English Abstract

ABSTRACT
A standard through-flow grain harvester consists of
components for picking up lodged crops, cutting, feeding, treshing,
separating grain from straw and cleaning.

In this invention, pneumatic plant deflectors and pneumatic
plant dividers may lift and deflect the plant towards an upper
stripping drum rotating counter clockwise; and a lower stripping
drum rotating clockwise. Both stripping drums may be fitted with
spirally arranged fingers. The stripped grain may be sucked by a
-suction fan into a bin fitted with an automatic door. The exhaust
from the suction fan may supply air to the plant deflector and plant
dividers. The air from the plant deflector and plant dividers may
be controlled in a manner which would prevent grain scatter on the
ground and facilitate collection of the stripped grain.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive
property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. A stripper-harvester for harvesting grain crops comp-
rising a treshing table with a pneumatic plant deflector; air dist-
ribution ducts; pneumatic plant dividers and upper and lower stripp-
ing drums fitted with spirally arranged fingers.

2. A stripper-harvester as defined in claim 1, in which
the stripped grain is sucked through a suction duct into a bin,
fitted with an automatic door, by a suction fan.

3. A stripper-harvester as defined in claim 1 and claim 2,
in which the exhaust from the suction fan may supply air to the
pneumatic plant deflector and pneumatic plant dividers.

Description

Note: Descriptions are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

SPECIFICATION

This invention relates to a stripper-harvester for
harvesting grain crops.

- It is common in through-flow harvesters to reap a grain
crpp by cutting the plant and moving the straw, with the grain
still attached, to the treshing mechanism where the grain is removed
from the straw and then cleaned. However, the amount of components
involved in this procedure" renders the through-flow harvester both
costly and cumbersome.

I have found that the manner in which grain is harvested
by a through-flo~ harvester may be improved upon by a stripper-
harvester. In a stripper-harvester grain may be stripped from the
plant and sucked by a suction fan into a bin fitted with an automatic
door. On leaving the bin the grain may be processed as in the through-
flow harvester. The pick up reel, cutter bar, header auger, paddle
; elevator, front and rear beaters~ cylinder, concave and straw walkers
may therefore be eliminated.

invention,

The stripper-harvester comprises a treshing table 1,
consisting of a pneumatic plant deflector 2; air- distribution ducts 3;
pneumatic plant dividers 4; an upper stripping drum 5 and a lower
stripping drum 6. Both stripping drums may be fitted with spirally
arranged fingers 7, shown in Figure 3A. Air from the pneumatic
plant dividers 4 may lift the plant, while air from the pneumatic
plant deflector 2 may force the plant onto the stripping drums 5 and 6.
Air from the plant deflector 2 and plant dividers 4 may be controlled
in a manner which would prevent grain scatter on the ground and
facilitate collection of the stripped grain.

The grain may be stripped from the plant by the upper
stripping drum 5 rotating counter clockwise and the lower stripping
drum 6 rotating clockwise. The stripped grain may be sucked through
a suction duct 8 into a bin 9, fitted with an automatic door 10, by
a suction fan 11. The exhaust from the suction fan 11 may supply
air to the pneumatic plant deflector 2 and the pneumatic plant
dividers 4 9 through the exhaust duct 12 and the air distribution
ducts 3. On leaving the bin 9 through the automatic door 10, the
grain may be processed as in the through-flow harvester.
