English Abstract

ABSTRACT
Yoga claims that the upside down position of the human
body is beneficial to it. But only few persons can do a head
stand and this posture may become very uncomfortable if ex-
tened for a longer period of time.
This invention enables anybody to flip in an upside down
position easily.
This invention is a padded rectangular board about the
size of the human body. Leg straps are installed on one end of
the board and two brackets on two sides about half way from the
two ends. Pivot assemblies are fastened through the upper end
of the brackets to the board legs. A board support is fastened
close to the leg straps to keep the board horizontal. This
enables a person to sit on it and fasten the leg straps, lay
back and by lifting arms slowly, flip to the head down position.
An adjustable bar stops the board in the desired angle. To flip
to the horizontal position the person lowers his or her arms.
The board can be assembled from two or more pieces linked
together with hinges and secured with brackets. When the yoga
board is not in use, it cap be folded and easily stored.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive
property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:
1. A device which permits an upside down position of
the human body comprising a pivoting board mounted on legs
held in a point on the top by a pivot assembly in which a
support holds the board in a horizontal position before use.
2. A device as defined in claim 1 in which a bar mounted
on board legs stops the board in the desired angle.
3. A device as defined in claim 1 in which the board,
board legs and board supports can be folded in one or more
places or sections.
4. A device as defined in claim 1 in which thigh
fastener can be used instead of leg straps.

SPECIFICATION
This inven-tion relates to equipments permitting an upside
down position of -the human body.
The known devices which permi-t an upside down position
of the human body are designed for excercises and body move-
ments. Therefore, they have no boards and board supports. They
are sturdy and heavy to move and store.
The yosa board is designed for a body posture and is built
from light weight materials. It folds and is easy to store. The
overall structure comprising of board legs, board support and

the adjustable bar, is made from light weight pipes. All so, the
rectangular frame made of light weight pipes, supports the thin
board. Adjustable leg straps are mounted on one end of the
rectangular frame. The board can be replaced by a strong tissue
stretched in the rectangular frame. Finally, thigh fas-teners may
be used instead of leg straps.

In drawings which illustrate embodiment of the invention
Figure 1 Is an unfolded yoga board
Figure 2 Shows the use of a thigh fastener and an other
version of a folding board

Figure 3 Is a thigh fastener adap-ted for side moun-ting
and has a padded shield.

The yoga board illustrated comprises a board (1)

assembled oF two or more sections fastened to a rectangular
frame (9) which is foldable where hinges (11) are installed.
The board is held unFolded with fastening brackets (10). Hanging
brackets (4) which hang on pivot assemblies (8) are adjustable
so the board can be lowered at will. Pivot assemblies (8) permits
the board to flip from the horizon-tal to the vertical position.
Pivot assemblies (8) are mounted on board legs (2).

~L~4~

They keep them from spreading and permits them to be folded
when not in use. Legs (2) can be -folded in one or more places
as illustrated on Figure 2 where hinges (11) are installed.
Leg straps (3) are adjustable and are installed on one end of
the rectangular frame (9) where the frame is lightly bent -for-
ward. Thigh fasteners (6 and Figure 3) can be used instead of
leg straps (3) but the user has to bend knees as illustrated
in Figure 2. The adjustable bar (7) stops the board (1) in
a desired position.
