The subject of the invention is an oil, gas or geothermal drilling rig comprising a central tool and a coaxial bit in which the central tool is driven <IMG> by the rotor of a downhole motor powered by the drilling mud and in which the bit is driven, from the surface, by a drilling string that is part of a rotary system, the string subjecting the device to an axial force, characterized in that, between the stator (4) of the downhole motor and the shank (5) of the bit, there is a sliding link that allows the two tools to move axially relative to each other, and a spring (6) is positioned between the stator (4) and the shank (5) so that it is compressed by the stator when the central tool tends to lag behind the bit as they advance, in order to control the relative axial movement of the two tools and, in terms of that movement, to distribute the axial force to which the device is subjected. Application to the drilling equipment industry, mainly for oil, gas and geothermal drilling.
