English Abstract

The invention is a formulation comprising 2% polybexamethylendiaznine, 1%
saccharose and
97% sodium glycerate, combined to form crystals in the form of powder or
compressed into
tablets. The powder or tablets are for use as disinfectant for small
quantities of water. They
provide a highly effective disinfectant agent and differ from other products
based on chlorine or
silver by the lack of taste or colour, their good solubility, fast action and
lack of corrosive or
poisonous properties. They have a very high bactericidal effectiveness on
forms of bacteria like
psychrophilic and mesophilic bacteria.
They dissolve and disinfect water in 30 minutes. They can be stored at room
temperature and
have a shelf life of 12 months. They provide a safe and fast way to purify
water for drinking
purposes for disaster relief, in isolated places or for military use where
drinking water is
unavailable. They are readily transported.
