IMPROVED JAR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
TECHNICAL FIELD
This application relates to jars. In particular it relates to child-proof
jars.
SUMMARY
An improved container and method of manufacturing same is provided herein
which in
one aspect provides an inner glass jar to safely hold a product such as
medical
marijuana, while providing an outer jar which in one aspect is plastic with
space for
warning labels to meet regulatory guidelines. In one aspect the contents of
the inner
glass jar are protected from unauthorised access through means of placement
within a
false bottom, and through means of a child proof lock on the outer jar.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
Figure 1 shows a cross section of one possible configuration of the inner jar,
which in a
preferred embodiment is made of glass, and contains features child proofing
features,
which may be as shown herein.
Figure 2 shows the inner face of one possible configuration of the outer jar
and contains
child proofing features. In some embodiments the outer jar is composed of a
hardened
plastic.
Figure 3 shows one possible configuration of the outer jar lid, with
corresponding teeth
to facilitate child proofing when placed on the corresponding body of the
outer jar.
Figure 4 shows one possible configuration of the bottom component of the outer
jar,
comprising a 'false bottom' which after removal of the child proofing feature,
can be
opened to facilitate access to a hidden compartment which can contain the
inner jar.
Figure 5 shows an alternative possible configuration of the bottom component
shown in
Figure 4.

Figures 6 and 7 show partially assembled and assembled jars, according to
embodiments of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
In one embodiment an inner jar, which may be of the type shown in Figure 1, is
affixed
within a false bottom, which may of the type shown in Figure 4 or Figure 5.
The affixture
may be done by means of an ultraviolet cured adhesive.
A lid for the outer jar can be formed by combining the lid components shown in
Figure 2
and 3. In one example this consists of inserting the component shown in Figure
2 into
Figure 3. Once combined the combined lid can be used a lid for the outer jar,
which can
then be attached to an inner jar as shown on Figure 1 through the
corresponding
threads shown on Figure 1 or through other means, resulting in the creation of
a false
bottom such as seen more fully in Figure 4 in one configuration, and Figure 5
in another
configuration. This results in a 'two fold' protection of the contents of the
inner jar, the
first being a child proof locking mechanism, and the second being the false
bottom.
This configuration is of particular benefit where the component is required to
be
protected from access from minors for practical and or legal reasons, such as
medicinal
marijuana or components containing cannabis derivatives.
A further optional feature of the configuration shown is that while the inner
jar can
consist of something air tight and odour resistant such as glass, the outer
container can
be a lighter or more economic material such as plastic. A further optional
feature is to
utilize the larger space on the wall of the outer container for purposes of
placing warning
labels which may be required by law, advertising, or other written material.
The outer jar
can thus provide a place for meeting regulatory compliance, while the inner
container
can practically and aesthetically store material without direct labeling. In
one
embodiment the inner jar consists of a clear glass without marking, which
allows for the

ready visual inspection and identification of the components, while the outer
jar contains
safety warnings and the like.
Throughout the description, specific details have been set forth in order to
provide a
more thorough understanding of the invention. However, the invention may be
practiced
without these particulars. In other instances, well known elements have not
been shown
or described in detail and repetitions of steps and features have been omitted
to avoid
unnecessarily obscuring the invention. Accordingly, the specification is to be
regarded in
an illustrative, rather than a restrictive, sense.
All dimensions, proportions and materials herein are examples only, and other
dimensions, proportions and materials are possible in other embodiments. It
will be
clear to one having skill in the art that further variations to the specific
details disclosed
herein can be made, resulting in further embodiments that are within the scope
of the
invention disclosed.
