Description

Title
= Magnetic Wall Decoration Device
Technical Field

= This invention relates to magnetic decoration devices, more
particularly to a magnetic wall decoration device.
Background Art

= There are many instances where it would be desirable to be
able to magnetically attach a rod to a wall or a ceiling in
order to display a decorative object or to hang an object.

= A number of patents disclose magnetic decoration devices with
different configurations.

= These prior art arrangements display only flat 2-dimensional
objects parallel to a wall. The so-called "refrigerator
magnet" comprises a permanent magnet made of Ferrite
(Ceramic) or Alnico (AlNiCo), and attaches directly to
ferromagnetic materials such as steel side wall of a
refrigerator. However, the magnetic attractive force of such
a permanent magnet is not strong enough to be able to attach
an object to the head of a nail in a wall.

Description of the Invention

= It is a primary object of the invention to provide a magnetic
decoration device which magnetically attaches to an exposed
or hidden nail in a wall.

= It is another object of the invention to provide a magnetic
decoration device which magnetically attaches to a hidden
wall angle in a wall.

= It is another object of the invention to provide a magnetic
decoration device which magnetically attaches to another
magnet through a window glass.

= It is another object of the invention to provide a magnetic
decoration device which magnetically attaches to a main tee
of a suspended ceiling.

= A magnetic decoration device comprises a disc-shaped rare-
earth magnet, a rod made of a light-weight material, one end
portion formed to securely attach to the disc-shaped rare-
earth magnet, and is horizontally placed in order to

1

magnetically attach to an exposed nail, a hidden nail, or a
hidden wall angle in a vertical wall, perpendicularly to the
wall. The magnetic decoration device may further comprise a
disc-shaped rare-earth magnet having the same surface area as
that of the magnet securely attached to the rod so that the 2
disc-shaped rare-earth magnets attach to each other through a
vertical window glass by means of a magnetic attractive
force. Another embodiment of the magnetic decoration device
has an end portion of the rod forming a hook, and is
vertically placed in order to magnetically attach to a
horizontal main tee of a suspended ceiling, perpendicularly
to the suspended ceiling.

Modes for Carrying Out the Invention

= The strong and focused magnetic field from a permanent magnet
made of Rare-Earth (NdFeB, SmCo, etc.) makes it possible to
magnetically attach a decorative object to the head of a
hidden nail or a hidden wall angle in a wall, even though the
nail or the hidden wall angle is invisible, placed behind a
few millimetres of plaster on a drywall, and covered with
paint and/or wall paper.
