English Abstract


Abstract
A pair of swimming paddles held by the hand to facilitate
and increase propelling power and speed when using defferent
strokes, and create a new push pull style, the fins flips ho-
rizontaly beneath the wrist when arms are thrusted forward, and
revert to a vertical position when arms are retracted, ends of
a looped bowed stout wire to engage into off-set slots on collars
at the upper ends of the fins, which is thumbs adjustable to set
and shift the angle or pitch of the fins, e.g. from horizontal to
vertical and to an horizontal beneath first to horizontal exten-
ding beyond the end of the. hands, fins has curvatures along its
edges for strength, and has a rudder effect, and will also cause
to flip the fins, upward and downward of curvatures will be adap-
table to diferant style of strokes, a cord maybe attached to pad-
dles and adjusted to the users neck, leaving hands free for other
things, e.g. Life-guards saving drowning victims etc.
Specification
This invention relates to a pair of swimming paddles improv-
ing upon previously conceaved devices, the swimming paddles that
if have knowledge of does not adequatly satisfy the various style
of swimming strokes, I make reference to Drummonds U.S. patent

"The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusi-
ve property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:"
1. A manually held swimming paddle for use in different styles
of swimming strokes, comprising a handle grip through which is
tightly inserted a shaft having an axial groove and receiving
two loosefitting collars, one at each end of the handle, each col-
lar having offsetted slots allowing a paddle blade attached to the
collars to rotate to one of at least two positions in relation to
the shaft, a wire slidable inserted in the axial groove the ends of
which are formed to loop around the shaft, interior of said collar
slots, locking the collar at each position of the blade.
2. The swimming paddle of claim 1 where the wire is slid along
the axial groove to allow the paddle blade to rotate from one posi-
tion to another position.
