PACIFIER WITH CLEANING PROTRUSIONS
BACKGROUND OF THE IN~ENTION
Thé present invention relates to a p;acifier
having a base section and a s~cking or nipple section on
which are provided with a plurality of cleaning or massage
protrusions which ca~ be in the form of rings, lines or
dots so that when a baby sucks hard on the nipple section
, the same will deform; and when it is relaxed the nipple
section wi-ll resume its shape. $uch repeateq deformation
and resumption of the shape of the sucking dr nipple
section of a pacifier can keep the t-op of its tongue
cleaned and massaged at the same time, and make its mouth
muscles exercise too. Such pacifier readily remoyes food
residues in a mouth and particularly on the top of a tongue
when sucked and bitten by à baby, facilitating aimother in
keeping her baby's mouth in a hygienic condition without
using other cleansing tools.
As it is well known that in a baby nursing prdcess
in which foods, especially milk or food of the like, are
mainly fed by means of a milk bottle with a paçifier. Milk
or milk-related food becomes easily soured in mouth and is
bad for teeth becausè bacteria can propagate fast as a
result of residues sticked to thé teeth or the top of a
tongue of a baby.
A nursing mother usually uses a tooth brush, or a

cotton stick or a piece of gauzé, a tongue scrubber, etc.
to r,emove food residues in a mouth. Besides/ there are a
number of, in addition ,to a bare finger as shown in Fig.lb,
finger mounted cleasing tools also commonLy used to clean a
baby's teeth, tongue or mouth, as show~ in Figs.l,
lA,,lC,}D. This way of c}eaning a baby's mou,th can make it
frigh~ened ,and painful or uncomfortable.
SUMMARY OF THE~INVENTION
Therefore, the primary ~bject of the present
invention is to provide a pacifier having a plurality of
protruded`dots or rings around the sucking portion thereof
so as to permit a baby to cleanse its mouth or the top of
its tongue automatically when the pacifier is sucked and
bitten in mouth.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THElPREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Referring to Fig. 2, the pacifier of the present
invention is made of resilient materials such as silicone
or material of the like. on the sucking or niPPle sction of
21S3626
the pacifier are provided with proper protruded lines or
rings or dots 1. The pacifier has an énlarged base section
2 for preventing a baby from swallowing the same.-
Referring to Fig. 4A, when a baby sucks on thesucking or nipple section of the pacifier ~f the present
invention and makes the same slide inward. The sucking
section will be pressed slightly flat and extended into
deformat~on, as shown in Fig. 4B, by the tongue and the
muscle of the lower jaw, making the pacifier to come ç~ose
abutment against the top of the tongue. While--thè muscles
of the mouth of ? baby are relaxed, the pacifier, as shown
in Fig. 4C, will resume its shape. In the~ repèated process
of the pacifier deforming and resuming its shape, the
protruded ring, lines or dots, due to the resilience of the
pacifier, can scruh the residùes on the top of a tongue off
effectively ànd massage the same simultaneously.
