English Abstract

The invention relates to a wire section for a paper machine
comprising a forming cylinder (1), a felt (2) and a wire (3), both
wrapping around the forming cylinder (1), with the felt (2) disposed on
the inside and the wire (3) on the outside, and forming a gap (4) for
receiving a machinewide jet of stock suspension or a pre-dewatered paper
web; the forming cylinder has a rotatably mounted perforated shell. The
invention is characterized by the following features: at least part of the
wraparound zone of the forming cylinder can be pressurized from the
inside.

C L A I M S
1. Wire section for a paper machine
1.1 comprising a forming cylinder (1);
1.2 a felt (2) and a wire (3), both wrapping around the forming cylinder
(1) with the felt (2) disposed on the inside and the wire (3) disposed
on the outside, the two forming a gap (4) for receiving a
machinewide jet of stock suspension or a pre-dewatered paper web;
1.3 the forming cylinder (1) has a rotatably mounted perforated shell;
characterized by the following features:
1.4 at least part of the wraparound zone of forming cylinder (1) can be
acted upon by pressure from the inside.

zone (1.1) is partitioned off the interior of the forming cylinder (1)
by means of a stationary packing carrier (9).
3. Wire section according to claim 2, characterized in that, viewed in
the direction of rotation, several zones that can be acted upon by
different pressures are provided successively.
4. Wire section according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that, viewed

These m~rhines are also called gap r~ e.~.
Also k~own (U.S. 3,378,435) is ~ a w~re and a felt, i~ of

surface of ~e ~ 8 cylinder, ~h~ieas the wire ~vraps around the
fo~ 8 cylinder on ~e outsi~e. C~ n~d between these two, in tur~, is
~e pa~er web, sandwiched b~ elt a~d wire. In ~his case? i.e., when

The obje~ underlying the in~rentton i9 to design a wire section
