English Abstract

A mobile media bracket assembly having a mounting bracket for releasable
attachment to an existing
shopping cart handle. The bracket has a cradle assembly to receive the mobile
device and offers a
releasable pair of struts that utilize an adjustable nut and lock-arm
tensioner lever to secure it to the
shopping cart handle.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

What is claimed is:
1. For use with a mobile device and having a rigid body and strut assembly for
mounting said bracket
to a shopping cart le frame tube comprising: a mobile device mounting plate
shaped to receive different
styles and sizes of said devices with a releasable interference fit and
including an inboard segment
having a pair of substantially parallel, longitudinally-extending struts
2. The bracket assembly of claim 1 wherein said bracket means is adjustable to
accommodate a variety
of frame tube diameters and positioning.
3. The bracket assembly of claim 2 wherein said bracket means includes first
and second strap members,
at least one of said strap members having the lock-lever.
4. The bracket assembly of claim 3 wherein said strap members are oriented in
opposing relation to
receive said frame tube there between and to lie on opposite sides thereof.
5. The bracket assembly of claim 4 wherein said bracket means includes
connecting members extending
between opposing ends of said strut members, said connecting members being
adjustable whereby a
spacing between said strap members may be varied to clamp said strut members
against frame tubes of
a variety of diameters.
6. The bracket assembly of claim 5 wherein said first and second strut members
are different in design
and construction as shown in Fig. 1 to each other
7. The bracket assembly of claim 6 wherein said connecting members each
comprise nut threaded rod
and lock-lever combination.
8. The bracket assembly of claim 1 wherein said bracket means includes a first
strap member and said
recess means includes a pair of grooves formed in said strap member and shaped
to receive said offset
portions therein.
9. The bracket assembly of claim 8 wherein said bracket means includes a
second strap member
oriented in opposing relation to said first strap member to receive said frame
tube there between and
to lie on opposite sides thereof; and a pair of connecting members extending
between opposing ends of
said strap members, said strap members being adjustable whereby a spacing
between said strap
members may be varied to clamp said strap members against frame tubes of a
variety of diameters.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION 7 ,
= :
The present invention relates to a handlebar mounting accessories brackets for
the frame tube of a
bicycle; frame member attachment and, more particularly, to the minimum of
different parts which
facilitate assembly thereof. In this case the cage assembly is typically
igedior water bottles. In our
invention we have substituted the water bottle cage by a mounting plate to
facilitate the attachment of
a user's mobile device to the bracket and therefore to the shopping cart
handle, and will be apparent
from the following description and drawings.
This shopping cart handle mobile device mounting bracketwill typically have a
rigid assembly for
mounting system allowing a mobile device to be received in a holding cradle
and attach to a shopping
cart handle with the mounting struts. The bracket assembly will comprise of
releasable interference fit
pair of parallel, longitudinally-extending struts, each of said struts having
an offset portion extending
outwardly from said bracket; a first flexible strut member shaped to extend
partially about said frame
tube and having a unitary recesses, open to said frame tube, shaped to receive
said struts therein; a
second flexible strut member shaped to extend partially about said frame tube
and oriented in opposing
relation to said first strap member to receive said frame tube there between
and to lie on opposite sides
thereof; and an adjustable locking system. The said struts members are clamped
against said frame tube
and said struts are clamped by said first strap member against said frame
tube. The bracket attachment
and securing struts will typically made of a resilient material such as a
plastic or metal to secure firmly to
the frame tube by a barrel nut and threaded rod and a plastic or metal lock-
lever bar. The strut will
envelope the tube member and will create a substantial connection between the
bracket and the tube
member
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. 1 is a side elevation of the mobile device mounting bracket assembly are
attached to an assembly
of the present invention, mounted on a section frame tube by threaded rod nut
an lock-bar lever screws
which pass through the struts encompassing the shopping cart tube member.
FIG. 2 is an end elevation taken at showing the strut lock-bar lever and show
the flexibility of placement
on the tube member to affix at a single, predetermined or selected location on
the frame.
Accordingly, it is desirable in some applications to would be the positioned
at either end or centered on
the handle based on consumer's needs. Once positioned on the handle the user
simply utilizes the lock-
bar to securely fasten at the desired location
Fig 3. Shows the opposite end view detailing the tensioning barrel nut, the
second attaching strut.
