MOBILE MULTIMEDIA DIGITAL BILLBOARD ADVERTISING SYSTEM
This invention provides a unique system for the provision of mobile multimedia
digital billboard
advertising.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The outdoor (out-of-house) advertising industry is fragmented, consisting of
large companies
involved in outdoor advertising, as well as hundreds of smaller and local
companies operating in a
single or a few local markets. The companies compete with a wide variety of
out-of-home media,
including advertising in shopping centers, airports, movie theatres,
supermarkets and taxis.
Advertisers compare the relative costs of available media and cost-per-
thousand advertising
impressions.
Outdoor (out-of-house) advertising is a comprehensive mix of media delivery
mechanisms that seek
to reach people in their cars, or on subways, in airports and malls or in any
number of growing
outdoor media settings.
In competing with other advertising media the outdoor advertising industry
relies on its relative cost
efficiency and its ability to reach a broad segment in a specific market or to
target a particular
geographic area or population with a particular demographic within that
market.
Advertising in in-building environments have taken the form of stationary
digital displays and
mobile non-digital displays, but to date there has been no mechanism for the
delivery of mobile in-
building digital billboard advertising.

In its typical operation the invention would be driven by a human operator to
a position (or
positions) within an in-door environment such as a shopping mall, and while
the invention is mobile
or stationary, the operator would select and deliver by means of the
multimedia player, the desired
multimedia advertising content.
Two drawings which fornis part of this specification, illustrates the
invention in a typical
embodiment.
Figure 1 presents a perspective of the invention. Figure 2 provides an
assembly drawing of the
invention. The references below are used in common between both Figure 1 and
2.

The present invention, while in motion or while stationary, will enable the
delivery of full motion
multimedia billboard advertising content within shopping malls and other in-
building environments.
In particular, the invention will allow advertisers and others, to deliver
their desired multimedia
content within close range of their target audiences.
Various forms of outdoor (out-of-house) mobile advertising that do not employ
digital technology,
or that are not appropriate for in-building environments, have been developed
as found in the

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention provides a unique method for the provision of mobile in-building
digital billboard
advertising. The unique mobility of the invention allows advertisers to
deliver selected visual and
auditory messages to their target audiences.
In very general terms, the invention is assembled from off-the-shelf
components, comprised of a
powered mobility scooter (such as are commonly used as an alternative to
wheelchairs by people
with disabilities), one or more digital display panels, one or more audio
speakers, an onboard
multimedia player by means of which to deliver multimedia advertising content
to the digital display
panel(s) and to the audio speaker(s).
The multimedia player, may consist of a single physical unit, or may be
separated into different
functional parts.
The one or more digital display panels are mechanically attached to the
scooter, on the front, and/or
the sides, and/or the rear of the scooter. The digital display panels may be
attached directly to the
mobility scooter, or indirectly by means of a superstructure for that purpose.
The invention, by means the digital display panel(s) and audio speaker(s),
will deliver full motion
multimedia advertising content to shopping malls and to other high pedestrian
traffic environments.
