English Abstract

It is a novel method WORLD'S FIRST UNDERGROUND WAVE ENERGY CONVERTER
DAMLESS SEA HYDROPOWER PLANT to produce any amount (MW) of
hydropower 24 hours a day and 365 days a year from SEA. It comprises
Turbine-Generator (s) Installed underground to produce electricity and giant
syringes or
multi barrel syringes hydraulic presses and Automatic Locomotives (Diesel or
electric or steam) to discharge (inject) the wastewater (after producing
electricity) back to SEA as shown in the drawing. In this novel method SEA
becomes a RESERVOIR and we can tap (produce) the billions and billions of
stored energy (MW) in the entire SEA (ocean). We can produce the cheapest
electricity in the world 2 to3 KWh for one cent U.S in this method. ft will
take 6
to 12 months to construct and produce electricity in my method. We do not
need oil natural gas uranium thorium coal any more. We do not need wind
power solar power tidal power wave power geothermal power OTEC power or
any other powerany more. My novel method is purely a green technology and
will solve the present power crisis and will solve the world's power crisis
for
ever until the world exists.
This method also may be called as KAMADENU COW METHOD. In the olden days a
HINDU
GOD LORD KRISHNA gave a holy cow to his devotee whose name was KAMADENU which
gave
unlimited milk to any number of visitors. Like that SEA gives us unlimited
(any amount)
hydropower 24 HOURS A DAY 365 DAYS A YEAR CONTINUOUSLY.

DESCRIPTION OF '111.E DRAWINGS:
It is a regular conventional DAM like hydroelectric power plant. We can
A
understand from the the drawing itself how it works. FIG-1 is the DRAWING
for this novel method (representative drawing) and other drawing are for
demonstration purpose only published to understand well about this novel
method through pictures (drawing).
= BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
There have been many Attempts to harness the energy from sea for electrical-
generation .These methods need huge investments to produce electricity. We
need to.find a solution to solve the future power crisis before all our
natural
resources like oil uranium natural gas gasoline and coal are completely
depleted from earth. My novel method to produce electricity from sea will
solve the future power crisis of the world. So far the hydropower is produced
above the ground by conventional DAMS but my method for the first time in
the world electricityir produced below the seashore ground (underground).
My novel method opens a new chapter in the history of hydropower
producing methods. We can produce any amount (MW) of hydropower from
sea (ocean) continuously 24 hours a day 365 days a year. No expensive DAMS
need to be built and we save 70 It investment aOsts. We can build ffice
buildings and transformer stations below the seashore ground (underground)
to protect against cyclones and tsunami threats and we save more
construction costs. We can Produce the cheapest electricity in the world in
this
novel method .We can apply this method and produce electricity within 6
months. We can apply this novel method for pumped storage hydropower
plants to produce electricity continuously 24 hours a day, unlike the present
pumped storage power plants-are operational during peak hours only. We can
apply this novel method for rivers lakes wells or ponds to produce cheap
electricity continuously 24 hours a day .This novel method to produce cheap
electricity will solve the world's future power crisis forever until the world
exists. =

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
.FIG-1 A drawing is the representative drawing for my novel method Fig-lb
Parts name and Fig-1 c explains how my method works FIG-10 ;Explains syringe
method
F1G-2 This drawing explains that my method works on the basis of a syringe
method.
- A - -
----
FIG-3 This drawing explains HOW FIG-1 DRAWING WORKS.
A
The diagram FIG-1 itself shows how hydroelectricity is produced in my novel
method. When the floodgate 13 is opened water flows down from Penstock to
the underground (under seashore) installed Turbine-Generators 11 which turns '

the Turbine- generators to produce electricity continuously 24 hours a day and

365 days a year. The wastewater is collected in a big underground water tank 8

and the Wastewater is sent back to SEA 14 as shown FIG-1. In my novel method
SEA becomes a RESERVOIR and we can tap (produce) billions and billions of
stored (MW) energy insthe entire ocean.
FIG-4 This drawing explains a multi turbine- generators installed underground
16 to produce the required electricity for our needs.
FIG-5 This drawing explains how we can produce hydropower from
underground sea hydropower plant without using a Hydraulic Presses.
FIG-6 This drawing explains that we can discharge any amount of the
wastewater back to SEA using Automatic Locomotives (diesel or electric or
steam) and with or without Hydraulic Presses. For example water flow rate is.
100 m3/s then we can discharge back to SEA 100 m3/s wastewater in one
operation ( in one shot) as shown in the drawing.
FIG-7 This drawing explains various electric and diesel Locomotives
manufactured by GE COMPANY IN U.S.
1. GE DIESEL LOCOMOTOVE. F1G-7 A
MODEL U36CG 3600 Horse Power (2680 KW)
a) 5000 gallon diesel tank capacity
b) 5000 Ton pressure can be applied on any thing.

CA 02839054 2014-01-13
c) 110 km/h speed.
d) 330 KM range.
2. GE ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE: FIG-7 B and 7-C GE Locomotives different Models.
a) Model E60C 4.5 MW
b) Model E6OCH/C60CP (AMTRACK) 4.5 MW
c) Model 8500 HP GTEL-8500 HP 6.3 MW Gas Turbine Locomotive
FIG-8 This drawing explains how we can design a GIANT SYRINGE OR Multi
Barrel Syringe for the underground sea hydropower plant.
AN EXAMPLE
Length = 200 Meters Radius = 10 Meters VOLUME = 62000 m3
For example let us say water flow rate is 1000 m3/s and water head is 100
Meters.
POWER IN KW = 10 x water flow in m3/s x water head in meters
Power in KW =10 x 1000 x 100 x 1000000 KW (1000 MW)
So the water flow rate is 1000 m3/s and we have to design a giant multi barrel

syringe which can hold 60000 m3 water (one minute discharge) capacity syringe
barrels as shown in the drawing. We can design any number of such giant
syringes for the underground sea hydropower plant capacity and we can send
back the discharged wastewater back to SEA immediately.
FIG-9 This drawing explains that we can add additional Automatic Locomotives
as shown in the drawing for large scale underground sea hydropower plants
where we have to discharge large volume of wastewater back to,SEA. A U36 CG
GE Locomotive Model has 5000 ton pressure capacity and if we add one more
GE U36 CG Model Locomotive we have now 10000 ton pressure that can be
applied on the syringe pistons.
FIG-10 This drawing explains how to calculate the needed pressure to be
applied
on syringe pistons.

CA 02839054 2014-01-13
,
1) In this novel method we have to calculate the weight of the water column
in the discharge pipe of the syringe. Let us say the wastewater discharge
pipe height is 100 meters and diameter is 1 meter then the volume is 310
m3 and the weight of the water in the discharge pipe is 310 Tons. Now we
have to apply 4 times the weight of the water column in the discharge
pipe on the syringe piston (s) 310 x 4 = 1240 Ton pressure to be appliero on
syringe 'piston to discharge the wastewater back to SEA. When pr-..-.-ssure is

applied continuously on the syringe piston the wastewater is discharged
continuously back to SEA.
2) This drawing FIG710 explains that we have to calculate the area of the
discharge pipe. For example the discharge pipe Length is =100 Meters
a'nd Radius is I Meter. At 100 meters height (300) it needs 132 LBS per
square inch (PSI) see the chart-next page. For 40071 square inch (AREA)
then 4007.1. x 55 kg (132 LES PSI) = 221396 KG or 221.4 ton pressure
' SHOULD BE APPLIED ON THE SYRINGE'S PISTON by an Automatic
LOCOMTIVE edetric or diesel or steam . A GE E60C Model (6000HP)
z
consumes 4.5 MW or GE Model U36CG 3600 HP Diesel Locomotive has
5000 Ton (PRESSURE) pushing and pulling power (force). We can use
= these Locomotives to push forward and pull backward the syringe pistons
and discka4e the wastewater back to SEA. These calculations is an
example how we can calculate the needed pressure to be applied on the
= syringe pistons USING THE PRESSURE CHART FIG-10 B
HG-11 This drawing explains how to calculate the operational cost of
Locomotive (Example only)
1) ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE OPERATIONAL COSTS
If we use an automatic Locomotive with 3MW power for a 1000
MW underground sea hydro power plant, per day it will cost (2kwh
for one cent U.S ) 360 U.S dollars and for 6 days it will cost 2160 U.S
dollars. It is cheaper to operate an electric Locomotive than a diesel
Locomotive. It is better to use an automatic electric-Locomotive-
because we can obtain electricity from the underground sea
hydropower plant itself.

CA 02839054 2014-01-13
,====57=00
2) AUTOMATIC DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE OPERATIONAL COST
For example if the Syringe length is 50 meters then the diesel
Locomotive has to move So meters forward and 50 meters backward
and for 5 minutes let us say it completes 2 full operations ( forward
and backward movement is calculated as one operation) and for one
hour it completes 24 operations and for 24 hours a day it completes
576 operations. For one full operation the diesel Locomotive has to
move 50 meters forward and 50 meters backwards to a total distance
of 100 meters. Now for 576 operations the diesel Locomotive moves
576 x 100 M = 57600 METERS (57.6 KM). The diesel Locomotive has a
range of 330 KM. It has a 5000 capacity diesel tank. So we can operate
the diesel Locomotive approximately 6 days. If one gallon diesel is 4
U.S dollars 5000 gallon diesel costs 5000 x 4 = 20000 U.S dollars. If we
sell one lcwh electricity for 10 cents U.S then for 6 days we are selling
14.4 M1LUON U.S DOLLARS if we produce 1000 MW.

19) This drawing explains how a syringe works double way (forward and
backward) to discharge the wastewater back to SEA as shown.
Wheii *Ow A is opened(valve B. dosed) water enters into- thiiant Syringe.
Now close, the valve A and move the piston forward to compress the water and
discharge it to :Ate above ground as shown in the diagram. While the piston
maws forward (open valve B) water from turbine's draft tube enters (through
pipe-1) backside of the piston to fill the syringe barrel. Now once water is
discharged to the above ground- open the valve A and close valve B and move
the piston backwards.. The water filled in the back portion of the syringe is
now discharged to the above ground through (pipe-2) the discharge pipe as
shown in the drawing.. While piston moves backward water enters the front
portion of(piston)the syringe barrel An automatic Locomotive (Electric or
.diessa is used to move the piston forward and backward. Repeat the operation.
