English Abstract

ABSTRACT
In a pendulant frame with multiple blades for
marbles, granites and hard stones, it is provided that the
centres of rotation (1 and 2) of the connecting rods (3 and
4), which support the blade carrier (5) of the saw, are moved
during the cutting operation jointly by the eccentric discs (6
and 7), for the purpose of compensating, in the various
operating positions, the displacement of the base (8) of the
connecting member (9) which together with the flywheel (10)
controls the alternating movement of the blade carrier (5), so
as to permit a perfect symmetry of the pendulant motion of the
same with respect to the vertical axis (Figure 1).

Claims

THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE
PROPERTY OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A device for the automatic and continuous
correction of the centres of oscillation in a pendulant frame
for the cutting of marble, granite and hard stone, said device
comprising a flywheel; a connecting member attached thereto,
said connecting member having a base which is attached to a
blade carrier; two rotating discs carrying in eccentric
positions pivots which also support said blade carrier by
means of connecting rods and means for providing said device
with a continuous rotary motion controlled automatically in
relation to the degree of descent of said blade carrier during
the working of the device for the purpose of compensating
automatically for the different positions that the base of
said connecting member assumes gradually when said connecting
member is displaced downwardly, thereby ensuring in all
positions of operation thereof a perfect symmetry of the
centre of oscillation of the supporting connecting rods of
said blade carrier.
2. The device as in claim 1 further comprising
means for rotating said discs, including a toothed wheel which
meshes with a rack disposed on a vertical column of said
device, said toothed wheel being coupled to each disc by means
of a coupling with an endless screw and helicoidal wheel,
thereby rendering the displacement of the centres of
oscillation of said movable connecting rods automatic during
the descent of said blade carrier.

DESCRIPTION
The device oE the invention has for its object to
correct continuously and automatically the position of the
centres of oscillation of the connecting rods having a pen-
dulant motion which support the blade carrier of a frame for
sawing marbles, granites and hard stones.
It is known that in pendulant frames for marbles,
granites and hard stones, it is necessary to compensate during
the cutting operation the displacement of the base of the con-
necting rods, which has a continuous variation o~ the position
of the centre of oscillation of the rods supporting the blade
carrier, with respect to the vertical axis, passing through
the centre of oscillation of the said rods.
This is currently obtained, in all pendulant frames
for the cutting of granites and hard stones, by operation by
hand of a screw which permits adjustment of the length of the
connec-ting rod, which controls the pendulant movement of the
blade carrier, which operation is carried out by the person-
nel, in an irregular manner, stopping the machine, with a
consicierable effect of discontinuity and with a not incon-
siderable loss of the working time of the machine.
With the adoption of the eccent:ric device of theinvention instead, it is possible to carry out an automatic
and continuous compensation of the posit:ion of the base of the
connecting rod during the cutting operation, without causing
stopping times Iduring the operation of the machine.
SpeciEically, the present invention provides a
device for the automatic and continuous correction of the

centres of oscillation in a pendulant Erame for the cutting of
marbles, granites and hard stones which comprises a flywheel
and a connecting member attached thereto. The base oE the
connecting member is attached to a blade carrier. This device
also comprises two rotating discs which carry, in eccentric
positions, pivots which also support the blade carrier by
means of connecting rods. The device is thereby provided with
a continuous rotary motion which is controlled automatically
in relation to the degree of descent of the blade carrier
during the working oE the device for the purpose of compensat-
ing automaticcllly for the different positions that the base of
the connecting member assumes gradually when the connecting
member is displaced downwardly. This ensures that in all
positions of operation thereof, a perfect symmetry oE the
centre of oscillation of the supporting connecting rods of the
blade carrier occurs.
The invention will be hereinafter described in
greater detail with the aid of the accompanying set of
drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 (sheet 1) shows, in schematic side view,
the whole of the machine with the eccentric device of the
invention
Figure 2 (sheet 2) shows, likewise in side view, the
details relating to the control of the device;
Figure 3 shows, in partial front view, the said
eccentric contrc~l device
Figure 4 (sheet 3) shows the geometric layout relat-

ing to the operation of the device.
The device of the invention provides that the pivots
1 and 2 (Figure 1), on which are pivoted the connecting rods 3
and 4 which support the blade carrier 5 for the cutting of
marble, granite and hard stone, are supported by eccentric
discs 6 and 7 which are caused to rotate regularly during the
descent of the blade carrier 5, during the process oE carrying
out of the cut in such a manner as to compensate continuously
for the variations o~ position oE the base oE the connecting
member 8 gradually as the connecting member 9, placed in
motion by the rotation of the flywheel 10, moves downwardly.
In particular in Figure 2 it will be seen that the
control of the movement of rotation of one oE the discs 7, on
which is eccentrically mounted the pivot 2 on which oscillates
the connecting rod 4 which supports the blade carrier 5, is
slidable along the vertical column 11 oE the device, permit-
ting l:he toothed wheel 12, which meshes with the rack 13, to
rotate putting into rotation, by means of the reducer 14, with
endless screw and helicoidal wheel, the disc 7 on which the
pivot 2 is eccentrically pivoted.
In Figure 3 it will be seen that the connecting rod
4 is made in the shape of a portal to permit the supporting of
the two opposed sides of the blade carrier 5.
In the diagram of Figure 4 it will be seen that the
eccentric discs 6 and 7, which carry the connecting rods 3 and
4, rotate in such a manner as to carry the pivot points 1 and
2 on the opposite side of said eccentrics, when the blade

carrier ascends until reaching a position aligned with the
axis of the flywheel 10, and turn to move them into the
opposite positions 1" and 2" when the blade carrier descends
below said line of symmetry during the cutting operation.
It will be seen from the diagram of Figure 4 that
the oscillating movements of the connecting rods 3 and 4
remain in such always symmetrical positions with respect to
the vertical axes passing through the pivots 1 and 2, giving
rise in all of the working positions to an optimal operation
of the cutting blade.
The compensation of such positions is automatic and
continuous and does not require any intervention on the part
of the operators.
The utilisation of the blade is optimised, with con-
siderat)le reduction of the working times.
It is also possible to make use of shorter connect-
ing rods, with consequent reduction oE the encumbrance in the
dimensions of the frame.
Obviously the constructional features of details of
the device now described and illustrated in the accompanying
set of drawings could be varied, according to the particular
exigencies of the machine, whilst maintaining the essential
characteristics of the invention, without thereby exceeding
the scope of the patent.
