English Abstract

A plastic spigot (preferably recyclable) for plastic collapsible bags to dispense liquid fluids
noting that this cylindrical hollow spigot Fig. 4 part 3, 14 will have a solid sharp piercing
point Fig. 4 part 15 to perforate and enter into a plastic bag on one end allowing fluid flow,
and a spout on the other end of the spigot to Fig. 4 part 15 pour or dispense liquid
contents of a sealed collapsible plastic bag out of pour spigot, resulting that the liquid
product would dispense out of this pour spigot causing thereby collapsing of the bag
surrounding that portion of spigot that projects into the bag which will have allowed the
liquid to pass, gravity fed through a collection of openings Fig. 4 part 16 that surrounds the
spigot, through the spigot by way of these openings, into the spigots hollow inner central
core Fig. 4 part 3, 14 and subsequently flow out the open dispensing spout Fig. 4 part 2
end in a measurable flow and also a flexible plastic top or plug Fig. 4 part 10,11, 12 and 13
that would seal the spigot thereby un-to-before, providing a seal and as a result, extended
product life and freshness in a collapsible sealed plastic bag.

THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY
OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
(1) This invention relates to a pour spigot in particular a spigot which extracts and
dispenses milk/juice/drink type liquids from a sealed plastic collapsible bag, by
way of a sharp piercing solid plastic point to perforate and enter into a collapsible
sealed plastic bag on one end allowing fluid flow from the bag and a spout on the
other end of the spigot to pour or dispense the sealed bags fluid out of it and also
the liquid product would dispense out of this pour spigot being characterized in
that the spigot utilizes a locking device or plastic top or plug thereby effectively
providing closure of the pour spigot.
(2) Pour Spigot according to claim 1, characterized in that the closure locking device
is attached either manually or by folding over a snap on lid thus a clamping
element engaging lid and spout together.
(3) Pour Spigot according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the clamping element
takes place by means of mechanical holding of lid to top of pour spout.
(4) Pour Spigot according to Claim 1 or 2 or 3 is the resultant effect to stop the
abatement of possible fluid flow of milk/juice/drink type liquids or the contents that
have flowed down the hollow inner core of the pour spigot having entered into it
by way of openings in bottom of pour spigot having being inserted into a

-5-
collapsible plastic sealed bag.
(5) Pour Spigot according to Claim 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, characterized in that the Pour
Spigot is also when not being used as a pouring mechanism, is also acting as a
closing device or plug or stopper to the sealed plastic bag that has been opened
while still now while in use provides for a sealed collapsible plastic bag which is
also its intended purpose.

Collapsible Plastic Bag Pour Spigot
This invention relates to a pour spigot in particular a spigot which extracts and dispenses
milkljuice/drink type liquids from a sealed plastic collapsible bag, by way of a Fig.1 part 5,
Fig.4 part 5 sharp piercing Fig.1 part 11, Fig. 4 part 15 solid plastic point to perforate and
enter into a collapsible sealed plastic bag on one end allov,/ing fluid flow from the bag and a
Fig. 1 part 2, Fig. 4 part 2 spout on the other end of the spigot to pour or dispense the sealed
bags fluid out of it. The liquid product would dispense out of this Fig. 1 part 4, Fig. 4 part 3
upper portion of spigot thereby collapsing the bag surrounding that portion of Fig. 1 part 7,
Fig. 4 part 14 spigot that prc,~-ts into the bag which will have allowed the liquid to pass,
gravity fed through a Fig. 1 part 6, Fig. 4 part 14 collection of openings that surrounds the
spigot, through the spigot by way of these openings, into the spigots Fig. 1 part 4 and 7, Fig. 4
part 3 and 14 hollow inner central core and sl Ihseq~ ~ently flow out the open dispensing Fig. 1
part 1 ,Z and 3, Fig. 4 part 2, 15 spout end in a measùrable and orderly flow. A flexible Fig. 3
part 1,2,3,4 and 5, Fig.4 part 10,1 1,12, and 13 plastic top or plug, which is key to product
preservedness and freshness, would seal the spigot thereby sealing the contents of the
collapsible plastic bag thus effective eliminating the chance of cross co"la,~inating of the
bags contents by v~/ay of the air as a medium which could allow odorslfumes/heat conduction
and the like to be absorbed by the milktiuice/drink or other fluids co"tained in the plastic

collapsible bag.
The object of this invention is to provide an easy to use pour spouVspigot which will
allow for a uniform, orderly flow of milk/juice/drink out of a collapsible plastic bag,
gravity fed through a Fig.1 part 6, Fig. 2 part 6, Fig. 4 part 6 collection of openings that
surrounds the spigot, through the spigot by way of these openings, into the spigots
hollow inner central core and subsequently flow out the open dispensing spout end in a
measurable flow. The ",&."ler of which is to push Fig. 1 part 5, Fig. 3 part 5, pointed
end of Fig. 1 and Fig. 7 and Fig. 4 part 14 plastic pour spigot into a plastic collapsible
bag which may or may not be held in a bag holder. The insertion or Fig. 1 part 5,6,7,1 0
and 11, Fig. 4 part 4,5,6,14 and 1 5 of plastic pour/spigot would be pushed into the
plastic bag up to but not including Fig. 1 part 8, Fig. 4 part 8 the bottom portion of
flared Fig. 1 part 9, Fig. 4 part 3 upper portion of pour/spigot, allowing milk/juice/drink
fluid to flow through the Fig. 1 part 6, Fig. 4 part 6, four holes of the Fig. 1 part 7, Fig.4
part 14 bottom portion of the pour/spigot. The ringed area Fig. 1 part 10, Fig. 4 part 4 of
the pour/spigot would be indenled allowing plastic bag to co"lra~t and grab and
hold/lock spigot in this area of the spigot. The Fig. 4 part 8, Fig. 4 part 3, Fig. 1 part 4,
Fig. 1 part 8 ringed upper po, lion of Fig. 1 part 4, Fig. 4 part 3 pour spigot would be
grabbed and stop pour/spigot from being pushed into bag further than would then be
necess~ y to begin the emptying of the collapsible bag of any fluid inside.

2183109
This design and configuration of a pour spigot achieves the effect of being able to
easily pour or empty the contents of a collapsible bag into a glass/cup/container with
ease of use in a regulated orderly, clean manner and also a diminishing chance of
spillage with a fresh product bec~use of the use of a Fig. 3 parts 1-2-34 and 5, Fig. 4
parts 10-11-12 and 13, cap which un-to-before has not been available with other
methods of accessing a bagged product, e.g. cutting off of a collapsible bag's corner or
insertion of an uncapped type funnel tap or spout into such collapsible bag.
