20138~
BACKGROUND ART:
This invention relates to a waterproof,
thermal, and kidney and lower abdominal
supporting garment, which will conform to
the contours of the waist, buttocks and
the back of the thigh. The garment will
provide protection from moisture, cold and
moderate vibration to the kidney and lower
abdominal areas.
It is common in garments used for these
purposes to include protection of only one
of these properties previously stated. Gar-
ments such as rainsuits, don't have the
ability to keep the wearer warm as well as
providing support for kidney and lower ab-
dominal areas. They are often found to be
difficult to apply, bulky and uncomfortable
to wear. Furthermore, garments such as snow-
mobile and skiing suits primarily protect
against the cold, although possessing some
degree of waterproof ability, continued
exposure to moisture will soak the garment
thus drastically reducing the thermal capa-
bilities of the suit.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION:
Referring to figures 1 to 4 of the drawings.
These figures are preferred embodiments of the
waterproof, thermal, and kidney and lower
abdominal protective garment (10) preferrably
made of neoprene or a material with similar
properties.
The waterproof, thermal, and kidney and
lower abdominal protective garment (10) is
engaged about the body by means of two-part
closures (14) sewn to the ends of the waist-
band area (13) and to the inside and outside
edges of the leg portions (17), (18) of the
garment (10).
The two-way closure (14) includes a first
part (11) and a second part (12) which are
adapted to selectively engage each other
over a wide range along their length, to
adapt to tightening the waterproof, thermal,
and kidney and lower abdominal protective
garment (10) to different or changing girth
sizes.
As shown in a preferred embodiment, the
two-part closures (14) are velcro(R) closures
with a first part (11) comprising of a
interengageable matting and the second part
(12) having interengageable hooks on its
underside.
In use, the waterproof, thermal, and kidney
and lower abdominal protective garment (10)
is wrapped around the waist above the beltline
(19), over the normal garments (15) of the
wearer.
The first and second parts (11), (12) of
the closure (14) allow a latitude in
tightening the protective garment (10)
over the body so that it is both secure
and comfortable. The size of the first and
second parts (11), (12) of the closure (14)
allow latitude for obtaining a proper closure
for people of different sizes.
