English Abstract

An air blower comprises a motor (1), a volute casing (2), a cover plate (3)
and a wind
wheel (4). The volute casing (2) and the cover plate (3) are mounted together
to form a
cavity (21). The wind wheel (4) is arranged inside the cavity (21). The motor
(1) is
mounted on the volute casing (2), and the shaft extension end (11) of the
motor (1)
extends into the cavity (21) and is connected to the wind wheel (4). An air
inlet (31) is
formed in the center of the cover plate (3). An air outlet (22) is formed in
the side surface
of the volute casing (2). The air inlet (31) and the air outlet (22) are both
communicated
with the cavity (21). A plurality of annular protrusions (32) is arranged on
the inner side
wall surface of the cover plate (3) and is centered around the air inlet (31).
Therefore, air
leakage between the wind wheel and the cover plate is effectively reduced, and
the
blowing efficiency of the air blower is improved.

AIR BLOWER
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The utility model relates to an air blower.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] As shown in FIG. 1, in existing air blowers, to prevent the mechanical
friction between
the fan impeller Al and the cover plate A2 resulting from the bounce of the
fart impeller Al,
generally, there is clearance allowance between the fan impeller Al and the
cover plate A2. Due
to the viscosity, the gas is adapted to flow along the outer wall of the fan
impeller Al, and enters
the area of the air inlet A3 along the gap between the fan impeller Al and the
cover plate A2, thus
causing the leakage of the gas. As a result, the gap between the fan impeller
Al and the cover
plate A2 causes the loss of the air pressure and reduces the efficiency of the
air blower.
SUMMARY OF ME INVENTION
[0003] In view of the above:described problems, it is one objective of the
utility model to
provide an air blower that can effectively reduce the gas leakage between the
fan impeller and
the cover plate, thus improving the blowing efficiency of the air blower.
[0004] To achieve the above objective, the following technical solutions are
provided.
[0005] An air blower, comprises: a motor, a scroll casing, a cover plate, and
a fan impeller. The
scroll casing is integrated with the cover plate to form a chamber; the fan
impeller is disposed in
the chamber; the motor is disposed on the scroll casing; a drive end of the
motor is inserted into
the chamber and is connected to the fan impeller; an air inlet is disposed on
the central part of the
cover plate; an air outlet is disposed on a side surface of the scroll casing;
the air inlet and the air
outlet communicate with the chamber; a plurality of annular lug bosses is
disposed on an inner
side wall surface of the cover plate and centers around the air inlet.

May. 1. 2018 8:52PM No, 2349
P. 14/21
[0006] Preferably, a height of the annular lug bosses is gradually decreased
from a center of the
cover plate to an outer edge of the cover plate.
[0007] Preferably, a cross-section of the annular lug bosses is triangular.
[0008] Preferably, a cross-section of the annular lug bosses is trapezoidal.
[0009] Preferably, an outer edge of the inner side wall surface of the cover
plate is provided with
an annular baffle; and a bottom of the fan impeller is inserted into the
annular baffle.
[0010] Preferably, a top of the annular baffle is provided with a filleted
corner.
[0011] Advantages of the air blower according to embodiments of the utility
model are
summarized as follows:
[0012] 1. A plurality of annular lug bosses is disposed on an inner side wall
surface of the cover
plate and centers around the air inlet, effectively reducing gas leakage
between the fan impeller
and the cover plate, thereby improving the blowing efficiency of the air
blower.
[0013] 2. The height of the annular lug bosses is gradually decreased from a
center of the cover
plate to an outer edge of the cover plate. Jitter of the fan impeller gets
obvious near the outer
edge of the fan impeller, in order to reduce the mechanical friction between
the fan impeller and
the cover plate caused by jitter, the height of the annular lug bosses is
gradually decreased from
the center of the cover plate to the outer edge of the cover plate.
[0014] 3. An outer edge of the inner side wall surface of the cover plate is
provided with an
annular baffle. A bottom of the fan impeller is inserted into the annular
baffle, so as to prevent
the airflow from entering into the gap between the scroll casing and the fan
impeller, further
reducing gas leakage between the fan impeller and the cover plate, thereby
improving the
blowing efficiency of the air blower.
[0015] 4. The top of the annular baffle is provided with a filleted corner,
thus reducing noise.
