CLAIM
THE XTENDA PUTTER IS AN EXTENSION TO A STANDARD LENGTH PUTTER WHICH ALLOWS THE
GOLFER TO CHANGE HIS PUTTING STANCE FROM THE STANDARD (STOOPED ) TO THE
UPRIGHT STANCE ,OR VISA VERSA IN A MATTER OF SECONDS USING THE SAME GOLF

CA 02332662 2001-O1-13
DESCRIPTION OF THE "XTENDA PUTTER"
THIS IS AN APPLICATION FOR FOR A PATENT ON A PARTICULAR EXTENSION TO
A GOLF CLUB PUTTER TO MAKE IT EQUALLY ADAPTABLE FOR THE NORMAL
PUTTING STANCE ( #1 ) , OR THE LONG HANDLED OR UPRIGHT STANCE ( #2).
THE PRESENT PUTTERS ARE EITHER OF NORMAL LENGTH ( #3 ) OR LONG HANDLED . THE
XTENDA
PUTTER WILL ALLOW THE PLAYER TO USE HIS PUTTER IN EITHER STANCE BY
CHANGING ITS LENGTH IN SECONDS , TO ADAPT TO HIS LONG HANDLED PUTTER STANCE
THE PRESENT LONG HANDLED PUTTERS ARE TOO LONG TO FIT AN ORDINARY GOLF BAG AND
MAKE IT INCONVENIENT TO TRAVEL, THE EXTENDA PUTTER CAN BE REDUCED TO A
STANDARD SHIPPING LENGTH IN SECONDS.
THE PRESENT PUTTERS REQUIRE THE PLAYER TO CARRY TWO CLUBS IF HE WISHES TO
CHANGE HIS PUTTING STANCE DURING A GAME, THE EXTENDA PUTTER ALLOWS THE
PLAYER TO CARRY ONE PUTTER BUT CHANGE HIS PUTTING STANCE IN SECONDS BY
ADDING OR REMOVING THE EXTENSION.
THE XTENDA PUTTER WILL COME WITH THE LENGTH OF EXTENSION TO FIT THE HEIGHT OF
THE
PLAYER IN HIS UPRIGHT ( LONG PUTTER ) STANCE ( #2 ).
THE XTENDA PUTTER IS A STANDARD PUTTER ( # 3 ) WITH A FEMALE THREADED INSERT (
# 4 )
PRESS FITTED AND GLUED INTO THE UPPER HOLLOW END OF THE SHAFT AND A
THREADED CAP ( #7 ) SCREWED INTO THE INSERT ( #4 ) WHEN THE EXTENSION ( #6 )
IS
NOT REQUIRED.
WHEN THE EXTENSION IS USED THE CAP ( # 7 ) IS REMOVED FROM THE TOP OF THE
STANDARD PUTTER SHAFT INSERT ( #4 ) AND PLACED IN TOP OF EXTENSION ( # 6).
THE EXTENSION ( #6 ) WHICH IS MADE UP OF A SHORT METAL PUTTER
SHAFT EXTENSION( #6 ) WITH A GRIP ON THE UPPER END AND A
AN INSERT (#5 ) PRESS FITTED AND GLUED INTO THE LOWER END.

CA 02332662 2001-O1-13
THE EXTENSION INSERT ( #5 ) HAS A 4" MALE THREAD EXTENDING OUT FROM THE
4" INSERTED INTO THE EXTENSION ( #6 ) THAT MATCHES THE FEMALE THREAD
IN THE INSERT ( #4 ) IN THE TOP OF THE STANDARD PUTTER SHAFT
AND IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF SCREWING THE EXTENSION ( #6 ) INTO THE SHAFT ( #3
).
PREVIOUS APPROACHES DO NOT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM OF LENGTHENING THE
STANDARD PUTTER SHAFT ( #3 ) TO ADAPT IT TO THE LONG HANDLED STANCE ( #2 ).
PREVIOUS APPROACHES WERE TO ADD LENGTH TO THE SHAFT AND CHANGE THE "SHAFT TO
HEAD ANGLE" ,AND DESIGNATE AN ENTIRELY NEW STANCE (NOT PRESENT STANDARD
STANCE)
PREVIOUS APPPROACHES ADD AN ADJUSTABLE SHAFT AND HEAD ANGLE TO ALLOW
THE PLAYER TO STAND FARTHER BACK TO ACCOMMODATE A MORE
HORIZONTAL SWING (MORE LIKE A HOCKEY STICK SWING)
THE PREVIOUS APPROACHES MAKE IT DIFFICULT AND COSTLY TO ADAPT THE ONE PUTTER
TO THE TWO PUTTING STANCES ( #1 & #2 )
THE XTENDA PUTTER LENGTHENS THE SHAFT OF THE STANDARD PUTTER CONFIGURATION
TO ALLOW THE PLAYER TO PUTT COMFORTABLY FROM EITHER STANCE, LONG
HANDLED OR SHORT , AND CHANGE IN A MATTER OF SECONDS.
THE XTENDA PUTTER CAN BE MANUFACTURED COMPLETE OR RETRO FITTED TO EXISTING
STANDARD LENGTH PUTTERS FOR A MINIMUM OF COSTS.
THE XTENDA PUTTER WILL ALLOW A RETRO FIT OF THE EXTENSION TO A PLAYERS
FAVOURITE PUTTER ( #3 ) WITHOUT ALTERING HIS ORIGINAL CLUB EXCEPT FOR THE
PRESS FITTED INSERT (#4 ) AND CAP ( #7 ) IN THE TOP OF THE SHAFT.

CA 02332662 2001-O1-13
THE EXTENSION CAN ALSO BE MANUFACTURED WITH A FEMALE THREADED INSERT( #4 )
PRESSED INTO THE EXTENSION AND A SEPARATE THREADED UNION ( #8 ) CAN
BE USED TO JOIN THE TWO PARTS ( #3 & #6 ) TOGETHER AND WOULD ALLOW FOR THE
PLACING OF A FILLER PIECE TO LENGHTEN THE CLUB IF REQUIRED .
THIS IS MORE EXPENSIVE SO IT WOULD BE USED TO LOAN TO PLAYERS TO EXPERIMENT
TO DETERMINE THE LENGTH OF LONG HANDLED PUTTER THEY ARE COMFORTABLE
WITH, BEFORE THEY BOUGHT THEIR FIXED LENGTH XTENDA PUTTER.
