English Abstract

The "Bird's Eye" is a putter designed to help align your club in the proper
shooting
position. A leveling device on the top of the putter head determines the
proper position.
By adjusting the club inward or outward the leveler indicates the proper club
position.
By having your club properly aligned you increase your odds of making the
putt.
A golf putter with a leveling device designed to increase shot accuracy.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

The embodiments of this invention in which property or privilege is claimed
are defined
as follows:
1. A device to be located on or in the head of a golf putter used as a visual
aide to
determine whether or not the putter head is level and is comprised of the
following
three main components: a balanced buoyant core, a volume of liquid, and an
outer
shell in which to contain the liquid and core.
2. A device as defined in claim (1) in which a target on the core aligns with
a target on
the shell while the head of the putter is level.
3. A device as defined in claim (1) or claim (2) in which a target on the
shell may
appear as a boundaried area.

Description

Note: Descriptions are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

CA 02299973 2000-02-16
Sometimes on the heads of golf clubs, in particular putters, lines are used to
assist the
golfer in aligning his/her putter head with the ball and the direction in
which he/she
intends the ball to travel.
In this invention a device ( The Bird's Eye Target Level ) is mounted on or in
the putter
head and will indicate whether or not the putter head is level. This will
increase the
ability of control the golfer has over his/her putter.
It is common for golfers to miss putts, sometimes as a result of tilting the
head of the
putter through impact with the ball. When tilting the putter head inward it
can result in a
pulling motion and the ball travels off the chosen line and between the golfer
and the
intended target. When tilting the putter head outward it can result in a
pushing motion
and the ball travels off the chosen line away from the golfer and the intended
target.
Without a device to indicate these mistakes a golfer may not recognize them
and possibly
repeat them throughout his/her game, adding strokes to his/her score total.

In drawings which illustrate embodiments of this invention Figure 1 shows the
top view
of the shell component (1) with target ring (2). Figure 2 shows the side view
of the shell
(1) with target ring (2). Figure 3 is the top view of the core component (3)
with target
circle (4). Figure 4 is a side view of the core component (3) with target
circle (4) and
counter balance (5).
Figure 5 shows the top view of the device installed on an example putter head
(the device
is indicating the head of the putter is level). Figure 6 shows the rear side
view of Figure 5
with liquid surface line (6). Figure 7 again shows the top view of the putter
with the
device indicating the putter head is level. Figure 8 shows the top view of the
putter with
the device indicating the putter head is tilted in an outward position. Figure
9 shows the
top view of the putter head with the device indicating the putter head is
tilted in an
inward position.
