products, therein, comprising a bottom, side walls,
a mouth, and a bead extending around
the periphery of said mouth and jutting out from
said side walls, characterized in that it further
comprises, at the location of at least one side of said
bead, a rest foot substantially in the
form of an angle bracket adapted to set in
co-operation with a corresponding section of said bead,
the tray-like container to a reading desk-like
configuration.
2. A tray-like container according to Claim
1, characterized in that it is provided with a rest
foot, substantially in the form of an
angle bracket, located at each side of the container

DE :3CRI PTION
Thl~ invention relates to a tra~-like
container for packaqlna aeneral food ~roducts. more
particularly ~asta products, therein.
It is a known fact tnat in the food packa~in~
and PUblic display industry, ample use is made of
containers known as packaqinq trays. especially where
the packacle is to contri~ute si~nificantly toward- that
tinge of "hand-made" or "home-prepared'r and the like,
which is so much valued and eaqerly spied in a food
product.
Also known is that ~acka~es of the kind under
consideration hereln consist essentially of a tray and
a clear fllm wrapper completely envelo~in~ the ~.ray so
as to ~de~uately seal off the product contained
therein. The top ~ortion of the packa~e ~l.sually c~rries
information for the consumer, such as specifications of
the packaqe~ ~roduct nature, quality, weight, etc., as
well as denotation of the producer, suc~ as the
company's~name,~badges, trademarks, etc.
;The~wel1-reco~nized effectiveness of such a
contribution to the Product presentation is
;subst~ant1a1ly~10st;~when the packa~es are arranged onto
the display racks of sales outlets where customers are
expected to serVe themselves. as is done es~eciallY at

supermarkets, for exam~le.
In fact, owing to the ~eometrical features of
packaqing trays, these are of necessity stacked upon
one another on the display racks, thereby hiding from
view the very items of information of which the public
should most desirably become apprised.
The use of dis~lay racks or counters with
canted shelves or.some. like arranqements has almost
always been cost intensive, on account of the space
requirements of s~lch structures and the hi~h cost of
floor area for supermar~ets.
It is a primary ohject of this invention to
provide a tr~y-like container for packa~inq generic
food products and particularly pasta products thereln,
which has such structural features as~to advantaaeously
and conclusively overcome the afo:rementione~ drawback

section of said ~ead. the tray-like container ~.o a

Advanta~eo~sly, said tray-like container ha~
a rest foot at each sideof its botto~
The invention features and advantages will
become more clearly ap~arent from the followin~

respective rest feet 9, 10, 11 and 12, basically in the
form o anqle ~rackets, whose flanqes extend coplanarly
with said ~ottom 2 and a correspond.illcl one of the side

Said re.st feet 11 are each arran~ed to
co-operate with a corres~onding straiclht section of the
bead ~ to provide a means:of supportin~ the tray-like
container ln a su~stantially reading desk-like
