Description
of the invention having as tit}e:

ARMOURED VENETIAN B~IND FOR ~IINDûWS OR THE, LIKE

10 At present the socal}ed Venetian Iblinds with strips that can be oriented andwrapped are useful only ~o regulate l;ght and air withou~ having any
defensive force.
The conceived device puts into effect for the first time a "Venetian blindl'
that, together with the merit of allowing the best v~sibility and airing. is an
15 ef~ective defence.
1n faet, its: slats, produced with steel strap of di~ferent thicknesses, are
able ~o resist to breakirlg, lif~ing,: cutting~ perforation, prevenling from
intrusion in:the premises.
Mechanical de~ice and workin~g process.
20 The VenetiaTI blind, that can be applied anywhese, works with capstan
control mecharlisms with~a flyillg rod and an electric engitle already on the
market that are insene~ :inside a box (Fig. 2 N. 1) applied at the ceiling

The mobile part of ~he guide (Pig. 5 N. 6) i~ milled to create notches SFig.
39 6 N. 7) used to regulate the inclination of ~he s}ats.
The sections produced in the guide by the creation of the notches have
holes that are closed with nylon plugs (32).
5 The guides have two grooves (11) where nylon buffers for sealing the
slats are inserted. , _
The Venetian blind can assllme three positions:
A) Total closing. After the opening of the guides (Fig. S) the slats (3)
are placed vertically by the fillets (Fig. 8, 10, 11 N. 25, 27) and are
blocked in this position by the closing of the guides (Fig. 2 N. 4)
with the insertion of ~he bolts (13).
B) Half closin~. The opening of the guides sets the slats free allowing
the commands to run the fillets (Fig. 8, 11, 13 M. 25, 27) and to
place them in horizontal position.
15 - The subsequent closing of the guides with the Ibolt (13) stops all the
slats inside the notches which have a horizontal base and an oblique
upper part (Fig. 6 N. 71 to allow the inclination of the slats in the
wanted angulation (~;ig. 69 ~
C) ~ - OnCe opened the guides the tillets (25, 27) plaee the
slats in horiwn~al position (Fig, 1, 12, 13); then the capstan in the
box (1~ rolls up the two ~teel ropes (23) linked to the first slat pulling
up all the other slats:un~il they are gathered under the box ~Fig. 3).
As the total o~ning of the Veneeian blind e~cludes the need of
de~ense, the guides remain open in order to allow the immediate
~owering of the slats.

The slats of the Ven~tian blind are in mould metal and their ends are
curved:(i5~ for a perfecl coupling and to prevene the penetration of the
rain7 in the lateral sides they have strengthening bend~ (16) to contain the
: 30 ' supp~ting profiles of the inner sheating ~Fig. 8, 9 N. 17, 1~) that
contains: the two heads of a cl~rved sheet made of tempered steel ~Fig 8, 9
~. 2û) whose coins also~support the walls of the slat, the cut-proof s~el
round ~Fig. 8, 9 N. 19) that is inserted in the profile (17) and is used also
as a~le-tree for the hinge of the central fillet (Fig. 8, 10 N. 25), the steel
tube (Fig. 8, 9 N. 21~ that is inserted in the profile (18) and that in its
ends ~eceives the cylinders (31~ for the pins screwing ~3~) that couple the
slats (3~ to the lateral guides (4).

W~ g4/01650 ~ 5 ~ 3 Pcr/~3/~oo64

The slats ar~ linked by tempe~ed stainless steel fillets (Fig. 8 N. 2S, 26,
27) that synchronize their movements. A late~al fillet (Fig. 8 N. 26~ links
the basis of the slats to which some pins are fixed (30); these pins go
trough its eyelet and the special spacer (Fig. 9 N. 26, 29).
S The other lateral fillet (27) is fixed with a ~crew to the plug (22) using a
spacer ~Fig. 9 N. 27, 28). ~
For the large si~ Venetian blinds, instead of this lateral fille~ (27),
central fillets (Fig~ 8, 10, 13 N. 25) are applied; they also prevent from
opening Qf the slats.
10 The various pieces (3, 4, 5, 6, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21) are produced in long
profiles theh cut in the required sizes.
In the ends of the steel tube (21) the cylinders (31) a~e inserted and then
blocked with the punching of the ~ube above their notches or with electric
welding.
15 - The tube (21) is inserted in the profile (18) while in the other supportingpro~lle ~17) the steel round is inserted (19). In the mentioned profi~es (17,
18) now the heads of the curved sheet ~20) are inserted.
Now the pre-arranged inner~ sheating is inserted inside~he slat (3) whose
ends are closed with metal plugs (22) fixed with a screw (Pig. 9 N. 353.
20 Now the slats are lined up :on a table alld the pins are in~erted (3~); after:~ ~ having :put the overlapped eyeléts of the fillets ~26), the ~pacer (29), ~he
: plug ~22), ar~ screwed~dowD in the cut sc~ew groove of the cylinder ~31~s~ngly linking all the~parts (Fig. 9). The overlapping eyelets of the other
fillet (Fig. 8, 9, ~ N~. 2ï~are inserted in the spacer (28~ and fixed with a
5 screw to the plug (22).~
The eyelets of the It~ing ~ropes are screwed down to the plugs of the first
inferior slat (Fig. 9,;~ 1; N. 23). If the central fillets (25) are applied
instead of: the later~ ones (27), in the slats alrçady eontaining the inner
sheating,~ but without :the~ steel :r~und (19), the notche~ (33) are made to
30 ! receive thel two p~s:of:~the~fillets (25) that are then passed trough and
joined ~y the:steel round (1:9~ inserted in the profile (17)~ The milling area
(33) of the slats ~3)~ is~ pointed out in figures N. 10 and 13 and has the
same width of the fillet t~at~it receives.
After completing the c~mposition of the slats (3) the heads of the piilS (30)
35 are inserted in the; lateral :guides (4), then the box (13 is applied, linking
the bolts (13j, lhe fillets~ (25, 26, 27) and the ropes (23~ to the relating
commands inside the~ box (1).

After the installation of the Venetian blind in its premise, the guides (4)
and the bo~ (1) are fixed to the lateral walls and to the ceiling with strong
screws. On the windows sill a small plinth is fixed (Fig.8 N. 24); it
improves the linking of the first slat witb the base.
