English Abstract

An apparatus for enlarging a penis comprises a base
member defining a first throughpassage and a longitudinal axis. An
extension member defines a second hollow throughpassage and is
engageable with the base member such that the first and second
throughpassages are aligned one with the other, and for selective
movement between an initial collapsed configuration and a plurality
of longitudinally fixed extended configurations. A locking pin
locks the base member and the extension member together in a
selected one of the plurality of longitudinally fixed
configurations. A looped cord is mounted on the extension member
so as to be engageable around the penis below the head. The
apparatus is put in place, while in the initial collapsed
configuration, with the base member against a user's pubic area and
with the user's penis in the first and second throughpassages. The
looped cord is engaged around the penis so as to grip it. The
extension member is directly manually moved by hand to a selected
one of the longitudinally fixed configurations, thereby causing the
looped cord to apply tension to the penis. The extension member is
locked in the selected configuration by the locking pin.

CA 02284439 1999-09-16
FIE?~D OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to devices for enlarging a
penis, and more particularly to devices for safely enlarging a
_-. penis .
BACRGROUND OF T8E INVENTION
lu Many types of devices have been tried over many years, indeed
over many centuries, to provide means for a male to permanently
enlage, and especially lengthen, his penis . One common method that
is typically used to help a male obtained an erection, and is also
used to attempt to lengthen the penis, is a vacuum type device,
such as those disclosed, for example, in U.S. patent 5, 624, 378,
issued to Baldecchi. Such vacuum devices are generally found to be
minimally effective, if effective at all.
One type of penis lengthening device that stretches the penis
U in order to lengthen it is a weight that is attached to the end of
the penis, such as the apparatus disclosed in U. S . patent 5, 599, 275
issued to France. This penis stretching apparatus comprises a
weight having two parts connected together by a hinge, with a
retaining ring to hold the two parts in a closed configuration.
1

CA 02284439 1999-09-16
Such weights for lengthening a penis are either ineffective, since
too little weight used, or conversely, if enough weight is used to
stretch a penis, there is a definite risk of injury to a penis.
,. Some devices, such as those described in U. S. patent 5, 707, 341
issued to Mathewuse, and U.S. patent 5,836,864, issued to Clark,
Jr . , combined both vacuum suction and weights to attempt to enlarge
a penis.
1G One other known prior art device comprises in a ring that fits
around the base of the penis against the pubic area, with left and
right extension arms extending outwardly from opposite sides of the
base ring, and terminating in a head portion. A rubber band is
mounted in the head portion through two holes therein, and extends
a short distance towards the base ring, so as to be slipped over
the penis immediately behind the head. The left and right
extension arms each comprise a first threaded rod attached to the
base ring, and a hollow rod slidably engaged over the threaded rod.
The hollow rod has an adjustment nut rotatably engaged thereon.
~0 The adjustment nut is also threadibly engaged on the threaded rod,
as is a locking nut. In use, the device is put in place with the
base ring disposed against the pubic area and the penis inserted
through the base ring and projecting between the two extension
arms, so as to extend toward the head portion of the device. The
and rubber band is then looped around the penis just below the head
2

CA 02284439 1999-09-16
in a snug~manner so as to not come off. The adjustment nuts are
then turned to push the hollow rods, and thus the head portion
outwardly, thereby tensioning the penis. The lock nuts are then
tightened against the adjustment nuts.
This device is cumbersome to use, and it requires frequent
adjustment. Further, it does not permit the user to apply direct
tension to the penis -- -- or in other words, the user indirectly
applies tension to the penis by manipulating an included mechanism,
1C? namely the nuts and two-piece rods. Tension is applied to the
penis by rotating the adjustment nuts, which generally leads to a
less than optimal tension being applied to be penis.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a penis
'1'~ extender that is not cumbersome to use.
It is another obj ect of the present invention to provide a
penis extender that does not require frequent adjustment.
~e It is an object of the present invention to provide a penis
extender that permits a user to apply direct tension to his penis
in order to achieve optimal tension.

SUGARY OF TSE INVENTION
In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there
is provided a novel apparatus for enlarging a penis, the apparatus
.. comprising a base member defining a first throughpassage and a
longitudinal axis. An extension member defines a second hollow
throughpassage and is engageable with the base member such that the
first and second throughpassages are aligned one with the other,
and for selective movement between an initial collapsed
1~~~ configuration and a plurality of longitudinally fixed extended
configurations. Locking means are provided to lock the base member
and the extension member together in a selected one of the
plurality of longitudinally fixed extended configurations.
Gripping means is mounted on the extension member so as to be
engageable around the penis below the head. The apparatus is put
in place, while in the initial collapsed configuration, with the
base member against a user's pubic area and with the user's penis
in the first and second throughpassages. The gripping means is
engaged around the penis, the extension member is directly manually
20 moved by hand to a selected one of the longitudinally fixed
extended configurations, thereby causing the gripping means to
apply tension to the penis, and the extension member is locked in
the selected configuration by the locking means.
4

CA 02284439 1999-09-16
In accordance with another aspect of the present invention,
there is provided a novel method of enlarging a penis comprising
the steps of engaging a base member and an extension member one
with the other in an initial collapsed configuration; placing the
engaged base member and extension member in place generally around
the penis with the base member against a user's pubic area;
engaging a gripping means mounted on the extension member around
the penis below the head; directly manually moving the extension
member by hand to a selected longitudinally fixed extended
l~~ configuration of the base member and the extension member, thereby
causing the gripping means to apply tension to the penis; and,
locking the base member and the extension member in the selected
longitudinally fixed extended configuration.

L~ DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED Eb~ODID~NT
Reference will now be made to Figures 1 through 5, which show
a preferred embodiment of the apparatus for enlarging a penis,
according to the present invention, as indicated by the general
20 reference numeral 20. The apparatus 20 comprises a base member 30
defining a first hollow throughpassage 32 and a longitudinal axis
"A". In the preferred embodiment, as illustrated, the base member
30 comprises a hollow cylinder made from a plastic material such as
acrylic. All off the corners and edges are preferably rounded for
7

CA 02284439 1999-09-16
purposes of comfort and safety. The base member terminates at its
lower end in an expanded peripheral lip 36 also for the purpose of
comfort. The base member 30 includes a pair of opposed access
notches 38 for permitting more ready access to the user' s penis
_. once the apparatus 20 is in place, as will be discussed in greater
detail subsequently.
An extension member 40, also preferably comprising a hollow
cylinder from a plastic material such as acrylic, defines a second
:~ ~'n hollow throughpassage 42, and is engageable with the base member 30
such that the first throughpassage 32 of the base member 30 and the
second throughpassage 42 of the extension member are aligned one
with the other, so as to permit a penis to extend through both the
first and second throughpassages 32,42. Preferably, the extension
15 member 40 is engageable in freely slidable relation with the base
member 30, for selected movement between an initial collapsed
configuration, as can be best seen in Figure 3, and a plurality of
longitudinally fixed extended configurations, one of which extended
configurations can be seen in Figure 4. The extension member 40
%e~ also includes a flange portion 43 and a shortened portion 45
disposed opposite said flange portion 43, which shortened portion
45 permits more ready access to the user' s penis once the apparatus
20 is in place, as will be discussed in greater detail
subsequently.

CA 02284439 1999-09-16
A locking means is provided to lock the base member 30 and the
extension member 40 together in a selected one of the plurality of
longitudinally fixed extended configurations. In the preferred
embodiment, as illustrated, the locking means comprises a first
'; plurality of apertures 34 in the base member 30, a second plurality
of apertures 44 in the extension member 40, and a pin member 50
having a shaft portion 52 and a head portion 54. The shaft portion
52 of the pin member 50 is engageable in a registered pair of the
first and second apertures 34,44. Preferably, the pin member 50
?0 fits snugly into the first and second plurality of apertures 34,44
so as to not unwantedly exit therefrom. In this manner, the
plurality of longitudinally fixed extended configurations comprises
discrete positions. Optionally, the pin member 50 may be tethered
(not shown) to one of the base member 30 and the extension member
1~ 40 in order to preclude a user from losing the pin member 50.
As illustrated, the first and second plurality of apertures
34,44 are each patterned as an colinearly aligned array, but may
also may be formed in other patterns. Also, as illustrated, the
20 apertures in both the first and second plurality of apertures 34, 44
are spaced equally one from the next, which spacing is preferable
but not mandatory. Further, the spacing of the apertures in the
first plurality of apertures 34 is the same as the spacing of the
apertures in the second plurality of apertures 44, for ease of
manufacturing purposes.
9

CA 02284439 1999-09-16
A gripping means comprising a looped cord 60 is mounted on the
extension member 40 so as to be engageable in looped relation
around the penis, preferably immediately below the head. The
looped cord 60 passes through an appropriately sized and shaped
aperture 46 in the extension member 40 and is retained in place by
means of a metal fitting 48 having a central throughpassage 49
shaped and dimensioned to engage the looped cord 60 in frictional
engagement. The looped cord 60 is adjustable in circumferential
length by means of pulling the cord 60 in the desired direction
W % through the aperture 46 until the desired loop size is reached, and
then sliding the metal fitting 48 along the looped cord 60 until
the metal fitting 48 is disposed against the extension member 40.
This adjustment is performed during use, as will be described in
greater detail subsequently.
Reference will now be made to two figures 6 through 10, which
show the apparatus 20 of the present invention being put in place
for use. In use, the apparatus 20 is put in place while in the
initial collapsed configuration, and with the shortened portion 45
~0 of the extension portion 40 aligned with one of the opposed access
notches 38, as shown in Figure 6, for permitting more ready access
to the user' s penis . The base member 30 is placed against a user' s
pubic area and the user's penis is entered into the first and
second throughpassages 32,42. As can be seen in Figure 7, the
2~~ looped cord 60 is engaged around the penis, immediately below the

CA 02284439 1999-09-16
head. The circumferential length of the looped cord 60 is then
adjusted such that the looped cord 60 becomes snug around the
penis, by means of pulling the cord 60. The base member 30 is then
rotated ninety degrees, with the apparatus 20 still in its initial
_. collapsed configuration, such that the shortened portion 45 of the
extension portion 40 is no longer aligned with one of the opposed
access notches 38, although there may be some overlap. What is
important that the base member 30 is rotated so as to align the
first plurality of apertures 34 in the base member 30 with the
1C~ second plurality of apertures 44 in the extension member 40, as can
be seen in Figure 8. As indicated by arrow "B" in Figure 9, the
extension member 40 is directly manually moved by hand (not shown)
to a selected one of the longitudinally fixed extended
configurations, thereby causing the gripping means, namely the
i': looped cord 60, to apply tension to the penis. The extension
member 40 is then locked in the selected configuration by the pin
member 50 engaged in a registered pair of the first and second
apertures 34,44.
As can be seen in the above described Figures, the present
invention also teaches a method of enlarging a penis comprising the
following steps : ( 1 ) engaging a base member 30 and an extension
member 40 one with the other in an initial collapsed configuration;
(2) placing the engaged base member 30 and extension member 40 in
place generally around the penis with the base member 30 against a
11

CA 02284439 1999-09-16
user's pubic area; (3) engaging a gripping means 60 mounted on the
extension member 40 around the penis below the head; (4) directly
manually moving the extension member 40 by hand to a selected
longitudinally fixed extended configuration of the base member 30
_. and the extension member 40, thereby causing the gripping means to
apply tension to the penis; and, ( 5 ) locking the base member 30 and
the extension member 40 in the selected longitudinally fixed
extended configuration.
In an alternative embodiment of the apparatus according into
the present invention, it is a contemplated that the base member
could actually be made in two longitudinal pieces so as to
accommodate shorter and longer lengths of penises.
__. Other variations of the above principles will be apparent to
those who are knowledgeable in the field of the invention, and such
variations are considered to be within the scope of the present
invention. Further, other modifications and alterations may be
used in the design and manufacture of the apparatus of the present
2u invention, and in the method of the present invention, without
departing from the spirit and scope of the accompanying claims.
