English Abstract

Abstract of the Disclosure
A one-year calendar comprising a date disk, a week disk
coaxially superimposed on the date disk and rotatably coupled with
it, date indicating figures on the date disk, the figures comprising
a 1st day to a 31st day of which the 1st day to the 28th day are
circularly arranged and the 29th day to the 31st day are disposed
inside of the 1st day to the 3rd day, and week indicating letters
for four weeks arranged to correspond with the date indicating
figures on the date disk, one of the disks having month indicating
letters which are disposed to correspond the date indicating
figures with the week indicating letters, and other disk having
means for bringing only necessary month indicating letters into a
visible condition, and having cover sections for selectively
covering the 29th day to the 31st day.

Claims

THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY
OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A one-year calendar comprising,
a date disk,
a week disk coaxially superimposed on said date disk
and rotatably coupled therewith,
date indicating figures on said date disk, said figures
comprising a 1st day to a 31st day of which the 1st day to the
28th day are circularly arranged and the 29th day to the 31st
day are disposed inside of the 1st day to the 3rd day, and
week indicating letters for four weeks arranged to
correspond with said date indicating figures on said date disk,
one of said disks having month indicating letters which are dis-
posed to correspond said date indicating figures with said week
indicating letters, and other disk having means for bringing
only necessary month indicating letters into a visible condition,
and having cover sections for selectively covering the figures
indicating the 29th day to the 31st day.
2. A calendar in accordance with claim 1 in which said
week disk is made of transparent material.
3. A calendar in accordance with claim 1 in which said
month indicating letters are provided on said week disk and said
means comprises coloured portions provided on said date disk and
on said week disk.
4. A calendar in accordance with claim 1 in which said
month indicating letters are provided on said date disk and said
means are provided on said week disk.

Description

1~790G7
The present invention relates to a one-year calendar,
and more particularly to a wall calendar or table calendar or to
a small-size calendar which is suitable to be attached on a watch-
band or on the dial of a telephone.
Although it is known to print a calendæ on a thin
aluminum plate to be attached on the watchband, this is inconvenient
and uneconomical because the calendar shows only one month and an
old calendar must be replaced by new one.
The main object of the present invention is to prouide
a small-size and economical calendar which may be æranged to show
the date and the week of any desired month throughout a year.
other objects and advantages of the invention will be
apparent from the following description with reference to the
accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a plan view of a date disk;
Fig. 2 is a plan view of a week disk; and
Fig. 3 is a plan view of a calendar embodying the pre-
sent invention.
Referring to the drawing, the calendar of the present
invention comprises a date disk 1 and a week disk 2. The week
disk 2 is superimposed coaxially on the date disk 1 and both disks
, are rotatably coupled to each other at the center by an eyelet 3.
It will be understood that the week disk 2 may be coupled to the
date disk 1 by any other suitable device such as by a cover ring.
The date disk 1 is made of paper or synthetic resin
sheet. On the date disk 1, radial lines 4 æ e drawn for dividing
the disk into 28 columns 5 in which the dates of 1st to 28th æ e
printed. Date columns 5' in which the dates of 29th to 31st are
printed æ e located just inside the columns 5 of dates of 1st to 3rd.
.

" ~7906'7
With the exception of the date columns 5 and 5', and
of a month column 7 and a holiday column 8, the central part 6
of the disk is coloured, for example, by red.
The week disk 2 is made of transparent synthetic resin
and is of the same size as the date disk 1. As shown in Fig. 2,
many radial lines 9 and coaxial circles 10 are drawn on the disk
2, so that the outer part is divided into twenty~eight equal
columns 11 for four weeks along the rim of the week disk 2. The
radial lines 9 are adapted to align with the radial lines 4 of
the date disk 1 so that the week columns 11 may be placed outside
the date columns 5. Thus, the day of the week column 11 may cor-
respond with the day of the date column 5 or 5' by relative
rotation of the disks 1 and 2.
The week disk has opaque cover portions 12 and 12'
which are coloured, for example, by black and which may selectively
cover the date columns 5'. The week disk has further month
columns 13 and holiday columns 14. The month columns 13 indicate
twelve months and may correspond to the month column 7 of the
date disk 1. The holiday columns 14 are for the purpose of showing
national holidays and are disposed to correspond to the holiday
column 8.
Because the columns 7 and 8 are blank, the figure of
only one month column 13 which corresponds to the column 7 and
the figure of only the holiday column 14 which also corresponds
to the column 8 are capable of being seen.
one of the cover sections 12 covers the 31st day of
the date column 5' and the cover section 12' covers the 30th and
the 31st day of the date columns 5' (and the 29th day in the
common year) in the even months which contain twenty-nine days

or thirty days(or twenty-eight days in the common year) (the
drawing shows a leap year). In the odd months which contain
thirty-one days, all date columns 5' are not covered by any of
cover sections 12 and 12'.
Each of the month columns 13 and each of the holiday
columns 14 are so disposed that when a desired month of the column
13 corresponds to the month col D 7, the day of the week of the
week column 11 will correspond to the date of the date columns 5
and 5' and the holiday of the month will correspond to the column 8.
In operation, the date disk 1 and the week disk are
relatively rotated to correspond to a desired month in the month
column 7. Fig. 3 shows the calendar adjusted to February. Only
the letters indicating February correspond to the month column 7.
It is possible to see the letters "Feb.", but it is difficult to
see letters indicating months other than February, because the
letters "Feb." are on the blank column 7 and other letters are on
the coloured portion of the date disk 1. The column of Sunday of
the week columns 11 is positioned just outside of the 1st day of
the date column 5. In this way, it will be seen that the 1st day
of February is Sunday. Also in a leap year, because February is
an odd month of 29 days, the opaque cover 12' covers the 30th and
the 31st of the date column 5'.
It will be observed that figures of the twelve months
and of holidays may be printed on the date disk, and windows through
which one of the months or holidays appear are provided in the week
~'
disk instead of the month column 7 and the holiday column 8.
From the foregoing, it will be understood that the pre-
sent invention provides a calendar which is handy to show dates,
days of the week, and months through a year. AlSo by making the

calendar of small size and by using a simple clasp, the calendar
may be attached on a watchband. The calendar also can be fixed
on the central portion of a telephone dial. In accordance with
the customs of a country, the holiday column 8 and the holiday
columns 14 may be omitted to provide in the center a blank space
for commercial advertisement.
