Claim lst In combination with a burnishing tool H operated lengthwise of the last a carriage 5, to rock in line therewith bearing on a frame P supporting the same and moving in line thereto, and a frame u suspended from said carriage and vibrating laterally to its line of motion having a suitable jack V for supporting the boot, whereby all parts of the shank and top piece can be brought to the action of the burnishing tool and the jack moved clear of the tool. 2nd A carriage S to rock longitudinally and a frame U suspended thereto, vibrating laterally to such motion, and a burnishing tool A depressed by a treadle K having a spring connection and springs for lifting the burnishing tool and treadle simultaneously. 3rd The frame P supporting the carriage S and frame U and jack V having a curvilinear pivotal motion when withdrawing the same, to allow the placement and removal of the boot from the last. 4th The last S1 having pivotal motion on the jack V by means of the rod p. 5th The last S1 having a hinged joint S connecting the heel and foot pieces for the placement and removal of the boot therefrom without straining. 6th The sliding bolt W for securing the last in line with the burnisher.
