ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
An automatically activated air freshener composes a
housing and a door, a support board is suspended from a
top wall of the housing, an activating and securing
means is attached to the support board and comprises a
solenoid means with a sliding bar and a securing means,
the sliding bar is able to perform a downward movement
when the solenoid is electro-magnetically energized, an
activating head of a fragrance sprayer is engaged with
the securing means and actuated to spray by the
downward movement of the sliding bar.

I Claim:
1. An automatically activated air freshener comprising:
a housing having a front door and a support board
suspended from a top wall of said housing;
an activating and securing means fixedly attached
to said support board and comprising a solenoid means
and a securing means providing a guiding channel at a
bottom of said solenoid means, said solenoid means
comprising a rod capable of performing a downward
movement when said solenoid means is electro-
magnetically energized; and
a fragrance sprayer being disposed below said
securing means, said fragrance sprayer having an
activating head and a positioning block on a top
surface thereof, said activating head being shaped and
sized to be engageable with said guiding channel of
said activating and securing means, said positioning
block bearing against said securing means by rotating
said fragrance sprayer to prevent said sprayer from
moving out and to align said activating head with said
rod of said solenoid means, thereby said downward
movement of said rod enabling said fragrance sprayer to
spray.
2. An apparatus described as claim 1, wherein said
front door is convexly shaped and has a countersink
hole corresponding to said activating head to allow
said fragrance to spray out and a transparent window to

- 6 -
show the quantity of fragrance.
3. An apparatus described as claim 2, wherein said
front door providing a LED indicator to show when said
fragrance is spraying and a starting button to actuate
spraying manually.

Title: Automaticall~ SPraYin~ Air Freshener
BACKGROUND OF T~E INVENTION
This invention relates to an automatically
activated spraying air freshener. Conventional an air
0~ fresheners are disposed in lavatories, meeting rooms,
ect. The function of the air freshener is to eliminate
unpleasant odors and to spray a pleasant perfume by
dispersion of a fragrance. However, in a closed chamber
or a unventilated room filled with a heavy unpleasant
odor the operation of the air freshener is restricted,
and the room will remain unpleasant. If the fragrance
could be sprayed in the air, then even in a
unventilated area the disagreeable condition would be
readlly improved.
1;5~ 5UNMARY OF THE INVENTION
The lnvention concerns an automatically activated
; spraying air freshener which includes an activating and
securing means and a fragrance sprayer. When a solenoid
means of the activating and securing means is electro-
20 magnetically energized, a rod of the solenoid means is ;
` ~ moved down to actuate the sprayer to spray fragrance to
el~imi~nste odor in a room where the freshener is
disposed.
It is a primary object of this invention to
2~ provlde ~an automatically spraying air fresher to ~-
perlodlcally spray fra~rance .
: ~ ,

2~29~
It is another object of thls invention to provide
an automatically spraying air freshener which could be
operated manually.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWIN&S
05Fig. 1 is a front view of the freshener of the
invention with a partial cross-sectional view of the
solenoid means wherein the front door is removed for
clarity purpose and the fragrance sprayer is in a ~ ~-
disengaging position;
10Fig. 2 is a perspective view in accordance with
the present invention wherein the front door is
opened; and
Fig. 3 is a perspective view in accordance with
the present invention illustrated the fragrance spra~er
and the sliding bar outside the housing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Referring to Fig. 1, a spraying air freshener in
accordance with the present invention comprises a
housing, designat~edi bylnumeral 1, and a hinge 10 to!
connect with a front door (not shown). A support board
20 is suspended from a top wall of the housing 1.
An activating and securing means comprises a
solenoid means and a securing means. The solenoid means
~includes a solenoid 6, a top and bottom plate indicated

as 50 and 5, and a sliding bar 7 . The top and bottom
plate 60 and 6 have a central hole, respectively; the
diameter of the central hole is slightly greater than
that of the sliding bar 7. The solenoid 6 is positioned
05 between the top and bottom plate 50 and 5 and aligned
with the central hole. The sliding bar ~ has a nut at
the upper end and the length of the bar is greater than
the solenoid 6, so that the bar 7 can be inserted
through the holes of the top and bottom plates 50 and 6
as well as the solenoid 6. Such a solenoid means is
fixedly attached to the supporting board 20 with the
top and bottom plate 50 and 6 thereof.
A securing means is composed of a pair of securing .
plates 4 and narrow L-shape plates 41. The securing
plates 4 have two parallel flanges along the downward
edge and a fixing flange at another end of the opposite
side, respectively. The secur~ng plates 4 are fixedly
mounted oppositel~ under the bottom plate 6 of the
solenoid means with the fixing flange thereof, the L-
shape plates 41 are fixed to the respective inner side
of the securing plates 4 as well as the bottom plate ~
and aligned to the central hole of the bottom plate 6 -
`~` ; of the solenoid means. Thus, a guiding channel is
formed under the solenoid means.
25A fragrance sprayer 3 is provided with an
- activating head 31 and a positioning block 32 thereon.
The activating head 31 is shaped and sized
.:

corresponding to the guiding channel, so that the
activating head 31 is engageable with the guiding
channel. Referring to Fig. 2, to insert the fragrance
sprayer, the positioning block 32 is positioned beside
05 the securing means, and after pushing the activating
head 31 into the guiding channel, the spra~er is
rotated to bear the positioning block 32 against the
securing means.
The solenoid is electrically connected through a
controller (shown with a dotted line) to a power supply~
(not shown); and a LED indicator 14 and a starting
button 15 are fixed to the front door and electrically
connected to the controller. While the solenoid is
i actuated by either the controller or the starting
button~ and electro-magnetically energized, the
inductive coil 6 will push the bar 7 downward to press
and~actuat the activating head 31 of the sprayer.
Further, a front door is provided with a
countersink hole 2 to allow the fragrance be sprayed
out; and a transparent window 13 for checking the
quantity of the fragrance; and a lock means 16 to lock
the door; and a sponge cushion 2.
While replacing the sprayer, it just has to be
rotated the sprayer to remove the positioning block and
disqngage~the activating head from the guiding channel
b~;pulling the sprayer outwardly.
