Temporary Plugging Screen Pipe
Technical Field
The application relates to the field of oil and gas production equipment, in
particular
to a temporary plugging screen pipe.
Background Art
Sand control screen pipes are widely used in the construction of oil wells,
gas wells
and water wells in oil and gas fields. During construction, it is necessary to
connect a
construction string with the sand control screen pipe, so that liquid and gas
can enter a
production fairway after being filtered through the sand control screen pipe.
However, since conventional sand control screen pipes are through pipes, when
encountering resistance during well entry, it is impossible to realize cyclic
sand
washing and blockage removal, instead, a sand control production string needs
to be
tripped out and a sand washing and blockage removal tool needs to be tripped
in,
which is both costly and risky. In acidizing operation, the same well entry
problem
exists too. Additionally, in acidizing operation, the conventional sand
control screen
pipe can cause acid to flow out from a through hole of the sand control screen
pipe,
thus being unable to ensure that acid is injected into a shaft bottom.
The above technical problems need to be solved.
Summary of the Invention
The main purpose of the invention is to provide a temporary plugging screen
pipe,
which can solve the technical problems that conventional sand control screen
pipes
cannot realize cyclic sand washing and blockage removal and are not conducive
to
acidizing operation.
To solve the above technical problems, the embodiment of the application
provides
the following technical solution:
1

through
holes in the pipe body and are made of the soluble polymer, so that when a
sand
control production string formed by the sand control screen pipe and an oil
pipe is
lowered into a well, the through holes in the pipe body are plugged, and
therefore for
the sand control production string, only a pipe mouth on the ground and a pipe
mouth
at a shaft bottom are open, and other parts are plugged; at this point, if
encountering
resistance, it is possible to carry out cyclic sand washing and blockage
removal
without taking out the sand control production string and tripping in a sand
washing
and blockage removal tool, which effectively reduces the working cost of
cyclic sand
washing and blockage removal; in addition, during acidizing operation, acid
liquid
injected from the pipe mouth on the ground can directly reach the shaft
bottom, and
then flow back and out, thus ensuring smooth acidification and avoiding the
situation
in the prior art that acid liquid flows out of the sand control screen pipe
and cannot be
injected into the shaft bottom.

Detailed Description of the Invention
Exemplary embodiments of the disclosure will be described in more detail below
with
reference to the accompanying drawings. Although exemplary embodiments of the

thorough
understanding of the disclosure and to fully convey the scope of the

those skilled in the art.
It should be noted that, unless otherwise specified, the technical terms or
scientific
terms used in the application shall have the general meaning understood by
those
skilled in the field to which the application belongs.
As shown in Figs. 1-4, a temporary plugging screen pipe provided by the
embodiment
of the invention comprises:
Date Recue/Date Received 2021-03-09

a pipe body 1, a sand control sleeve 2 and temporary plugging parts 3; a wall
of
the pipe body 1 is provided with a plurality of through holes 11, and a wall
of
each through hole 11 is provided with a first connecting structure 111; a side
wall
of the sand control sleeve 2 is provided with sieve holes 21, and the pipe
body 1
is sleeved with the sand control sleeve 2 so that the through holes 11 are
covered,
allowing fluid to sequentially pass through the sieve holes 21 and the through
holes 11 before entering the pipe body 1; and a side wall of each temporary
plugging part 3 is provided with a second connecting structure 31, the
temporary
plugging parts 3 are plugged in the through holes 11, and the first connecting
structures 111 are connected with the second connecting structures 31; wherein
the temporary plugging parts 3 are made of soluble polymer.
In specific implementation, the pipe body 1 is the same as an oil pipe running
into the
well, with a unique feature that the through holes 11 are formed in the wall
to allow
oil, gas, water and other products in a reservoir to pass through, so the
structure and
material of the pipe body 1 are not described in detail in this embodiment of
the
invention. The walls of the through holes 11 in the wall of the pipe body 1
need to be
provided with the first connecting structures 111, so as to be connected with
the
temporary plugging parts 3, and the first connecting structures 111 need to be
matched
with the second connecting structures 31 on the temporary plugging parts 3 to
ensure
the connecting strength with the temporary plugging parts 3, so as to bear
certain
pressure.
The sand control sleeve 2 is a structure for retaining sand which is sleeved
on the
outer wall of the pipe body 1. One can refer to the structure of the sand
control sleeve
2 of the current sand control screen pipe, which may be a single-layer sand
control
screen sleeved on the outer wall of the pipe body 1, or a sandwich structure
with sand
control objects arranged in a sandwich layer. It should be noted that the sand
control
sleeve 2 needs to cover all the through holes 11 in the wall of the pipe body
1, so that
all the reservoir products pass through the sieve holes 21 of the sand control
sleeve 2
first, then enter the through holes 11, and finally enter the pipe body 1 to
be extracted
6
Date Recue/Date Received 2021-03-09

on the ground. The sieve holes 21 of the sand control sleeve 2 are preferably
bridge-shaped punched holes, that is, the metal at the center of the punched
hole of
the sand control sleeve 2 is raised through punching, two opposite sides are
connected
with a main body of the sand control sleeve 2, and the other two opposite
sides are
separated from the main body of the sand control sleeve 2 to form a bridge-
like
structure. This is like putting a piece of metal in front of the sieve holes
21, so that gas
or liquid passes through side openings, which can effectively reduce the
impact force
and block mud and sand to a certain degree.
The temporary plugging parts 3 are used for temporarily plugging the through
holes
11 in the pipe body 1, and need to be made of a soluble polymer, that is, the
temporary plugging parts 3 only temporarily plug the through holes 11 in the
pipe
body 1, and when the cyclic sand washing and blockage removal work is done
and/or
the acidizing operation is completed, the temporary plugging parts 3 will be
slowly
pulverized with the contact with water or oil, so that the through holes 11 of
the pipe
body 1 become open, which means that a channel, communicating with the
outside, of
the temporary plugging screen pipe is opened, so that normal production can be
started. The soluble polymer can be polyglycolic acid, either low molecular
weight
polyglycolic acid or high molecular weight polyglycolic acid can be selected
as
needed, and other materials can be used as the soluble polymer too. The
specific
selection method is known to those skilled in the art, and will not be
explained here.
In addition, the second connecting structures 31 on the side walls of the
temporary
plugging parts 3 need to be matched with the first connecting structures 111
in the
through holes 11 of the pipe body 1, and connecting strength needs to be
ensured, so
that certain pressure, for example, 2-3 MPa, can be borne while the through
holes 11
are plugged.
The temporary plugging screen pipe provided by the embodiment of the invention
is
additionally provided with the temporary plugging parts 3, which can plug the
through holes 11 in the pipe body 1 and are made of the soluble polymer, so
that when
a sand control production string formed by the sand control screen pipe and an
oil
7
Date Recue/Date Received 2021-03-09

pipe is lowered into a well, the through holes 11 in the pipe body 1 are
plugged, and
therefore for the sand control production string, only a pipe mouth on the
ground and
a pipe mouth at a shaft bottom are open, and other parts are plugged; at this
point, if
encountering resistance, it is possible to carry out cyclic sand washing and
blockage
removal without taking out the sand control production string and tripping in
a sand
washing and blockage removal tool, which effectively reduces the working cost
of
cyclic sand washing and blockage removal; in addition, during acidizing
operation,
acid liquid injected from the pipe mouth on the ground can directly reach the
shaft
bottom, and then flow back and out, thus ensuring smooth acidification and
avoiding
the situation in the prior art that acid liquid flows out of the sand control
screen pipe
and cannot be injected into the shaft bottom.
In specific implementation, the first connecting structures 111 and the second
connecting structures 31 may be of various structures, and the corresponding
through
holes 11 and the temporary plugging parts 3 may also have various structures,
and the
preferred ones are selected as examples in the embodiment of the invention:
In a first case, as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, the through holes 11 may be
circular
straight holes, the temporary plugging parts 3 may be cylindrical, the first
connecting
structures 111 are of an internal thread type, the second connecting
structures 31 are
of an external thread type, and the temporary plugging parts 3 are in threaded
connection with the through holes 11.
Specifically, in this case, each temporary plugging part 3 may be in a stud
shape, a
straight groove or a cross groove for screw-driving is formed in one end, and
the
straight groove 32 or the cross groove extends from a first end to a second
end of the
temporary plugging part 3. The groove may also be in other shapes, such as a
polygonal groove.
Further, to avoid affecting the assembly between the pipe body 1 and the sand
control
sleeve 2 and the circulation of liquid inside the pipe body 1 while the
temporary
plugging parts 3 plug the through holes 11, the length of the temporary
plugging parts
8
Date Recue/Date Received 2021-03-09

3 can be set equal to or less than the thickness of the wall of the pipe body
1, and both
ends of each temporary plugging part 3 are flush with or lower than the inner
and
outer surfaces of the wall of the pipe body 1.
In a second case, as shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the through holes 11 can be
set as
circular straight holes, the temporary plugging parts 3 can be cylindrical,
the first
connecting structures 111 can be set as clamping grooves or clamping blocks,
and the
second connecting structures 31 can be correspondingly set as clamping blocks
or
clamping grooves.
Specifically, in this case, the temporary plugging parts 3 are connected with
the
through holes 11 through clamping, the clamping grooves may be a through
groove
surrounding the walls of the through holes 11 and two or more of them can be
arranged side by side, or the clamping grooves can be discontinuous grooves
arranged
around the walls of the through holes 11 and two or more of them can be
arranged
side by side, and then the clamping blocks are matched with the clamping
grooves
and adaptively arranged on the side walls of the temporary plugging parts 3.
Or
reversely, the above-mentioned clamping blocks can be arranged on the walls of
the
through holes 11, and the blocking grooves are formed in the side walls of the
temporary plugging parts 3, which will not be described in detail. The
specific
structures of the clamping grooves and the clamping blocks are not limited, as
long as
certain pressure can be borne after the temporary plugging parts 3 are
connected with
the through holes 11 through clamping.
Further, to avoid affecting the assembly between the pipe body 1 and the sand
control
sleeve 2 and the circulation of liquid inside the pipe body 1 while the
temporary
plugging parts 3 plug the through holes 11, the length of the temporary
plugging parts
3 can be set equal to or less than the thickness of the wall of the pipe body
1, and both
ends of each temporary plugging part 3 are flush with or lower than the inner
and
outer surfaces of the wall of the pipe body 1.
In a third case, the through holes 11 may be tapered holes (not shown in the
figure, the
9
Date Recue/Date Received 2021-03-09

through hole in Fig. 1 can be directly replaced with a tapered hole), that is,
the
diameter of the through holes 11 gradually decreases from an inner surface to
an outer
surface of the wall of the pipe body 1; the temporary plugging parts 3 are in
a
truncated cone shape and are elastic; and then, a connecting cord is arranged
in a
middle portion of each temporary plugging part 3 in a penetrating mode, and
both
ends of each connecting cord extend out of the two ends of the corresponding
temporary plugging part 3 respectively by a preset distance. The first
connecting
structures 111 are of an internal thread type, and the second connecting
structures 31
are of an external thread type.
Specifically, the temporary plugging parts 3 can be plugged in the through
holes 11 by
pulling the connecting cords, the temporary plugging parts 3 can be matched
with the
through holes 11 through elastic deforming, and the first connecting
structures 111
can be matched with the second connecting structures 31. Besides, the strength
and
hardness of the temporary plugging parts 3 can be increased by heating curing
or
chemical curing, so as to ensure the connecting strength between the temporary
plugging parts 3 and the through holes 11 to bear certain pressure.
In a fourth case, the through holes 11 may be tapered holes (not shown in the
figure,
the through hole in Fig. 3 can be directly replaced with a tapered hole), that
is, the
diameter of the through holes 11 gradually decreases from an inner surface to
an outer
surface of the wall of the pipe body 1; the temporary plugging parts 3 are in
a
truncated cone shape and are elastic; a connecting cord is arranged in a
middle portion
of each temporary plugging part 3 in a penetrating mode, and both ends of each
Date Recue/Date Received 2021-03-09

connecting cord extend out of the two ends of the corresponding temporary
plugging
part 3 respectively by a preset distance; and then, the first connecting
structures 111
are arranged as clamping grooves or clamping blocks, and the second connecting
structures 31 are correspondingly clamping blocks or clamping grooves.
Specifically, one can refer to the description in the second case for the
structures of
the clamping grooves or clamping blocks, which will not be repeated here.
During
assembly, the temporary plugging parts 3 can be plugged in the through holes
11 by
pulling the connecting cords, the temporary plugging parts 3 can be matched
with the
through holes 11 through elastic deforming, and the first connecting
structures 111
can be matched with the second connecting structures 31. Besides, the strength
and
hardness of the temporary plugging parts 3 can be increased by heating curing
or
chemical curing, so as to ensure the connecting strength between the temporary
plugging parts 3 and the through holes 11 to bear certain pressure.
In specific implementation, the temporary plugging screen pipe provided by the
embodiment of the invention further comprises soluble gum layers (not shown in
the
figure) disposed between the first connecting structures 111 and the second
connecting structures 31.
Specifically, the arrangement of the soluble gum layers not only improves the
connecting strength between the temporary plugging parts 3 and the through
holes 11,
but also enhances the sealing performance of a connecting position of the two.
The soluble gum layers are made of an oil-soluble temporary plugging agent,
and the
11

specific formula and use mode of the oil-soluble temporary plugging agent are
known
to those skilled in the art, which are not limited here. The oil-soluble
temporary
plugging agent is available in the market.
In specific implementation, the sand control sleeve 2 comprises an inner
protective
sleeve and an outer protective sleeve which are sleeved together, the inner
protective
sleeve and the outer protective sleeve are both provided with the sieve holes
21, and
an interlayer is formed between the inner protective sleeve and the outer
protective
sleeve and filled with sand control particles; wherein the grain size of the
sand control
particles is larger than the size of a maximum opening position of the sieve
holes 21.
Specifically, the sand control particles can be ceramic particles, quartz sand
particles,
etc.
The above embodiments are described with different emphases. For those parts
that

However,
it should be understood that the embodiments of the invention may be practiced
without these specific details. In some instances, well-known structures and
techniques have not been shown in detail so as not to obscure the
understanding of the
specification.
Similarly, it should be understood that in the above description of exemplary
embodiments of the invention, various features of the invention are sometimes
grouped together into a single embodiment, figure, or description thereof in
order to
streamline the present disclosure and help understand one or more of the
various

inventive aspects. However, the disclosed device should not be interpreted as
reflecting the intention that the claimed invention requires more features
than are
expressly recited in each claim. Rather, as the following claims reflect,
inventive
aspects lie in less than all features of a single foregoing disclosed
embodiment. Thus,
the claims following the detailed description are hereby expressly
incorporated into
this detailed description, with each claim standing on its own as a separate
embodiment of this invention.
It can be understood by those skilled in the art that the components in the
device in
one embodiment can be adaptively changed and arranged in one or more devices
different from the embodiment. The components in the embodiments may be
combined into one component, or divided into a plurality of sub-components.
Except
that at least some of such features are mutually exclusive, all features
disclosed in this
specification (including accompanying claims, abstract and drawings) and all
components of any device so disclosed may be combined in any combination.
Unless
explicitly stated otherwise, each feature disclosed in this specification
(including
accompanying claims, abstract and drawings) may be replaced by alternative
features
that provide the same, equivalent or similar purpose.
In addition, those skilled in the art can understand that although some
embodiments
described herein include some features included in other embodiments rather
than
other features, combinations of features of different embodiments are meant to
be
within the scope of the invention and form different embodiments. For example,
in
the following claims, any one of the claimed embodiments can be used in any
combination. The various component embodiments of the invention may be
implemented in hardware or in a combination thereof.
The above are only specific embodiments of the application, but the protection
scope
of the application is not limited thereto. Anyone skilled in the art can
easily think of
changes or substitutions within the technical scope disclosed in the
application, which
should be covered within the protection scope of the application. Therefore,
