SUI~RY OF TH~ TION
~ccordingly, it is an ob~ect of t~e presef~l invention t~ provide a device for stori~ arld
ro~tjrA1~y ir~dividually dispensing ptinted products, il~ particular a rlewspaper or ma~aziXIe
~nding machirlc, which can be set up in buses snd railways, and which p~r~nits relnoval of only
one p~inted prod~ct from a ~ provided for this purpose for each amount of mGney
pald. It is a furthe~ object to provide a device that is eas~ to halldl~ by the ouyer of tbe
~ewspaper, is compact, Light, capable ~f being manufact~tred at low cost, and relati~ly
impervious to breakdo~vn e~en duc- to vi~ratio~s ca~sed by vehicles a~d trafftc.
The heart of the preserlt invention is the provision of a newspa~er or magazine ven~ing
machine which is of very sirnple co~ that consists of a holtsing havir~g at le~st on~ stack
region ar~d at least one drop shaft. In this cor{nection, a delivery unit is provided in ~e region
of the stack o~ printed products. I~G deli~er~ urlit consists, pr~ferably, of an electrically driYen
shaft ~n which at least o~e ~riction wheet rolLs, By means of the al least one friction wheel, the
top printed ~roduct ij pushed off by utilizatio~ of the cih~ IAI force of the wheel. It is
ui..~,_vu~ fc~r the stac3c of printed products to be arrange~ on an inclixLed hase, the ir~clirlation
risin~ in the direction of remo~al, which is fomled as the drop sha~t. Iu this way~ ~reater
assuranc~ as to the individualiz~ng of the ~rinted p~oducts is obta~ned.
~ pon pxoper irltroductiton of a coin ox a ~ " of coins which CO~ r ' ~ to ~e
price of a newjpaper or xnagazine, a control unit cor~ects a curreM which drives the gear motor
of the delivet~ ulM The ~xiction wheels start to r~ove and, utilizing the forceof f~iction, push
the top newspaper or ma~a~ine o~f the stack in a direction o~ karL~p~rt, ~meLy p~rallel to the
~Gld or to the bir~din~ of ~e print-ed product. Tke top printed p~iuct is pus~d off the stack
and under the force of gravity drops throu~ll ~e d~op shaft into a remo~al C~ provided
for catchix~ tlle proauct. In this con~ection, th~ printed product pasj~s ~n end switch which
then .' the curxe~ to the motor.

It is another advanta~e of the in~-entive de~ice that the housin~ for re~eiYing the stack of
prinkd products and the delivery u~it is not much Inr~r th3n the sta~k itself.
r. 1 ~, the invention has the isdva~tage that it is virtlta~ly trouble-free. Due to a
stable ~v,.~ " of the housing and thc dependable guidance of rhe deli~ery unit as a result
of tbe vertical ~aide rod, the device does not experienc~ any damage even, for installce, if
obj~cts are p~aced on it or someotle sits on it. Additionally, ~he apparatlts does ~ot p~oduce any
disr~bing noises.
Tlle apparatlls is suitable for use in bllses and 1ailwdys. In such a case, no ~her
probloms arise, since! for instancG, the bus dnve~ can take ~are of the de~ice, i.e. the fllir~ and
removal of the printed prodi~ct~i, the adjusting of the price, and the rernoval of r~oney.
The varioas fcatures of r~ovelty whach ~ ,, i ;,.. the invention are poir~ted out wi~
al;ly r~ the claims annexed to and folming a part of the disclosure. l:or a botter

Fig. 1 shows a rlewspaper vendin~ machine hr~vin~ a housing I which is cornected with
a coin receivin~ mec~anis~n 13 and a ne~,vspap~r removal ~ . The coin mechanism

A delivery ur~it 4 ir~clu~es an ele~tric motor ~ ~ith a drive shaft 6 on which two fricti~n
wheels 7 are mounted. I~e friction wheels 7 have a rough surface that contacts th~ printed
products. The r~ugh surface can be formed by sand adi~ered 3r embedded in the su~faco, or by
2 plurality of srnall needles arranlzed in the surfzce. ~hc dtlivery unit 4 is connected by â rod
element 17, via an e~e 12, to a vertical guide rod 11 and is tlms fastened to the guide ~od. T~e
