CA 02666648 2011-05-30
A CLAMP DEVICE FOR BELT CONNECTION
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention refers to a clamp device for a belt connection
configured to
the connection between a belt and sucker rod or between the crossbeam of a
balance
weight lever and a belt in a vertical pumping unit. The present invention
belongs to the
belt connection technology field of pumping units.
BACKGROUND OF THE PRIOR ART
Generally, the connection between a belt and sucker rod or between the
crossbeam of
a balance weight lever and a belt of a pumping unit generally adopts binding
or bolt joint
methods in the prior art, both of which require the connected belt to be
pierced.
Consequently, the strength of the connected belt is damaged. Existing belt
connection
methods also lead to operational inconvenience, are non-recyclable and work
unreliably.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to an embodiment of the present invention, a clamp device for belt
connection is provided to make the belt connection work more reliably, be time-
and
labor-saving, easily operated and recyclable with no influence to the strength
of
connected belt, so as to overcome the defects of the prior art.
An aspect of the present invention provides a fastened clamping box, a
removable
box cover, a fixed clamp plate and a floating clamp plate, wherein the
removable box
cover is connected via a securing bolt with the fastened clamping box, the
fastened
clamping box further comprising a ledge configured to hold the removable box
cover in

CA 02666648 2011-05-30
the fastened clamping box, inside which the fixed clamp plate and floating
clamp plate
are positioned and the fixed clamp plate is fastened therein by coupling bolt,
and the
locking bolt on the box cover is provided to fix and lock the floating clamp
plate.
Another aspect of the present invention provides the fixed clamp plate and the
floating clamp plate with peg teeth on a portion of the clamping surface of
each plate.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. 1 illustrates the schematic view of the invention.
FIG 2 illustrates the left view of FIG 1.
FIG. 3 illustrates the schematic sectional view from A in FIG 1.
Description of reference signs in drawings: I-fastened clamping box, 2-
removable box
cover, 3-fixed clamp plate, 4-floating clamp plate, 5-bolt, 6-coupling bolt, 7-
locking bolt,
8-peg teeth, 9-ledge extension, 10-connected belt.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, fastened clamping box 1,
removable box cover 2, fixed clamp plate 3 and floating clamp plate 4 are all
made of
metallic materials.
Fastened clamping box 1 is shaped to be concave, and on both edges of fastened
clamping box 1, ledges 9 are made to hold removable box cover 2 in fastened
clamping
box 1. Securing bolt 5 is used to further secure the connection between
fastened clamping
box 1 and removable box cover 2.
Fixed clamp plate 3 and floating clamp plate 4, each with peg teeth 8 on a
portion of
the clamping surface, are positioned in fastened clamping box I where fixed
clamp plate
3 is fastened by coupling bolt 6. Locking bolt 7 is mounted on removable box
cover 2 to
fix and lock floating clamp plate 4. The presence of ledges 9 and securing
bolt 5 ensure
that removable box cover 2, upon which locking bolt 7 is mounted, is securely
in place to

fix and lock floating clamp plate 4.
When the preferred embodiment of the present invention is being operated,
locking
bolt 7 is loosened and connected belt 10 is placed into the space between
fixed clamp
plate 3 and floating clamp plate 4. Locking bolt 7 is then tightened, thereby
fixing and
locking floating clamp plate 4.
By adopting the above preferred embodiment, there is no need to pierce the
belt in
clamping the connected belt to create a connection with the present invention,
and the
strength of the belt will not be affected thereby. Moreover, compared with the
prior art,
the preferred embodiment has the advantages of a reliable, working connection,
convenient operation. The preferred embodiment will save time and labor, and
can be
used repeatedly.
From the foregoing, it will be appreciated that specific embodiments of the
invention
have been described herein for purposes of illustration, but that various
modifications
may be made without deviating from the spirit and scope of the various
embodiments of
the invention. Further, while various advantages associated with certain
embodiments
of the invention have been described above in the context of those
embodiments, other
embodiments may also exhibit such advantages, and not all embodiments need
necessarily exhibit such advantages to fall within the scope of the invention.
Accordingly, the invention is not limited, except as by the appended claims.
