Title: Seat transport base.
Technical field
This invention relates to a seat transport base adapted to secure thereto a
seat for seating a
person with limited displacement capacity, such as a baby, an infant, or a
handicapped or
injured person.
Background art
It is often hard or uneasy to transport persons having limited displacement
capacities,
such as babies, handicapped or injured people, or old ones. For example, in
the first year
of baby to have access to the outside and keep active since the Outdoor Baby
Gear for
that time frame are very limited: it is either the Jogging Stroller or the
Snugly Bag. Both
products are great but they for sure have their limitations. With the Jogging
Stroller you
are confined to remain on streets and walking paths and with the Snugly Bag,
the weight
of baby gets really heavy and takes a toll on you at some point on longer
strolls or hikes
and baby's arms and legs blood circulation is cut off... Furthermore, both of
these
products or not really good in the winter time since wheels in the snow are
hard to push
and maneuver and baby carrier on you is dangerous if you ever walk on ice.
Also, if
sleighs are to be considered as winter baby's product, they are not fun during
that first
year of age to be used since they are unstable and tipsy, there is no head
support for baby,
baby slides off all the time even when attached and even when extra clothes
and blankets
are put around him to bring extra stability and also extra warmth... Finally,
putting extra

CA 02808077 2013-02-19
clothes and blankets around him can resolves in death since they are chocking
hazards if
baby gets his face covered by them accidently. By scaling up this example,
this would
also apply to adult people with limited displacement capacity.
Summary of the invention
A primary objective of the invention is therefore to provide a seat transport
board
which mitigates and/or obviates the above-described drawbacks of the prior
art.
Another objective of the invention is to provide a seat transport base seat
transport
base comprising a support base defining an essentially flat upper surface and
a lower
surface, at least one securing system on the upper surface for securing a seat
thereon; and
at least one securing system for securing a displacement means thereto for
displacement
of the seat transport base on the ground.
The seat transport base of the present invention may further include a member
or
means secured thereto for allowing pulling or pushing of said transport base
on the
ground. The pushing or pulling member or means can be, depending on the
context or
needs, a cord or a bar.
A further objective of the invention is to provide a seat transport base onto
which
can be secured and transport a baby seat, or a seat adapted for seating a
person having
limited displacement capacity, such as, but not limited to, a handicapped
person, or a
injured person.
Also depending on the context or needs, one objective of the invention is to
provide a seat transport base thereto which is secured a displacement means
for allowing
the displacement of the seat transport base on the ground. The displacement
means can
be, but not limited to, a set of wheels assembly. The displacement means may
alternatively be, but not limited to, sliding members, such as Teflon sheet,
or skis, of
skate like blades, designed and secured to the seat transport base in manner
to facilitate
the displacement of the seat transport base on the ground.
A further objective of the invention is to provide a seat transport base with
displacement means assembly comprising a suspension system or assembly.

CA 02808077 2013-02-19
According to another objective of the invention, the seat transport base is
comprised of, but not limited to, a panel with a relatively flat upper surface
onto which a
seat can be secured.
Another objective of the invention is to provide a seat transport base
comprising a
container as a base with relatively flat, or flat, upper surface. The
container may be
constructed to have there into a storage space.
One objective of the invention is to provide a seat transport base having
screw
holes on the upper flat or relatively flat, surface or side, for securing a
seat on the upper
surface or for securing a displacement means on said lower surface. The seat
transport
base can be provided also with screw holes on its lower surface for securing
displacement
means according to the present invention. According to another aspect of the
invention,
the securing system is composed of different securing means, which would be
recognized
