has a location mechanism at the lower portion
for lo-
cating the low sliding rib-hub 4 on, said location mechanism can be an elastic
hook set A, in
which a pawl 7 is extended out frnm a hole of the pole 3 approaching the
bottom side, and
coordinating to it, the low sliding rib-hub 4 has a locking hole 41 drilled on
the law portion
for catching up said elastic pawl 7 to locate the low sliding rib-hub 4 on the
pole 3, far facili-
tating to release the pawl 7, a button 42 is built upon the outside of the
locking hole 41 facing
to it exactly.
Because the spring 6 is in compression state as the tent is in folding state,
the low
sliding rib~hub 4 is located on a lower position under balance force coming
from the spring 6,
so that the user just need to hold iwo radial foldable rib sets to shake
slightly, the low sliding
rib-hub 4 will slide down under the restoring force coming from the spring 6
to spread all the
radial foldable rib sets 2 out, in this time, just pull the low sliding rib-
hub 4 down continu-
ously sliding along the pole 3 lightly to get the locking position so that the
elastic pawl 7
launches into the locking hole 41 in lock state, meanwhile the whole tent
frame is pitched up
completely, the all operation is easy and simple.
