English Abstract

The finger grooved hockey stick shaft has curved grooves sanded
into the handle of the hockey stick. These grooves are on the down
side of the shaft. The curved finger grooves provide for an improved
top hand grip on the shaft of the stick. The curved grooves can be
used on all wooden hockey sticks, including goalie sticks.

SPECIFICATIONS
This invention relates to sports equipment, more precisely a
hockey st i ck .
A problem with hockey 3tick3 i3 that the 3urface of the stick i5
3mooth which ciln c~u3e the 3tick to slip from the pLayer's grasp.
Thi3 smooth surface can al30 hinder i~ player's puck handling ability
a3 a result of a poor gra3p of the hockey 3tick.
I have found that the3e advantage3 may be overcome ~y u3ing a
wooden hockey 3tick 3haft with curved finger grooves 3anded into the
downward 3ide of the shaft. A player's top hand con3tantly gra3p3 the
top of the 3haft, therefore the curved finyer grooves provide for a
firm grip that reduces the chance Qf the stick 31lpping out of the
p I ayer ' 5 gra3p .
