French Abstract

This invention is a container with its volume adjustable to the volume of the
content therefore minimizing the contact of the content with air as well as
minimizing storage space. This is very useful for food or medicine. The
container is slowly collapsed by hand as the content is used. A lip on top
allows
to place the fingers appropriately to do so. When a full volume is required,
pulling longitudinally on the top and the bottom of the container stretches it
to
its maximum size. It is reshaped in its fully open state after using all the
content to refill it up with other contents (food or other). The side walls
are
made of a plastic resilient material which deforms with a pressure from top to
bottom. The collapsing feature is accomplished with a series of creuses or
pleats in the material. When fully opened the creuses form a wide angle,
sideways. When fully closed, the creuses form a very narrow angle and lay
almost flat. In between, the creuses where no content is present are
collapsed; where there is content, it applies pressure against the walls of
the
container and prevents the creuses from collapsing. The container retains its
collapsed shape because the material will stay and the airtight cap prevents
any entry of undesired air to fill up the container. The bottom and lid are
shaped allowing stacking.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

What is claimed is:
1. a collapsible, extendible and recollapsible plastic container comprising a
bottom, an accordion wall and a airtight lid, the accordion wall being the
feature to collapse as the content of the container is used.
2. the container of claim 1 wherein gripping means shaped as protruding
small lips are provided at the top and bottom to allow ease of collapsing and
extension.
3. the container of claim 1 where the top and bottom are shaped
appropriately for easy stacking with stability.
4. the container of daim 1 wherein the wall has a thickness of between 2
and 12 mils.
5. the container of claim 1 wherein the top and bottom portions where are
located the lips, have a thickness of about 2 to 35 mils, in order to resist
forces of collapsing and fitting the lid.
6. the container of claim 1 with a decreasing diameter from top to bottom.

9
7. the container of claim 1 with an increasing diameter from top to bottom.
8. the container of claim 1 made of see-through material as well as colored
material, to match trends and fashion.

MÉMOIRE DE:SCRIPTIF DE L'INVENTION
CONTENANT Ä VOLUME VAR:CABLE POUR L'ENTREPOSAGE DE DENRÉES
INVENTEURE: LUCIE PARROT, ING.
figure 1 - Contenant étiré, illustré plein de bonbons .
(voir
figure 3)
livraison. Des contenants plus psaits peuvent être imbriqués à l'intérieur;
maximum);
l'ouverture. Le couvercle est alors placé et l'air excédentaire est chassé;
interne
et externe;
lavage et pour remplissage ultérieur;
