English Abstract

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE

This invention relates to a fishing net, and more
particularly to a fishing gadget which executes the fast
fish-catching technique and possibly the fastest among the
known fishing nets. The fishing gadget comprises a net having
a wide mouth, a flexible tube connected around the mouth of
said net, means for inflating said flexible tube to effect
the buoying up of the mouth of said net to the water surface,
and including a plurality of rings uniformly spaced apart
and secured around the mouth of said net and a hauling cord
threaded through said rings for closing the mouth of said net.
It may include a control cable, one end of which is secured
to the mouth of said net. In another aspect the specification
discloses a fishing gadget comprising: a net having a wide
mouth, a flexible tube connected around the mouth of said net,
said tube having its two ends connected to opposite ends of
a metal tube, said metal tube having an inlet valve and an
outlet valve, means connected to said inlet valve for inflating
said flexible tube to effect the buoying up of the mouth of
said net to the water surface, and including a control cable
one end of which is secured to said metal tube.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive
property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. A fishing gadget comprising: a net having a wide
mouth, a flexible tube connected around the mouth of said net,
said tube having its two ends connected to opposite ends of a
metal tube, said metal tube having an inlet valve and an outlet
valve, means connected to said inlet valve for inflating said
flexible tube to effect the buoying up of the mouth of said
net to the water surface, and including a control cable one
end of which is secured to said metal tube.

2. A fishing gadget as defined in Claim 1 including
a plurality of rings uniformly spaced apart and secured around
the mouth of said net and a hauling cord threaded through said
rings for closing the mouth of said net.

Description

Note: Descriptions are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

1()6'~30~

This invention relates to a fishing gadget which
is intended for achieving fast fish-catching.
A fisherman is always in a desire to make a big
catch, but he becomes disappointed when he can catch only
little, if at all, using current fishing equipment and tools.
This invention seeks to provide a fishing gadget which may
avoid such disappointment.
According to this invention there is provided

a fishing gadge* comprising a net having a wide mouth, a
flexible tube connected around the mouth of said net, said

tube having its two ends connected to opposite ends of a
metal tube, said metal tube having an inlet valve and an
; outlet valve, means connected to said inlet valve for inflating
said flexible tube to effect the buoying up of the mouth of
said net to the water surface, and including a control cable -
one end of which is secured to said metal tube.
~ Whereas the prior art includes many devices
i intended to make fishing sure and effective, a gadget according

to this invention is intended to enable fast trapping without
harming small fish that need to be grown for future harvest;

in other words fishing can be made selective. The gadget is - -
suitable for both small and big fishermen on a selective basis,
and its use involves little human effort to trap fish and it
can be operated by only, for example, two people because of -
its simplicity.
In the accompanying drawings:
Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a fishing gadget
according to an embodiment of the invention, and

Fig. 2 shows portions of the gadget on an
enlarged scale.
Referring to the drawings, the fishing gadget
is generally designated by numeral 1 and can be manufactured

from any local and suitable materials. A flexible tube 3
made of rubberized nylon or any synthetic material extends
around the top of the gadget 1.
Flexible tube 3 is constructed in a circular
shape with both ends secured to a metal tube 4 by means
of fittings 17. The metal tube 4 includes a fixed studded
ring 18 through which a cable 9 is attached by which control
is made possible from a boat. The metal tube 4 also includes
a built-in inlet valve 5 and outlet valve 6 for inflating
and deflating flexible tube 3 respectively. Inflation is
effected on switching on a pressure tank 8, filled with air
or CO2 connected to the inlet valve 5 through an air hose 7.
A circular net 2 is hung from around the flexible
tube 3 by means of cords 10 and 14 to 16 which are fixed at
regular spaced distances as shown in Figure 2. The net 2 is ;
attached directly to cord 15 which is secured via cords 14 and
16 to rings 12 which are attached to safety hooks 11 bound to
cord 10 attached to the flexible tube 3 with regular spaced
knotted binds.
The fishing gadget is operated by at least two
persons with a main boat that carries the gadget and is
responsible for dropping and controlling the gadget, by
cable 9, at a desired depth and distance on an intended spot,
in the absence or presence of water currents. A shuttle boat
is complementary in the operation for it is designated to
provide a lighting effect to attract fish to a position just
above the center of the fishing gadget. The flexible tube 3
is then inflated at a calculated speed by releasing compressed
air from the tank 8, so that the filled flexible tube 3
speedily buoys the net up to the surface of the water. A
catch is completed by deflating the flexible tube 3 when the
net is at the surface and pulling a hauling cord 13 that

passes through the rings 12 to close the mouth of the net 2.
The flexible tube 3 is sufficiently heavy
that when deflated its weight and that of the metal tube 4,
safety hooks 11 and rings 12 serve to sink the net.
Whilst only a specific embodiment of the
invention has been described, many modifications can be
made thereto without departing from the scope of the
appended claims.
