English Abstract

Re-Doo Bags are a reusable dog waste bag made using a lightweight, flexible,
waterproof
fabric, such as polyurethane laminated fabric. Re-Doo Bags are waterproof,
washable, and
reusable. They are easy to use; simply turn the Re-Doo Bag inside out
(waterproof side
out) on the hand, pick up the dog waste, fold the clean fabric side back over
to carry the
Re-Doo Bag. To dispose of the dog waste, do the reverse of the pickup motion
to avoid
getting waste on the top of the fabric. Deposit the dog waste into a dog waste
composter or
into a toilet bowl and as you flush, let the inside (waterproof side) of the
Re-Doo Bag rinse
out in the incoming fresh toilet water to clean off any contaminants. As the
hand is inside
the laminated fabric, it stays dry. Hang bag to dry.

-5-
CLAIMS
1. The Invention is a reusable bag for the collection, transportation, and
disposal of dog
waste.
2. The dog waste bag recited in claim 1 is a single reusable bag intended to
pick up,
transport and dispose of dog waste in a toilet or dog waste composter.
3. The reusable dog waste bag recited in claim 2, consists of a lightweight,
flexible
waterproof fabric, such as polyurethane laminated fabric, formed into a two
layered
rectangular shape, joined on three sides with an opening on one of the shorter
sides.
4. The reusable dog waste bag recited in claim 3 consists of waterproof
material on the
inside of the bag and therefore the non-waterproof fabric side is on the
outside of the bag
for the user to hold.
5. The seams of the reusable dog waste bag recited in claim 4 are comprised of
a seam on
the outside of the non waterproof side from claim 3 thereby keeping the inside
seams
smooth for rinsing away contaminants.
6. The reusable dog waste bag seams recited in claim 5 consist of an
additional waterproof
sealant to seal the holes made when joining said seams.
7. The reusable dog waste bag recited in claim 6 consists of a waterproof
barrier between
the dog waste and user during pick up, transportation, when the waste is
deposited into a
dog waste composter or a toilet, as well as when rinsing contaminants off the
reusable dog
waste bag in the incoming toilet fresh flush water.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
Re-Doo Bags are in the field of pet products. Specifically, they relate to the
collection and
disposal of dog waste with a reusable product.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Most cities in North America have laws requiring dog owners to pick up their
dog's waste in
public spaces. The most prevalent urban method is to use a plastic dog waste
bag and to
dispose of the plastic bag with the dog waste into the garbage. The growth of
dog
ownership has led to a significant increase in the amount of dog waste and
plastic bags
going into landfills.
PRIOR ART
The following information is useful in understanding the Re-Doo Bags. It is
not an
admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art nor
material to the
Invention, nor that any publication or document that is specifically or
implicitly referenced
as prior art.
=W01991003954A1 Flushable dog waste bag made of paper that is on one side
laminated with a water-soluble material and thereby a flushable bag..
.U.S. Pat. No. 6102457A a system of a fabric dog waste bag with a flushable
paper
liner.
=U510780666 B6 reusable storage bags with a double locking closure method.
.U.S. Pat. Pub. No. 20090084321 a flushable type of biodegradable collection
bag.
=W02008080205 an animal waste collector bag with flaps for picking up waste
that
fold into a closing seal. Bag is disposable.
Re-Doo Bags have benefits over the above-noted flushable waste bags as
flushable waste
bags can clog up sewer and septic systems. Also, as flushable bags break down
when
moist, they can begin to break down in wet weather or when the waste is moist.
Moreover,
flushable waste bags are single use, whereas Re-Doo Bags are reusable.
Therefore, Re-

Doo Bags have many years of use, are very durable in all weather and duration
of walks
and provide options to either flush the dog waste or place it in a dog waste
com poster
before rinsing off contaminants.
A flushable paper liner needs to be replaced for each use, must be fully
flushable, and
cannot leak. Re-Doo Bags have no refills to purchase, nothing to set up before
picking up
dog waste and the waterproof lining inside is easily rinsed.
The other type of bag listed with a double locking seal, while reusable, has
been developed
for storing food products such as in lunch kits, not for the collection,
transportation, and
disposal of dog waste.
Disposable products are at a great disadvantage as they involve ongoing
purchases and
when thrown into the garbage they end up at the landfill where, due to
layering and
compacting of the materials, do not decompose as the environment lacks the
proper
balance of air, moisture, nutrients, and temperature to biodegrade organic
matter. Re-Doo
Bags can be used for years, thus keeping both dog waste and single use bags
out of the
landfill.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The United States Environmental Protection Agency and many Canadian
municipalities
recommend flushing dog waste for eco-friendly reasons. Re-Doo Bags provide a
reusable
option to pick up dog waste, transport it on a dog walk and to deposit the
waste into the
toilet where the reusable Invention is rinsed to be used again therefore
eliminating the use
of single use plastics that are environmental contaminants. Re-Doo Bags also
provide the
option of placing the dog waste in a dog waste com poster before rinsing off
contaminants.
Dog waste com posters are widely available to purchase or to make at home as
an eco-
friendly alternative. Since Re-Doo Bags are waterproof, the user keeps their
hands clean
from contact with the waste and the contaminants rinse quickly off the
waterproof side in
fresh toilet flush water.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The Re-Doo Bags use lightweight, flexible, waterproof fabric, such as
polyurethane
laminated fabric, sewn into an elongated rectangular bag (Figure 1) joined on
three sides
with one shorter side open. The waterproof fabric needs to be flexible to
allow it to form
around the user's hand for pick ups (Figure 2) and are waterproof on the
inside to contain
the dog waste and clean easily in the toilet (Figure 4). Re-Doo Bags are
joined, waterproof
sides together, with the seams joined on the outside to keep the inside
waterproof material
as easy to clean as possible. The seams are then treated with a waterproofing
sealer, such
as a silicone based sealer, that will seal the sewing holes for waterproofing.
Re-Doo Bags
will be made in various sizes to accommodate the different sizes of dog waste
due to the
different sizes and diets of dogs.
To use the Re-Doo Bags, the user turns the bag inside out on the user's hand
and, like in a
fingerless glove, picks up the dog waste. With the waste in hand, the user
folds the fabric
back into the original orientation which places the waste at the bottom of the
Re-Doo Bag.
The Re-Doo Bag can then be carried (Fig. 3) or placed in a fabric bag attached
to any
leash. To empty the Re-Doo Bag, the user does the reverse of the pickup motion
to avoid
getting waste on the top of the bag and puts the waste into a toilet or dog
waste com poster.
Any contaminants on the waterproof fabric are rinsed off in a toilet using the
incoming fresh
toilet water. The bag can be left to dry or reused immediately if desired.
