English Abstract

Abstract of the disclosure.
This safety razor, mainly, consists of a handle mem-
ber shaped like an arc of a parabola, which acts, at one end,
as the griping portion of the said safety razor.
Within the surface of the other end, a longitudinal
base channel acts as fastening member of the handle member.
The exterior plate, assembled to the interior plate
with the razor blade in between and in a flat position, is
connected to the longitudinal base channel of the handle mem-
ber by means of its fastening members.
The alternative use of both edges of the old fashion
razor blade has been eliminated: the use of the traditional
double edge razor blade is limited, always and only, to the
use of one edge of the razor blade at a time, and, besides
that, the blade edge makes an angle with the plane normal
to the direction in which the safety razor is flowing.
The razor blade flows parallel to the face surface:
in this way the cut of the beard is done by the safety ra-
zor's blade at a 90° angle with the beard.

ack~round of the invention.
~he present invention concerns the safety razors9 more `~
precisely~ a new type of safety ra~or, whose revolutionary
design modifies and improves~ almos-t perfectly~ the cutting
of the beard~ with respect to the traditional safe-ty razors9
and~ consequently~ allows for the best utilization of the
razor blade (up -to and over two hundred fiPty shaves per
blade) with the complete elimina-tion of the skin irritation.
Various types of safety razors have been proposed IA ' '
commercially in the past fifty years, but~ up to now9 none
of these has confronted nor resolved~ completely9 the prob-
lem of -the perfect shave without skin irritation and allow-
ing the ma~imum possible use of the same blade. -
~he attempt wa~always~ to turn the problem around:
in fact there has been a cons-tant improvemenb of the alloy
steel of the raæor blades, as well as new hot and cold
manufacturing processes.
Recently, a brand new twin blade razor has been
created and the extensive use of teflon coated blades has
been popularized.
Undoubtedly~ it has achieved excellent results~ but~ ;`
even S07 it has never faced or resolved the old fashion system
of shaving~ which is the most illogical and irrational sy~tem
thab could exis-t, nevertheless~ it has been accepted world
wide by many generations, to the best advantage, naturally, ;
of the razor blade's manufacturers.
The main object of the present invention is to pre-
sent a new and revolutionary safety razor with completely new
characteristics of the shave~ in which all the defects of ~ -
today's safety razors have been reduced or completely elimi-
nated~ including~ mainly, the irrational cutting of the beard7
which is accompanied by the irritation of the skin, more or -

less pronounced.
In ~act, this safety razor, in accordance with the
present invention~ is disting~ishable from similar safety
razors~ presently on the market~ by :
1) the shaving of the beard is done by the safety razor's
blade plaoed at a 90 angle Nith the beard;
2) the alternative use of both edges of the razor blade has
been eliminated~ according to the safety razor's revolutionary
shape. ~he use of the double edge razor blade, in this safety
razor7 is limited always and only to the use of one edge of
the razor blade at a time
In fact~ in the old fashion safety razors~ presently
on the market~ the cutting of the beard is done in an irra-
tional manner~ due to the blade being placed in the worst
conditions: a small cutting angle between the razor blade
and the beard~ and wrong position of the razor blade with
respec-t to the direction in which the razor is flowing.
~ecently~ it has been attempted to increase the cutting ;~
angle by bending the blade as much as possible between the two
plates of the razor: in such cases~ the blade of the safety
razor la¢erates and tears the hairs of the beard~ bu-t~ mainly~
quickly sel-f-des-troys the edge of the blade.
As a result of this cut, the user gets a more or
less pronounced irritation of the facial skin. -~
The new safety razor, in accordance with the present
invention~ is distinguishable among the number of the safety
razors~ presently on the market~ from its exterior plate~ very
thin~ that flows parallel to the face surface: thus the safety
ra~or's blade works at its best by cutting the beard at a 90
angle~ As the blade of this safety razor is inclined like the !~ I .,
blade oP the guillotine~ the for¢e required to cut the hairs
of the beard is reduced to a minimurn~ therefore the cut is
clean and precise without any irritation of the facial skin.
~he blade of this safety razor~ cutting under better
conditions~ last~ much longer and is able to shave up to and

over two hundred fif-ty beards per traditional old fashion
double edge razor blade.
It v~ also~ be underætood that the USG of the
double edge raæor blade in this brand new safety razor~ in ;
accordance with its revolutionary shape~ is limited always
and only to the use of one edge of the razor blade at a time~
~ he above mentioned reasons have demonstrated why
the present invention differs from the other ones on the
market and~ also~ the utility of this invention.
The described safety razor is composed exclusively `
of three parts~ plus~ of course~ the regular old fashion
double edge razor blade~ which has been on the market for
over half a century.
Summary of the invention. -
:i;, :,
~roadly~ this safety razor, in accordance with the
present invention~ consists of a handle member shaped like
an arc of a circle or an arc of a parabola~ having~ at one ~ -
end~ -the griping portion of the said safety ra~or. ~;
Within the sur-face of the other end, a longitudinal
base slot acts as the fastening member (female) of the handle
member and it is to be connected to the fastening members
(male) of the exterior plate.
The exterior plate9 assembled to the interior plate -
with the razor blade in between and in a flat position~ is
connected to the fastening member of the longitudinal base
slot o-f the handle member by means of its two fastening mem- ~;
bers (male).
~he al-ternative use of both edges of the old fashion
razor blade has been eliminated: the use of the traditional
double edge razor blade is limited~ always and only, to the `~
use of one edge of the razor blade at a time~ and~ besides ~`
that~ the blade edge makes an angle with the plane normal to
the direction in which the safety razor is flowing.

Other objectsg features and advantages of the pres-
en-t invention will become apparent as the description herein
proceeds.
Description of the preferred embodiment.
In the accompanying drawin~s, Fig. 3 and ~ig. 4 il-
lustrate the preferred embodiment of said safet~ razor, in
accordance with the present invention.
In fact, the parts that compose this safet~ ra~or are
only threeg plus~ of course, the regular old fashion double
edge razor blade on the market for over half a century.
'rhese parts, more specificallyg are ~
a) one interior plate~ as illustrated in Figo 6 and indicated at
15 Said interior plate 15 has three raised portions of its
inner surface, which act as reference marks 30 (male) to lo
cabe, among them, the ra~or blade in a flat position.
The three raised portions 30 (male) of this inner sur-
face equal the raæor blade's thickness.
In the middle of said inner surface there is~ also~
one longitudinal slot with two holes at its extremities, which
acts as reference mark 18 (female) to be connected to the
exterior plate's 16 corresponding raised members 17 and l9s
(male) of ~ig. 5. A longitudinal slo-t 25, loca-ted at the lower
part of -this inner surface, serves to dispose of the cut beard,
and the bottom edge 27 of this interior pla-te 15 acts as the -
face's safety guard;
b) one exterior plate~ as illustrated in Fig. 5 and indicated at
16. Said exterior plate 16 has~ in the middle of its inner flat
surface~ three longitudinal raised male members, indicated at
17 and l9æ. ~hese three raised male members, 17 and l9s, act
as reference marks that are to be connected to the interior
plate's corresponding slot member 18 (female) of ~ig. 6~ which
has two holes at ibs extremities. The Drawing A of Detail D is
a side ~iew of the exterior plate 16 assembled to -the interior
plate 15 with -the raYor blade 28 in be-tween and in a flat po- `
-- 6 --

sitionO It should be noticed -that the two raised reference
mark members 19s (male) are emerging from the bottom of the
interior plate 15: they are~ alsoa acting as fastening mem-
bers l9s (male). ~hey are to be connected to the handle's
corresponding longitudinal base slot member 20 (female) of
Fig. 7. It should be pointed out that the top edge 26 of said -
exterior plate 16~ as illustrated on Drawing A of Detail D
is always used -to remove the shaving cream from any crucial
spots of the face to be shaved;
c) one square section handle member7 as illustrated in Fig 3
and indicated al 10. Said square section handle member 10~ `~
shaped like an arc of a parabola~ acts9 at one endg as the
griping portion 11 of this safety razor.
~he square section of this handle member 10 reduces
its section size proportionately from the bottom of the griping
portion 11 as it approaches the top end. ~ear this top end of
the said arc of parabola~ the square section handle me~ber 10
becomes shaped as a truncated pyramid 12, as illustrated in
Fig. 3~ with the ou-twardly faced rectangular base, as illus-
trated in details in Fig. 7~ and indicated at 14.
In this rectangular base~ a longitudinal slot 20 has ~-
two opposed ribs 13~ located in its two inner side top portions
of the divided rectangular base 1~ 9 that form~ more specifically~
a channel~ as illustrated in Fig. 7.
~his channel or slot~ as previousl~ described~ extends
longitudinally within said rectangular base 14 and is adapted
to receive the runner fastening members l9s (male) of the
e~terior plate 16 assembled to the interior plate 15 with the
razor blade 28 in between and in a flat position~ as illustrated
in the Drawings A and ~ of the Detail D.
~he upper portions of the said fastening members l9s~
as illustrated in the Drawings A and B of the Detail D~ are de-
signed in compliance with the above two rib inner shape that
form -the said channel~ within which they are to be connected.
~wo fastening members (male)~ indicated at 2~ of
- 7 -

~ig. 7~ located on the inner sur-fac2 side of the lon~itudinal
base ohannel 20, are to be connected to the corresponding fast- ;
ening members 9s (female) of the exterior plate 16 of ~ig 5~
to prevent any longitudinal movement of the assembled plates 15
and 16~ as in the Drawing A of the Detail D~ relative to the
longitudinal base channel 20 of Figo 7~
In this way~ the said safety ra~or~ in accordance with
the present invention~ is ready to work s see Fig. 3 and ~ig. 4. -
It should be no-ticed that the alternative use of both ~ -
edges of the old fashion razor blade has been eliminated o the
use o~ the traditional double edge ra~or blade is limited~ al-
wa~s and only9 to the use o~ one edge of the razor blade at a
time3 and, besides that~ the blade edge makes an angle 23 of
~ig. 4 with the plane normal to the direction 22 in which the
sa~ety ra~or is flowing. Additionally, the cut of the beard is
done by the safety ra~or's blade being placed at a 90 angle
with the beard~ as the safety razor~s e~terior plate, very thin,
flows parallel to the face surfaoe~ as in ~ig. 2 and Detail ~
~lthough the invention has been specifically described
~ith reference to the particular embodiment -thereof, as shown
in the accompanying drawings~ it should be understood that
-numerous variations and modifications of the described safety
ra~or are possible.
In fact~ the ~afety razor~s handle member 10~ illus-
trated on Fig. 3, as described before and shaped as an arc of
a parabola~ may be, indif-ferently, shaped as an arc of a circle~
either as an arc of an ellipse or as an arc o~ an hyperbola~
since all these geometric curves are curves of intersection of
a plane and a right circular cone and they are called conic
sections~ or conic for short.
Additionally~ the use of fastening members o-f a form
di~erent to that previously described and illustrated in de-
tails in ~ig. 5~ ~ig. 7 and in the Drawings A and B of Detail D
is possible~ wi-thout altering the spirit o~ this invention.
The whole sa:~ety razor~ in accordance with the present
