English Abstract

The vaporizer is connected to a liquid out let of the propane supply tank. The
liquid propane flows to
High pressure regulator which reduces the pressure to 50 psig. By reducing the
pressure of the liquid.
the enthalpy of the liquid vaporizes about 12% of the propane and the
temperature of the liquid propane
is reduced to 20 degrees F. The propane then flows through a helical coil
which is immersed
in water with antifreeze which is heated by propane vapor burner. The bath
transfers heat to helical
coil which vaporizes the balance of liquid propane. The vapor outlet is then
reduced with a regulator
The the vaporizer is equipped with pressure switch control the pressure and
would shut off the
Bruner if the pressure went to high. This could happen if the vapor demand
exceeded the capacity
Of the vaporizer.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

I claim:
1. A vaporizer that vaporizes liquid petroleum gases into vapor . The
liquid L.P. gases flows into
Helical coil which is immersed in heated water(with antifreeze) bath which
supplies the heat
for the latent heat to vaporize L.P. gases
2. A vaporizer which uses pressure regulator and uses the enthalpy of the
L.P. gases , residual heat
of-the helical coil and the water to supply to start the main burner.
3. A vaporizer that has a system that allows the liquid L.P. gases to flow
back to the supply tank
this prevents a pressure build up in case of an unscheduled shut down.
4. A vaporizer as claim 3 has a check valve which prevents the L.P. gases
from by-passing the
solenoid valve and the high pressure regulator.
5. A vaporizer that has filter and an ,oil trap with a drain to eliminate
compressor and pipe line
rouge.
6. The filter contain molecular sieve and a screen.
7. The vaporizer is equipped with a presser switch that controls the
solenoid valves if the pressure
goes above the operating pressure.
8. The water bath has temperature switch prevents the operating the gas using
devices until the
water bath is up to operating temperature.
9. A vaporizer that supplies L.P. gas at constant temperature and presser
facilitating the right
air/gas ratio for complete combustion and B.T.U. input.
10. The vaporizer is designed to operate with a wide range of L.P. gases .

Description

Note: Descriptions are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

_
Background of the Invention
1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a vaporizer that supplies heat to liquid L.P. gas.
(T o turn one imperial
gal. of propane to vapor takes approx.. 1,000 B.T.U.$) to supply vapour
propane for devise that
Utilize vapor propane and other LP gases.
2.
Description of prior Art.
Vaporizers for liquid propane and other L.P. gases exsist. Most vaporizers use
a boiler
heated with direct flame on the boiler. The commercial propane contain a small
amount
Of butane and other heavier hydro carbons. The lighter propane boils off
leaving the heavier
Hydro-carbons to accumulate until the vaporizer fails.

Description of the Invention
Figure 1 is a schematic side view of the vaporizer
Figure 2 is the electrical circuit of the vaporizer
The liquid petroleum gas flows from the fuel tank 1 through a supply line with
manual shut-off valve
2
.downstream from the from the shut-off in the supply line 3 is a hydrostatic
relief valve 4 a return
flow
By-pass line 6 Is connected to the supply line 3 before the solenoid valve 8
and the high pressure
Regulator 9 a pressure gauge 10 after the regulator 9 . the inlet of the by-
pass line 6 is connected
to the supply line 3 at this point. The by-pass line has check valve 7 that
prevents the liquid
petroleum from by passing the solenoid valve 8 and the high pressure regulator
9 the supply line
then enters the water-bath 12 and into a helical coil 15 . The hot water
vaporizes the liquid
petroleum.
A pressure switch 16 controls the solenoid valves.
The vapor petroleum then flows through a second stage regulator 17 and into an
oil trap
19 with a drain 18 . a supply line from the main supply line with low pressure
regulator 21 supplies
Gas to the water heater control 23 and the main burner 24 which heats the
water bath 12
Control 23 is complete with temperature control, and a gas line for the main
burner 24 . The water-
bath
Flue and a vent cap 13 and filler outlet with a cap 14 . The water-bath has
temperature switch 11
Which controls solenoid 20 and prevents starting the gas burning equipment 22
until the water
bath has reached operating temperature .'
The electrical circuit has momentary switch fig 2 -1 to start the vaporizer
and is a manual reset if there
is an unscheduled shut-down. Solenoid valve fig.2 ¨2 opens to start the
vaporizer and solenoid valve
fig.2-4 opens when all the requirements are met. The temperature switch fig.2-
3 closes the water bath
temperature reaches operating temperature.
