English Abstract

A scoop and pour device for handling wet or dry bulk foods comprised of a
tubular shape
and having an opening between the base and handle for scooping food into a
containment
area and a spout for pouring the contents into canning jars, plastic freezer
bags or other
containers.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

Claims
The embodiment of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is
claimed
are as follows:
In the case of an apparatus
A manually operated tool for scooping, containing, transporting and pouring of
wet or
dry foods or other suitable materials. It is comprised of a cylindrical tube
having a
circular base, the diameter of which is the same size as said tube with 50% of
the tube, both lengthwise and widthwise removed from, but not including said
base
leaving an opening on top extending from the base to an angled handle and
allows the
operator to vertically scoop up wet or dry foods into the interior, to be
contained
therein by the cylindrical side walls, base and a frontal upward curved area
and is
accomplished by the forward tipping of the device to horizontally transport
the
contents using an angled handle, the rear of which rises up from the front of
said
opening and angles downward to terminate at the top of the front concave
portion of
the tube which serves as a base for the front of the handle and also serves to
contain
said contents from escaping during the pouring process which occurs when the
device
is tipped forward allowing the contents to escape through the long wide spout
located
between the frontal said curved area and frontal base of said handle.

Specificiation Description
This invention was conceived as a result of my having difficulty filling
freezer bags using
various ladles, spoons and funnels. My device which is named "Scoopour" is
tube-shaped
(7) and used to scoop, contain, transport and pour liquid or dry foods in the
act of canning
Or freezer bag storage without using the traditional funnel. Because the
device has a
spout (4) which is long and wide, food can be poured into many different
storage
containers with little or no mess or wastage. My device also has a flat base
(5) which
allows it to scoop almost all products from the parent container leaving
little residue.
My invention also has a unique rear-facing opening in the tube between the
handle and
the Base (2), this opening allows the containment area to be filled using a
backward
scooping motion. The handle (3) is angled to be comfortable in scooping,
transporting
and pouring actions. The containment area (2) has an upward curved area (6) at
the front
of the cylinder with two cylindrical side walls (9) and the base (5) to keep
the product
inside during transport. The spout (4) is placed above the curved front area
(6) for this
reasori as well and the spout (4) extends outward from the front of the
curveci area (6)
thence curves up and back to the handle (3) My invention may be constructed of
tubular
food grade plastic, metal or other suitable Material. The device may be
constructed in
various sizes to be useful domestically or commercially.
