TITLE
NECKTIE
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a necktie, particularly to a
necktie of which a small width portion and a large width
portion are unable to be released from each other by a loop
positioned in the rear of a large width portion as well as
the remainder hanged down therefrom after rounding the girth
of a shirt collar is secured by buttons of the shirt.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Since a conventional necktie has been constructed to
hang down its remainder after rounding the collar girth of a
shirt, the remainder should be secured to a shirt with a
necktie pin so as not to hang down when a man wearing the
necktie bends his back.
That is, there are problems in that when a man wearing
a necktie without a necktie pin bends his back such as at
taking a meal or at washing his face, the remainder after
tying a shirt collar is hanging down to be soiled or wetted
by dragging through food or water, and in that when a wearer
is outside, the remainder may be turned out or crossed over
to be on his shoulder .
1

CA 02279819 1999-08-10
Wearing a necktie pin to solve the above problems make
another problems. The problems are not only additional
expenses for purchasing necktie pin but easily losing of
such necktie when a wearer is bumped or pushed in crowded
places such as a j am-packed bus or a subway .
And, in case of no necktie pin, a wearer can not but
suffer from inconvenience such as pushing or crushing the
remainder of a necktie into a shirt or a pocket, as a
make shi f t .
SUNa2ARY OF THE INVENTION
This invention is established to solve the problems as
above, the object of the invention is to provide a necktie
which the remainder after tying a shirt collar is simply
secured to the shirt without an accessory like a necktie
pin.
To the accomplishment of the above objects, this
invention is characterized in that a necktie with a label
intermediate the rear thereof comprises a piece of cloth
attached to the rear of a small width portion, the cloth
having buttonholes in which a button positioned at the front
center of a shirt can be fasten.
According to another embodiment, this invention is
characterized in that a necktie with a label intermediate
the rear thereof comprises buttonholes in which a button

positioned at the front center of a shirt can be fasten, the
buttonhole being formed directly in the rear of a small
width portion.
According to another embodiment, this invention is
characterized in that a necktie with a loop-shaped label
intermediate the rear thereof comprises buttonholes in which
a button positioned at the front center of a shirt can be
fasten, the buttonhole being formed directly in the rear of
a large width portion.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Referring now to the drawings, the embodiments
according to this invention are described in detail.
FIG. 1 is a rear view showing a necktie construct
according to the first embodiment of this invention, FIG. 2
is a front view showing the necktie according to the first
embodiment of this invention as applied to a shirt, FIG. 3a
is a enlarged perspective view illustrating the small width
portion of the necktie according to the first embodiment of
this invention, FIG. 3b is a enlarged perspective view
illustrating the large width portion of the necktie
according to the first embodiment of this invention. As
shown in drawings, the necktie comprises a piece of cloth 50
attached to the rear of the small width portion 32 of a
necktie 30 with a label 20 intermediate the rear thereof,
4

CA 02279819 1999-08-10
the cloth 50 having buttonholes 52 in which a button 44
positioned at the front center of the shirt 40 can be
fasten; and a loop 61 holding the end of said small width
portion 32 in the rear of the large width portion 34 of said
necktie 30.
Said cloth piece 50 is made in a strip-shaped cut
followed by forming said buttonholes 52 at regular intervals
intermediate thereof, when said cloth 50 is attached to the
small width portions 32 and 72 of neckties 30 and 70, the end
parts of the cloth piece 50 are folded inward and sewed, and
then sewing lines 54 between buttonholes 52 and 52 are made
to prevent the cloth piece 50 and the necktie 30 from
extremely separating.
Said loops 61 and 62 are also made in a strip-shaped,
and the both ends thereof are folded inward and then sewed
to the rears of the large width portions 34 and 74 of said
neckties 30 and 70.
FIG. 4 is a rear view showing the necktie construct
according to the second embodiment of this invention, FIG. 5
is a front view showing the necktie according to the second
embodiment of this invention as applied to a shirt. As shown
in drawings, the necktie comprises buttonholes 90 in which a
button 84 positioned at the front center of the shirt 80 can
be fasten, the buttonholes 90 being formed directly in the
rear of the small width portion 72 of a necktie 70 with a

CA 02279819 1999-08-10
label 60 intermediate the rear thereof; and a loop 62
holding the end part of said small width portion 72 in the
rear of the large width portion 74 of said necktie 70.
That is, in the first embodiment, the cloth piece 50 in
which buttonholes 52 are formed is attached to the necktie
30, in the second embodiment later on described, the
buttonholes 90 are formed directly in the rear of the
necktie 70.
And, said buttonholes 52 and 90 are preferably formed
in large numbers at narrow interval. The reason is that the
buttons 44 and 84 for inserting should be inserted into the
most near buttonholes 52 and 90 to prevent the neckties 30
and 70 from wrinkles regardless of the lengths of tying the
neckties 30 and 70 depending on a person.
FIG. 6 is a rear view showing the necktie construct
according to the third embodiment of this invention, FIG. 7
is a front view showing the necktie according to the third
embodiment of this invention as applied to a shirt, they are
constructed in the same way of the first embodiment as shown
in drawings except of the difference that the end part of
the necktie 30 in the first embodiment is shaped in a
inclined triangle while that in the third embodiment is
shaped in a diamond (the same references for the first and
the third embodiment are used in drawings).
FIG. 8 is a rear view showing the necktie construct
6

CA 02279819 1999-08-10
according to the fourth embodiment of this invention. As
shown in the drawings, the necktie comprises buttonholes 170
formed directly in the rear of the large width portion 140
of the necktie 130 with a loop-shaped label 100 intermediate
the rear thereof, in which buttons positioned at the front
center of a shirt can be fasten.
In the other words, this is applied in the case that
the small width portion remained after tying the necktie 130
is not hang down to the buttonholes 170 formed in the rear of
the large width portion 140.
Next, referring to the attached drawings, the process
of this invention will be described in more detail as
follows .
As shown in FIG. 1, FIG. 2, FIG. 3, FIG. 3a, FIG. 3b,
FIG. 6 and FIG. 7, the processing according to the first or
the third embodiments of this invention is that: the necktie
30 is tied to the collar of the shirt 40; and the small width
portion 32 hung therefrom is passed through the label 20 to
droop down; and then the button 44 in the front of the shirt
40 are put into the buttonholes 52 formed in the cloth piece
50 sewed in the rear of said small width portion 32 drooped
down so that the necktie 30 is secured to the shirt 40.
At this time, even when a person wearing the necktie 30
bends his back, the large width portion 34 and the small
width portion 32 are piled each other by the label 20 and the
7

CA 02279819 1999-08-10
loop 61, and the small width portion 32 is affixed to the
buttons 44 by the cloth piece 50, whereby the necktie tail
is not hung down to be in the state adhered to the shirt 40.
Namely, since the small width portion 32 is inserted in
the loop 61 attached to the rear of the large width portion
34 of the necktie 30, the small width portion 32 can not be
separated from the large width portion 34 piled.
On the other hand, as illustrated in FIG. 4 and FIG. 5,
the process according to the second embodiment of this
invention is that: the necktie 70 is tied to the collar of
the shirt 80; and the small width portion 72 hung down is
passed through the label 60 to droop downward; and then the
buttons 84 in the front of the shirt 80 are fasten in the
buttonholes 90 formed in the rear of the small width portion
so that the necktie 70 is secured to the shirt 80.
Also in this case, as the first embodiment mentioned
above, even when a wearer with the necktie 70 bends his
back, the large width portion 74 and the small width portion
72 of the necktie 70 are piled each other by the label 60 and
the loop 62, and the small width portion 72 is affixed to the
button 84, whereby the necktie tail is not hung down to be in
the state adhered to the shirt 80.
And, as shown in FIG. 8, the process according to the
fourth embodiment of this invention is that: the necktie 130
is tied to the shirt collar for the small width portion
8

CA 02279819 1999-08-10
being not hung down to the buttonholes 170 formed in the
rear of the large width portion 140; and the button attached
to the shirt is fasten into the buttonhole 170 formed in the
rear of the large width portion 140, whereby the large width
portion 140 is adhered to the shirt so as not to separate the
necktie 130 from the shirt so far as not to loose the button
even under the conditions such as bending one's back or a
windy day.
As described above, the present invention can secure a
necktie to a shirt by inserting a button positioned in the
shirt front into buttonholes formed in the cloth piece
attached to the small width portion or buttonholes formed
directly in the small width portion, whereby it is possible
to prevent the necktie from hanging down even when a wearer
bends his back. Therefore, this invention is effective for
preventing the necktie from being soiled by food at taking a
meal or being wetted by water at washing, also for
preventing it from being turned out or being put on the
shoulder of a wearer. In addition, since it is not necessary
to purchase a special fixer such as a necktie pin, this
invention is effective for reducing the purchasing expense
for that.
