Field of Invention
This invention relates to a cart for a vehicle with foldable wheels. In
particular,
this invention relates to a cart that .could be utilized out of the vehicle as
a shopping cart,
a tool cart, a baby carrier, a golf clubs cart and such. Consistently it can
slide back into
the vehicle and be secured in it.
Background of Invention
At present the loading and unloading of goods in and out of vehicles is time
consuming. Heavy lifting also increases the: risk of back injury, leg strains.
Oftentimes
goods will be placed into plastic bags, those itself being polluters, and
loaded into the
vehicle.
Summary of Invention
The disadvantages of manual loading may be overcome by providing a cart to
be securely but releasable mounted in a vehicle, which may be easily moved
outside the
vehicle and used as a shopping, tool, baby, golf club cart and such.
According to one aspect of the invention, there is a cart provided and an
apparatus placed in a vehicle which allows for smooth loading and unloading of
such
carts to the vehicle.

CA 02380692 2002-04-18
The mentioned apparatus supports the weight of the loaded cart, aligns
(horizontally and vertically) and guides the cart during sliding into the
vehicle and also
steers wheel lags to the folded position.
The wheel lags automatically rotate around the grooved shaft of the lag, while
lying over the moveable part of the base during sliding. The lock mechanism
secures the
cart position in the vehicle. The unlocking of the mechanism occurs during
sliding out
movable part of the base.
Description of the Drawings
FIGURE 1 is a perspective view of a cart according to the invention for use
with a
vehicle having installed movable and stationary part of a base;
FIGURE 2 is a view of the invention showing open position of the base and
initial
start of cart sliding into the vehicle;
FIGURE 3 is a view showing engagement of a cart with movable part of the base;
FIGURE 4 is a bottom view of a cart
FIGURE 5 is showing first pairs of lags in stored position and the second in
deployed. The cart is laying over a movable part of a base;
FIGURE 6 is showing a cart stored in the vehicle and the part of a base in
deployed position;
FIGURE 7 is a back view showing a cart stored in the vehicle;
FIGURE 8 is a perspective 'view showing a cart stored in the vehicle
