English Abstract

In the modem fast paced world where every human is overloaded with stress
linked to his social
environment, workplace, family and basic survival it is natural for any person
to be forgetful. Being
preoccupied with multifaceted problems one can easily misplace, forget or
loose his or her purse or
some important document that he/she is carrying to a meeting place or at a
shopping center or a
restaurant. Added to this are the cases of many missing children and Seniors
daily worldwide.
It is quite common to notice such an occurrence in everyday life. A loss of a
valuable could deeply
affect its owner or a group of people or for that matter an entire Company or
a Country and it's after
affects could lead to financial or emotional ruin. Only the one who loses
knows the true importance
of a lost personal belonging.
In my system named as "Individual Protection System" an affordable means to
prevent or greatly
reduce any loss of personal belongings has been developed.
General Theme of the System:
Name Individual Protection System
General Idea It would consist of a transmitter and a receiver, which would be
in continuous
link/contact with each other. If one of these is removed from the near
vicinity
of the other then there would be an immediate audio-visual alarm to the owner
warning him/her immediately about the misplaced or forgotten article so that
it
can be retrieved in-situ.
In the future with the development of the global positioning systems lost
items
large or small including missing children or vehicles could be easily traced
and
returned to the owner's in the shortest possible time.

means to
prevent or greatly reduce any loss of personal belongings to any individual or
person or
Company are provided utilizing a transmitter & receiver linked together by a
unique
frequency and an audio-visual alarm system warning the owner in case the
object with
the transmitter is moved away from the vicinity of the receiver station.
2. The Individual Protection System will essentially comprise of the an
electronic signal
transmitter mounted on the object to be protected/monitored and an electronic
signal
receiver mounted on a station at the owner's personal body or belonging and
both the
transmitter and receiver are electronically coupled together at a unique radio
frequency,
or through telemetry and the connection is wireless.
Also an audio-visual alarm system is embedded in the receiver station, which
is actuated
as soon as the transmitter is moved away from the receiver by a predetermined
distance.
3. The audiovisual alarm system will be actuated based upon a specific range
of distance
between the transmitter and receiver which can be selected by the Customer
during the
ordering stage. At the same time the higher end IPS systems will have the
feasibility of
selecting a variable range of distance from the receiver station.
The distance range can be selected from a fraction of a meter to a 100 Km. The
range
could be extended further with the progress of the global positioning systems.
4. The size of the transmitter and receiver would be small enough to be

Subject: Application for registration of Patent for ~~Individual Protection
System" (IPS)
Dear Sir/Madam,
In the modern day it has become extremely important for the business gentry to
carry either
a laptop computer/palmtop or a mobile phone for communication on the move with
Clients,
Principals, or colleagues. In the era of global where competition time i.s
shrinking , effective and
timely communication is playing an increasingly essential role and the
mentioned instruments are
becoming a necessity.
The common man also tends to carry important documents & personal essentials
(money
and credit cards) on his person whilst he is on the move from home to the
office or to another
designated appointment place. Teenagers and the Seniors also are added to the
general masses
though they seem to be less able to take care of the important personal
belongings on the move.
Daily there are numerous of cases of lost items/articles worldwide. The true
importance and
impact of a lost personal belonging is known only to the one who loses it.
Sometimes it is of
immense financial value, other-times it is of extreme emotional value and in
some cases its
availability at a particular time is of utmost importance! !
In the fast paced environment of today, it is easily possible to loose one's
senses making it
far easier to lose one's personal belongings.
As a means of protecting one's belongings and to prevent the losses indicated
above, the
concept for an 'Individual Protection System' i.e. IPS for short is formulated
by the me which I
plan to produce in the near future. It is the my firm belief that the product
will be easily accepted by
the masses due to its inherent utility to prevent the loss of important
documents, articles and
personal belongings of individuals or to trace the lost items within a short
time frame.
It is anticipated that the PPS would have a demand worldwide once its utility
is proven in a
localized area.
Sincerely yours,
Shamsher Singh

I
Individual Protection System (IPS)
Background
In the modern fast paced world every human being is overloaded with stress
linked to his social
environment, workplace, family and daily fight for basic survival. Thus it is
natural for any person
to be forgetful. Being preoccupied with multifaceted problems one can easily
misplace or forget his
or her purse or some important document or other personal belongings that one
is carrying to a
meeting place or shopping center or a restaurant.
It is quite common to notice such an occurrence in everyday life. A loss of a
valuable could deeply
affect its owner or a group of people or fc>r that matter a Company and its
after affects could be
quite
costly to those concerned.
I plan to produce a product which will provide the means to prevent a person
from incurring a
personal material loss or to trace the lost item in a short time and it is
felt that the product involved
would greatly reduce the critical item losses incurred by people all over the
world.
The Product
Name Individual Protection System i.e. IPS for short
General Idea It would consist of a transmitter and a receiver which would be
in continuous
link/contact with each other. If one of these is removed from the near
vicinity
of the other then there would be an immediate audio-visual alarm to the owner
warning him/her immediately about the misplaced or forgotten arkicle so that
it
can be traced and retrieved in-situ.
In the future with the development of the global positioning systems lost
items
large or small could be traced and returned to the owner's in the shortest
possible time over a wider distance and range.
Advantages The following advantages would be self evident to Consumers if such
a device is
available to them:
- Important documents/articles could be carried without unnecessary worry
or hassles.
- Immediate means of location of lost documents or vehicles once the global
search systems are available. j
j System Setup requirements for the IPS
The following points describe the elements involved in the system
configuration:
1. Transmitter - Receiver
A signal transmitter would be mounted/attached to the document/articlE:. This
would continuously transmit a signal at a particular unique frequency to the
receiver which
would be mounted / attached to any body part of the owner such as a watch or a
ring or item
of clothing.

Continued on page 3
- 3-
1. Unique identification
Since 2 or 3 persons in the same vicinity could be carrying the
transmitters/receivers at the
same time for different .purposes, it is natural that each
transmitterlreceiver must have a
unique or definite frequency different from any other transmitter/receiver.
A unique identification similar to the magnetic coded bars have to be utilized
for each pair
of transmitter/receiver.
2. Size and Range/penetration/remote sensing indication/capability
Size The size of the transmitter & receiver has to be quite small so that it
can be
attached to or inside a watch, bracelet, ring etc. or a small document such
as a passport or credit card.
Range The range of operation could be from a few feet to a few Km ! !
Small range 0 to 3 meters
Medium range up to 10 meters
Large range up to 1 Km or 5 Km
Extra large range up to 50 Km
Penetration The signal transmission/receipt should be able to pass through
various forms
of elementary barners such as matter (solids, liquids, gases), human beings
without causing any detrimental/harmful effects to them.
Indication On the loss of signal between the transmitter and receiver based
upon removal of
transmitter from the range of the receiver as per the ranges specified above,
there would be a strong audible and/or visual signal on the receiver which
will
be easily recognized by the owner.
3. Attachment methods
The mode of attachment will have the following:
- Easy attachment and removal to/from any item/article/document
- Firm attachment which cannot be easily detached by movement and small force
- Possibility of multiple attachments/detachments
4. Global positioning system/tracking facility
In the future with the advent of the global positioning systems, they could be
adopted
to trace missing children or stolen vehicles with transmitters/receiver
stations.
5. Pricing strategy:
Common man : Simple and affordable (Audience - Middle class population
worldwide)
Richer gentry : Aesthetically sound and of higher value
Corporations : Based upon the complexity of the system required.
