English Abstract

For the simplified attachment of strips and panels of a me-
tallic covering to a substructure pressure-sensitive tex-
tile bonding closures are provided, which consist of two
textile fabrics joined under a pressure.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

Claims
1. An attachment and connection of strips or panels (2) of
a metallic covering to a substructure (3) o r t h e
connection of strips and panels to each other, charac-
terized by the use of pressure-sensitive textile bonding
closures comprising two textile fabrics (4, 5) joined
under a pressure.
2. The attachment and connection as claimed in claim 1,
characterized in that the textile fabrics (4, 5) are
joined with the substructure (3) or the strips or panels
(2) by means of bonding or by fixing them mechanically.
3. The attachment and connection as claimed in claims 1 or
2, characterized in that the textile fabrics (4, 5) are
arranged on the respective support in the form of strips
which extend parallel or crosswise to each other.

Description
The invention relates to the attachment of strips or panels
of a metallic covering to a substructure and/or the connec-
tion between the strips and panels.
The general technical regulations for construction work
strictly stipulate that strips and panels of a metallic
covering be attached indirectly to ensure their unimpeded
variation in length caused by the effects of heat with all
connections requiring to be both rain-tight and snow-tight.
Indirect attachments of metallic coverings such as roof
claddings, coverings etc. involve the use of crooks, slide
crooks, continuous bonding ribbons, indented battens or
protecting irons, which are fixed directly to the substruc-
ture of the metallic covering, e.g. by means of hot-dip
zinc-plated steel nails. Generally, this type of attachment
enables the metallic covering to be safely fixed to the
substructure. However, the application of crooks using
zinc-plated nails, whether by hand or by means of commerci-
ally available nailing tools, involves a significant expen-
diture of assembly work and materials. Practice has shown
that care should also be taken to adjust the proper pres-
sure to drive the nails in fully- If the nails should still
project as the pressure setting was not correct or the
nails were handled inexpertly rework will be indispensable
to avoid the unsightly presentation of the nail heads on
the metallic surface.
It is the object of the present invention to provide an at-
tachment of strips and panels of a metallic covering to a
substructure or a connection between the strips and panels
whereby the expenditure of materials and assembly work,
evidently, is comparatively lower and wherein it is neces-

sary to ensure a safe attachment of the strips and panelsof a metallic covering to the substructure.
This object is accomplished by the use of pressure-sensi-
tive textile bonding closures comprising two textile fa-
brics which are joined under a pressure.
Preferably, the textile fabrics are firmly attached to the
strips or panels and the substructure by bonding or by me-
chanical fixing. The pressure-sensitive textile bonding
closures provide for all forces resulting from the effects
of wind to be safely transmitted from the metallic covering
to the substructure.
The textile fabrics are attached to the respective support
in the form of ribbons which extend parallel or crosswise
to each other.
The invention is illustrated in the drawing by way of exam-
ple and will be described in detail below.
With reference to the cross-sectional view, a roof boarding
(3) serves as a substructure for a roof cladding formed of
several zinc strips (2), which are joined via upright rab-
bets (1). Bonded to the roof boarding (3) and the back of
the zinc strips (2) at regular intervals are ribbons of
textile fabrics (4, 5) which have been joined to each other
under a pressure and exhibit an adhesion strong enough to
safely attach the roof cladding to the substructure.
