Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

THE EMBODIMENTS OF INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY OR
PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A compact light weight overboot or hip wader consisting of a molded elastomeric membrane formed to
resemble a human leg and a foot comprising:
a closed foot portion having base portion, a leg portion extending from the foot portion,
the leg portion having a leg opening distal from the foot portion;
a stand of flexible web or tape of fixed length embedded in the elastomeric membrane on either side
of the leg portion, the web or tape extending from the leg opening to the foot portion and the
strand of the web or tape being fixedly fastened to the base portion of the foot portion;

Specification
The prese~t inv~ntion relates to a comract overboot or hip-wa~ler
which compresses into a tiny mass for convenient storage.
It is com-m~on f~r hikers and ~orsmen to wear protective
overshoes or boots or hipwaders when crossing shallow waterways
or when fishing. It is common for wearers to remove ~hem when
they walk on land. It is also common for hikers and
outdoorsrnen to r~quire concider~le stor~ge ~ace in ~ack sacks
to store them. It is also common for hipwaders or overboots to
add several pounds of weight to the ~arrier's burden or contents
of his pack sack or kit bag.
I have found ~hat these disadv~nt~ge,c, may be overcome by Ising
tightly collapsible, lightweight hipwaders made of waterproof
elasticised or P.xpan~lable s,vnthetic m~t~.n~lc, such as leil~or~
rubber or synthetic rubber latex membranes.
The preserlt invention concictc of a ~bin w~erproof fabric foot
or boot covering such as Tyvek (this is a Trademark) or rubberized
twill or canvas.
Another aspect of the present invention, comprises a molded
elastomeric mpmbr~ne formed to res~mhle a human leg and foot.
A further aspect of the present invention consists of grips at the leg
opening to ~ennit conct~nt tor~e or precs~re ~pplication
when drawn up over the boot and leg to the upper thigh of the
wearer.
A further aspect of the present invention comprises a flexible, non-
expandi~g webbin~ or a ~d of f~2ric or synthetic fil~ment ~Yhich is
fastened to the boot and the leg top grip along the length of the
exp~ntla rhle memhr~ne forming ~e leg ~hin the ~n~ h. ~ ne on eash
side ofthe leg portion ofthe leg ofthe prerelled embodiment.
A further~t of ~heinv~tiQn is ~t it is 7~mh;d~xtro~ls where it
may be worn on either of the left or right foot and leg members of
the wear~r.
