Ti t I e: I MPROVED CONNECT! ON SYSTEM FOR CONNECT! NG WOOD ELEMENTS
TO A REI NFORCED CONCRETE ELEMENT OF A BUI LDI NG, METHOD FOR
PRODUCI NG THE CONNECT! ON, AND CONSTRUCT! ON KI T
* * * *
The present i nventi on rel at es to a connect i on system for
wooden el ements with a rei nf orced concrete el ement of a
bui I di ng accordi ng to the preambl e of cl ai m 1 and a met hod
usi ng the devi ce accordi ng to the i nventi on and a kit
accordi ng to the i nventi on.
The scope of the present i nventi on i s connect i ons between
structural wooden el ements and structural rei nf orced concrete
el ements. A part i cul ar probl em i n t hi s area i s that after the
rei nf orced concrete has been poured, either a wooden el ement
must be fastened usi ng a connect i ng devi ce that penetrates the
rei nf orced concrete or part of the devi ce must be i nserted
i nto the concrete formwork before pouri ng. The second met hod
i n part i cul ar requi res a hi gh I evel of preci si on that cannot
al ways be achi eyed due to the exact t ol erances for posi ti oni ng
and f asteni ng are only known after the components have been
cast or laid out. This is particularly problematic because i n
concrete constructi on the tol erances are i n the cm range,
whi le in wooden constructi on the t ol erances are i n the mm
range.
State of the art
A one-piece angle is known from EP 2 093 335, in which a first
part of the angl e i s fastened to a surf ace usi ng connect i ng
means, e.g. screws that penetrate the constructi on are
attached to a surface and a second component i s al so attached
at an angl e usi ng screws or nail s, creati ng a connect i on
between the two components.

From the GAH Al berts catal ogue, a brace bracket for masts and
the I i ke i s known, whi ch has a base that can be i nserted i nto
a concrete cast i ng, the base has a grooved structure and on
this base there is an L-shaped angle with holes for f asteni ng
a wooden component, e.g. a wooden post. The problem that
an ses with the consol e descri bed i s that the consol e must be
posi ti oned preci sel y and correctly before I ayi ng out and
subsequent concreti ng so that all t ol erances are adhered to.
From US 20200165812 a system for f asteni ng a concrete
foundation is known, whi ch then fixes an additional component.
However, there i s no system that all ows the base to be
adj usted after the concrete has been pl aced. The base i s
fastened mechani call y, whi ch requi res access to the f asteni ng
area and therefore an openi ng i n the wall for access to the
f asteni ng screws and al so does not all ow compensati on
t ol erances i n all di recti ons. The US publ i cat i on i s desi gned
for vertical forces and not lateral forces.
A f asteni ng system for a rei nf orced concrete base i s al so
known from US 5375384, but t hi s system does not all ow the base
to be adj usted after the concrete has been pl aced. The base i s
attached mechani call y, whi ch requi res access to the attachment
area and therefore an openi ng i n the wall to access the screws
for attachment and al so does not all ow for compensati on
t ol erances i n all di recti ons.
The US publ i cat i on i s desi gned for verti cal forces, not
lateral forces.
The ai m of the present i nventi on is to real i ze a system that
all ows, in a fi rst step, to posi ti on an el ement f ormi ng the
seat for the connect i ng devi ce, and i n t hi s way to obtai n
greater t ol erances i n posi ti oni ng before pouri ng mortar,
cement, concrete and the I i ke and thus have the possi bi I i ty of
correct i ng the posi ti on of the connect i ng devi ce without

with the ai d of a system accordi ng to the i nventi on.
What i s proposed i s a connect i on system consi sti ng of at I east
two hol I ow bodi es made of metal or pl asti c, i n part i cul ar of a
tubul ar and/or rectangul ar shape, whi ch advantageously have a
corrugated outer surf ace and/or anchori ng el ements and/or a
rough outer surface, whi ch are sui tabl e for bei ng used i n a
formwork or the I i ke i nto whi ch concrete, rei nf orced concrete,
mortar or the I i ke i s poured. Advantageously, the hol I ow
bodi es al so have a corrugated/ rough i nner surf ace and/or
anchori ng el ements arranged on the i nner surf ace and/or a
rough surface. These hol I ow bodi es form the seat for i nserti ng
a base made of metal I i c mat eri al accordi ng to the i nventi on.
The base made of metal I i c mat eri al , whi ch i s connected i n a
preferred manner to a pl ate and/or an angl e, i s formed i n one
pi ece, the pl ate and/or angl e havi ng hol es or connect i ng
el ements for connect i ng the pl ate and/or the angl e to a second
wooden component on. The hol I ow body has a I arger hori zont al
cross sect i on, whi ch all ows the base i nserted i nto the hol I ow
body to be moved hori zont al I y by at least 10mm.
The hol I ow body can be open on both si des or one- si ded, e. g. a
tube cl osed by a lid and/or a casi ng.
Thi s all ows an easy posi ti oni ng and enough space to choose the
f i nal posi ti on of the bases.
The devi ce accordi ng to the i nventi on compri ses at I east two
bases, each of whi ch i s i nserted i nto a hol I ow body.

mat er i al around the hol I ow body, i n a second step at I east two
bases of the devi ce are each i nserted i nto a hol I ow body
accordi ng to the i nventi on.
Ina further step, the wooden wall i s pl aced on the pl ate
and/or the angle by pl aci ng level I i ng elements, e.g. wooden
bl ocks, between the wall and the concrete i nto whi ch the
hol I ow bodi es are i nserted.
Advantageously, the wooden wall i s posi ti oned agai nst the
vertical part of the plate and/or angle and placed on the
curved part of the plate and/or angle.
After the f i nal posi ti oni ng of the wooden part, it will be
fixed with the devi ce accordi ng to the i nventi on usi ng
f asteni ng el ements, e.g. screws or nail s. Ina further step,
the space between the base and the i nteri or of the hol I ow body
is fill ed with a hardeni ng mat er i al , e.g. B. cement mortar or
similar.
The i nner surf ace of the hol I ow body i s al so grooved and/or

Fi gures 7a and 7b show how the connect i ng devi ce 320 can be
modi f i ed dependi ng on the component 201 with wood content and
al so dependi ng on the posi ti on and size of the f i rst component
200 made of concrete or similar and the position of the hollow
bodi es 101.
Figure 8a shows a further connection devi ce 340 for a further
embodi ment of the connect i on system accordi ng to the
i nventi on. The connect i ng devi ce 340 has at I east two bases
342. These bases are each i nserted i nto an i nteri or 121 of a
lo hol I ow body 101. Advantageously, these bases 342 have a f i nal
bend and hol es 343 at t hei r respective free ends, and the base
342 can al so have a long bend in the longitudinal direction.
These properti es ensure better stability of the foot and
better i ntegrati on i nto the filli ng materi al that fills the
space 121. The at I east two bases are connected to a pl ate 344
of the connect i ng devi ce 340, with whi ch a component 201 i s
connected to at least one wooden part/layer by screws and/or
nail s and advantageously al so forms the rebate for the second
component 201.
Numerous van i ants and suggest i ons can be provi ded for the
scope of protecti on of the subj ect matter accordi ng to the
i nventi on and accordi ng to the f ol I owi ng cl ai ms. The order of
the i ndi vi dual steps of the met hod accordi ng to the i nventi on
can be varied without goi ng beyond the scope of the i nventi on.
