"HOCKEY STICK - RECYCLED, RE-MANUFACTURED, RE-USED"
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
This inven-tion relates -to the re-manufacture and re-use oE broken wood
hockey stick material ra-ther than having-this material placed in landfill sites.
In particular the shaft materlal will be diverted from land-fill sites and re-
manufactured for consumer re-use. As an example which is not -to be considered
limiting, the recycled material may be used in the manufac-ture oE furniture,
outdoor furniture and household products. Statistics Canada~indicates tha-t more
than Eive mill:ion sticks were manuEactured in Canada in lC~86.(last available
data)

SPECIFICATION
Th:ls invention relates to the manuEacture oE household and consumer
products which use sol:Ld wood as a component part.
In the past it was common Eor household and consumer products to use new:Ly
manuEactured wood components and more recently solid wood has been replaced by
other products such as plast:Lcs and metals. EnvLronmenta:l awareness ls now such
that consumer's are anxlous to use recyclecl and sustainable products whenever
possible.

I have concluded that the on-going demand for household and consumer
products, heightened environmentalism, a substantial supply of raw material in
the Eorm of recyclable wood hockey s-ticks all suggest that benefits from-the re-
manu-facture of this recyclable wood product could be realized. Recycling
programs possibly with the assistance of Minis-tries of Environment and Recreation
and Municipalities could be used to accumula-te the raw material supply.
