Method of coupling an end piece to a metallic filtering element for joining the latter to a support (10) and product so obtained. The method is characterized in that an externally cylindrical porous sintered tube (2) is produced, one of its ends having an over thickness delimited by an inner circular truncated cone of apex 1/2 angle ( alpha NOTEQUAL 0); a tubular joining piece with a circular truncated cone shaped head of the same apex 1/2 angle ( alpha ) is produced; the tubular joining piece (5) is forcefully fitted into the tube (2) so as to obtain at the interface an average normal stress greater than 2 MPa.
tubulaire munie d'unetête tronconique (6) circulaire de même 1/2 angle au sommet (.alpha.);
