English Abstract

A thermal plastic combination compound consisting of regenerated
polypropylene and polyethylene blends with mixtures of unknown, unidentified
compounds that create an unexpected unobvious result of a said thermal plastic
that can
be drawn into shapes and the methods for producing the said thermal plastic
are
disclosed.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

CLAIMS Page1
The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege
is
claimed are as follows:
1- The method of producing a combination thermoplastic to which the union of
elements
or process steps cooperating to produce a unitary and practical result that is
not the
sum of the known characteristics of the elements or steps, that cooperate in
an
unexpected manner or cooperate in a known way to give an unobvious resulting
wood
like material that paint will adhere or bond, can be bent 180 degrees after
forming
without cracking splitting crazing or changing the surface appearance, can be
nailed
without splitting or changing shape, that can be drawn in a continuous flow of
the
said thermoplastic to shapes namely base board, floor planks, lattice, window
and
door frames, and other shapes that a person skilled in the art would derive
from this
disclosure and teaching.
2. The process of claim 1, in which said resulting stabilized thermoplastic
derived from
the disclosure and having components as shown in the "Ortech" attached report
number 98-J21-1422-1.
3. The process of claim1, in which the catalyst contains regenerated materials
of
polypropylene and polyethylene blends containing 7.8% of unidentified
compounds
namely as shown in the said "Ortech" report blended to a 50% by 50% mix of the
two said plastics. A person skilled in the art would derive from this teaching
other
blends that result in a said, stabilized thermoplastic that would infringe on
these
claims.
4. The process of claim 1, in which the catalyst contains at least one of
ultraviolet
stabilizers, pellets of colourant and foaming agents, lubricants, nucleates,
unknown
metals, unknown oxidants,
5. The process of claims 1, to 4, in which the mix thereof in combination with
the
method of process in a 3.5 "Prodex machine" general screw plastic extruder of
which

Page2
there are 6 heating stations consisting of 4 barrel zones and 2 die zones in
the said Prodex
machine namely ;
First barrel zone at the throat of the extruder 320 degrees Fahrenheit 160
degrees
Centigrade.
Second barrel zone 325 degrees Fahrenheit 163 degrees Centigrade
Third barrel zone 325 degrees Fahrenheit 163 degrees Centigrade
Forth barrel zone 315 degrees Fahrenheit 157 degrees Centigrade
First die zone at the gate 325 degrees Fahrenheit 163 Degrees Centigrade
Second die zone at the land 310 degrees Fahrenheit 153 Degrees Centigrade
The said thermoplastic claims 1,2,3,4, now extrudes from the machine and
enters a
specially designed suction chamber that is water fed at 50 degrees Fahrenheit,
10 degrees
Centigrade and then enters a series of said sizing dies in the cooling tank to
an
unexpected unobvious resulting said thermoplastic form said claim1.

Description

Note: Descriptions are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

CA 02249105 1998-10-09
SPECIFICATION Page 1
SPECIFICATION: A method for producing a thermoplastic of a compound
mixture of regenerated polypropylene and polyethylene blends with mixtures of
unknown unidentified compounds that have caused a result that is not the sum
of
the known characteristics of the elements or steps, therefore the elements or
steps
cooperate in an unexpected manner or cooperate in a known way to give an
uno6vious result.
The said thermoplastic is made of recycled materials of low density
Polyethylene,
Polypropylene, containing ?.8% of unidentified compounds, blended with
Polyethylene
to a 50% by 50% mix of the two plastics, to this is added, ultra violet
stabilizers, pellets
of colourant, and foaming agents. The analysis of the said thermoplastic
resins in the said
mix are set out in the attached report by 'Ortech".
It is then processed in a 3.5 inch "Prodex machine" general screw plastic
extruder. There
axe 6 heating stations involved in this process. The heat settings for each
station are as
follows:
First barrel zone at the throat of extruder 320 degrees Fahrenheit 160 degrees
Centigrade
Second barrel zone 325 " " 163 " "
Third barrel zone 325 " " 163 " "
Fourth barrel zone (last in the extruder) 315 " " 15'7 " "
First die zone station at the gate 325 " " 163 " "
Second die zone station at the land 310 " " 153 " "
The said thermoplastic mix now extrudes from the machine and enters a
specially
designed suction chamber that is water fed at 50 degrees Fahrenheit 1 d
degrees
Centigrade and then enters a series of sizing dies in the cooling tank to an
unexpected
unobvious resulting thermoplastic form.
The said thermoplastic overcomes known materials at the time of the invention
that turn
to a viscous liquid when heated as set out in the said method. The addition of
the said
unknown material causes the thermoplastic to remain in a plastic stage when
heated as

said. The known materials in the said mix are expected by experts in the field
to cause
the said material to congeal and solidify to a non-fluid in the said Prodex
extruder. 'The
said method creates an unexpected new product that can be drawn as said of
which is
wood like in texture, flexible to bends of 180 degrees, very resistant to
abrasion,
cracking, splitting, in that it can be nailed, screw drilled, sawed like wood,
and allows
paint to adhere to the surface unlike known plastics where paint readily peels
when
subjected to bends, or a hammer blow when being nailed.
