Description
The present invention relates to a pressure barbecue grill
that is designed to grill meat or other food at high pressure.
This invention , pressure barbecue grill is meant to grill
meat fast , to keep all natural juices in meat, and also to deliver a
nice look and taste to the grilled meat
This pressure barbecue grill does not use the boiling water
steam to get the pressure inside pressure barbecue grill.
This pressure barbecue grill uses air pressure delivered by
an air compressor to get pressure inside pressure barbecue grill.
The presence of the air pressure during grilling process prevents
natural juices in meat to evaporate or to boil, allows meat to get
higher temperatures for better cooking , and also faster grilling.
The air compressor is installed in the pressure barbecue
grill's base , or could be exterior . The air compressor assembly is
equipped also with air pressure safety means and air pressure
control, which are specific to use of pressure vessels. Air pressure
in the pressure barbecue grill is controlled either manually or by
the microcontoller if we use certain grilling programs.
This mode of grilling using air pressure and higher meat
temperatures allows us to get better results with lower grade cuts
of meat.
The heat source is comprised of heating elements which are
installed on support arms, for position adjusting purpose, or they
can be installed in a fixed position, or some of heating elements
can be installed on support arms for adjustable position and some
in a fixed position.

Every heating element is controlled separately, so they can
deliver same or different temperatures.
Temperature of heating elements is set manually or by the
microcontoller if we use certain grilling program.
In order to get an even meat grilling, better temperature
transfer from heating elements to meat , pressure barbecue grill
uses a speed reducer witch delivers different revolutions per
minute to grill racks. Meat is moved around by rotating grill racks
during grilling process , which assures the temperature is even
distributed inside pressure barbecue grill, and meat is grilled
evenly .
The grill racks are designed to meet the requirements of
grilling of most used meat categories : steaks and ribs, turkey,
chicken, thick roasts and thin roasts or other meat cuts or food.
The grill racks expose meat to temperature in the most possible
efficient way , to get the desired grilled meat. The revolutions per
minute of grill racks are set manually or by the microcontoller if
we use certain grilling programs.
In order to keep all natural juices of the grilled meat, and to
prevent them from evaporating , at the end of grilling period , the
heat is turned off , and the grilled meat is allowed to cool down in
presence of air pressure . When the grilled meat is cooled down,
the air pressure is drained out of pressure barbecue grill , pressure
barbecue grill is opened and the grilled meat can be used.
At the end of grilling period , for a faster cooling down of
grilled meat , the rotation speed of grill racks is increased and a
pressure barbecue grill cooling system , with water or forced air
flow is used.
Grilling process is an important energy consumer. To
prevent waste of energy through the pressure barbecue grill walls ,

an insulated cover is used during grilling period, this way , energy
is saved and the grilling process is faster.
The pressure barbecue grill is used in vertical position, but
for certain meats or certain grilling it could be used on horizontal
position .
To prevent air leaking along drive shaft , which transfer
rotation from speed reducer to grill rack rod, bushing and seals are
used .

The pressure barbecue grill has many functions an features that
can be used in many ways by user.
The drawings show couple of many uses of the pressure barbecue
grill and they are described as follow :
Example 1 :
Pressure barbecue grill showed in Fig.1 and Fig.1.1 can
grill flat pieces of meat or food.
The meat 18 is loaded on grill rack 22 , that could have a
diamond pattern , to give meat a nice appearance.
Also because grill rack 22 has a cross section shape of a regular
polygon, the grilled steaks 18 will have a flat appearance.
If the grill rack 22 will have cross section shape of a circle, the
grilled steaks 18 will have a curved appearance.

Pressure barbecue grill's lid 19 is put on pressure
barbecue grill's base 9 and locked together and tip of grill rack
rod 8 is accommodated by grill rack rod guide 20.
Before grilling, meat can be smoked using the meat smoker
4, also, if a certain level of humidity is wanted, the humidifier 27
can produce the required amount of water vapors.
Position of heating element support arms 13;14, have to
be setup to make sure heating elements 21 are at the same distance
to meat 18, all grilling period. The roller 11 is adjusted in a
certain position in slot 28, this position determines a certain
distance to meat 18, of heating element installed on support arm
13. Support arm 14 and its bracket 23 are moved, so heating
element installed on support arm 14 reaches the right distance to
meat 18 and the tightening means 12 will keep this distance
during grilling period.
Spring 25 pulls support arm 14, that pulls support arm
13 by bracket 23. Tightening means 16;17 are loose. Because
roller 11 is pushed against roller guide 10, during rotation of
grill rack 22, roller 11 will follow cross section shape of roller
guide 10, which is the same with cross section shape of grill rack
22. This way heating elements 21 will keep the same distance
to meat 18.
When meat 18 is ready for grilling, air compressor 1 is
turned on, and air pressure is delivered trough air distribution
means 2 to pressure barbecue grill. Pressure barbecue grill's
seal 26 prevents air pressure leaks. Air compressor 1 and air
distribution means 2 are equipped with all means related to air
pressure safety and air pressure control.
When the set level of air pressure is reached , air
compressor 1 is turned off and motor of speed reducer 5 is

turned on, delivering o low number of revolutions per minute to
drive shaft 7, that further transfers rotation movement trough
bushings and seals 6, to grill rack rod 8, which rotates grill
rack 22.
Heating elements 21 are powered and grilling process is
started. Because grill rack 22 is rotating and heating elements 21
keep a constant distance to meat 18 , meat is exposed to heat
evenly. To prevent waste of energy , and for a faster grilling, an
insulated cover is put on pressure barbecue grill's lid 19.
When meat 18 is considered grilled, heating elements 21
are turned off, insulated cover is put off pressure barbecue grill's
lid 19 to allow meat 18 to cool down. Grill rack 22 has to
keep rotating until meat 18 is cooled down, then air pressure is
drained out, speed reducer motor is turned off and pressure
barbecue grill's lid 19 is put off pressure barbecue grill's base 9
and grilled meat 18 can be used.

to control grilling process manually or microcontroller 3 can be
programmed with different grilling programs , user providing
microcontroller 3 with all data about grilling process, temperature,

Example 2:

grill big pieces of meat like roasts, turkey, chicken or other food.

Example 3 :
Pressure barbecue grill showed in Fig.3 and Fig.3.1 can
grill multiple pieces of meat like roasts or other food at once.
The meat 18 is loaded on stick 25. Instead of stick 25 ,
there can be installed a basket to accommodate kebab or alike
food. Pressure barbecue grill's lid 10 is put on pressure barbecue
grill's base 9 and locked together and tip of grill rack rod 8 is
accommodated by grill rack rod guide 20.
Before grilling, meat can be smoked using meat smoker 4.
Also, if a certain level of humidity is wanted, humidifier 29 can
produce the required amount of water vapors.

gear 21. Ring gear 21 is accommodated by posts 15.
Meat 18 is supported by gears 23, so meat 18 is evenly exposed
to heat.
Heating elements 22 are powered and grilling process is
started .
When meat 18 is considered grilled, heating elements 22
are turned off, insulated cover is put off pressure barbecue grill's
lid 10 to allow meat 18 to cool down.
Stick support bracket 24 and gears support bracket 30 has to keep
rotating until meat 18 is cooled down, then air pressure is drained
out, speed reducer motor is turned off , pressure barbecue grill's lid
10 is put off pressure barbecue grill's base 9 and grilled meat 18
can be used.

pressure is drained out, speed reducer motor is turned off , pressure
barbecue grill's lid 10 is put off pressure barbecue grill's base 9
and grilled meat 18 can be used.

roasts, ring meat roasts.
Thin meat roast or food 22 is loaded on stick 23, kebab
or alike pieces of meat or food 21 are loaded in grill rack 17
that is designed like a basket to accommodate such pieces of meat
or food, ring meat roasts or food 18 are loaded on grill rack 16
that is designed to allow a heating element to be positioned inside
ring meat roasts 18.
Position of the heating element support arms 14, have to
be setup to make sure heating elements 13 are at the same
distance to meat or food 18;21;22 all grilling period.

insulated cover is put on pressure barbecue grill's lid 10.

turned on, and air pressure is delivered trough air distribution
means 2 to pressure barbecue grill. Pressure barbecue grill's

When the set level of air pressure is reached , air
compressor 1 is turned off and motor of speed reducer 5 is

bushings and seals 6, to grill rack rod 8, which rotates the
main gear 26.
Gears 11 are engaged with main gear 26 so gears 11 will rotate
in the same time with main gear 26.
Gears 11 are supported by gear support bracket 12. The tips of

grill rack 16; grill rack 17; stick 23 are supported by stick
support bracket 24.
Gear support bracket 12 and stick support bracket 24 are
accommodated by posts 15.
Heating elements 13 are powered and grilling process is
started .
When meat 18; 21; 22 is considered grilled , the heating
elements 13 are turned off, insulated cover is put off to allow
meat 18; 21; 22 to cool down.
Main gear 26 has to keep rotating until meat 18; 21; 22 is
cooled down, then air pressure is drained out, speed reducer's
motor is turned off , pressure barbecue grill's lid 10 is put off
pressure barbecue grill's base 9 and grilled meat 18; 21; 22
can be used.
