DEVICE FOR PRODUCING SPACE CHARGE IN ATMOSPHERE
ABSTRACT
The invention relates to electrical engineering.
The device for producing a space charge in the
atmosphere comprises an electrode made in the form of a
wire (1) secured on supports (2) above the earth surface
(3) and connected to a high-voltage source. The wire (1)
is in the form of a plurality of parallel lines over an
area limited by a circle with a radias R, in which case
the length L of the wire (1) within this area is selected
from the condition of satisfying the ratio L> 3R.
The device is intended essentially for dispersion
of clouds and fog.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

CLAIMS
1. A device for producing a space charge in the at-
mosphere comprising an electrode made in the form of a
wire (1) secured on supports (2) above the earth surface
(3) and connected to a voltage source providing on the
wire (1) of a potential of the same polarity relative
the earth potential and at least equal to a critical
value of the voltage at which a corona discharge appears
around the wire (1), c h a r a c t e r i z e d in that
the length L of the wire (1) distributed over an area within
a circle with a radius R is selected from the condition
of satisfying the ratio L> 3R.
2. A device for producing a space charge in the
atmosphere, according to Claim 1, c h a r a c t e r i z e d
in that the wire (1) is distributed over an area within
a circle with a radius R = R0, where R0 is the radius
of screening the electric field in the atmosphere.
3. A device for producing a space charge in the
atmosphere, according to Claim 1, c h a r a c t e r i z e d
in that the wire (1) is stretched in the form of a
plurality of parallel lines.
4. A device for producing a space charge in the
atmosphere, according to Claim 2 or Claim 3, c h a -
r a c t e r i z e d in that the wire (1) is suspended
from supports (2) having different height, the different
in the height of the supports (2) from 1 to 400 m.
