English Abstract

A process for the production of heavy industrial hooks consuming
minimum material and production time in a cost saving measure
with improved quality.
Maximum quality is achieved by having the grain direction
following the shape of the hook

CLAIMS;

" The embodiments of the process in which an exclusive property
or privilege is claimed are defined as follows; "

1. Tools and technology for production of open die forging
single arm hooks comprising support tool, horizontally and
vertically rotating tools and the procedure for partial bending
and forge round section into final cone shape of the hook.
2. Tools as defined in claim 1, are set up: Vertically rotating
tools inclined at a ratio of 1:4, on the upper and lower die
tools and horizontally rotating tools on the support tool.
3. A process as defined in claim 1, is how to partial bending
rounded forged piece and transform round section in to cone
shape at the same time as bending the hook in right
dimension.

Description

Note: Descriptions are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

CA 02336235 2001-02-21
SPECIFICATION
Sketch. 2. Identifies the transformation from the original section of
the hook to the round section in the entire length. Each hook type
has different dimensions for L 1, L2, and L3, L4. and diameter for
D 1, D2, and D3 .
Operations; 1,2 identifies the bending of Rl and the initial bending
of R2 from sketch No. 1
Operations; 3,4 determine the initial bending which ensures the
final bending stage forces the curve in right direction.
OP. 5, forging the round sections to take on a finished form in the
sections of the hook. Tools must be inclined 1: 4 as in the finished
shape of the hook.

FUNCTION OF THE TOOLS IN OPERATION No 5.
The upper and lower tools inclined to a ratio of 1:4 must be rotated
to forge the curve of the hook over its entire length due to the
manipulator presses or hammers usually having movement in the
right angle to tools of the presses or hammers.
Rotation tools' incline at a ratio of 1:4 make it possible to forge the
round sections into a cone shape at the same time as bending the
hook in the right dimension.
The rotation of the tools is a manual procedure. The application of
the force during forging alters both the shape and dimensions of
the round sections of the hook without changing the mass. The
inclination of a 1:4 ratio over the length of the surface will cause a
different deformation resulting in a different amount of elongation
at each section of the hook.
The elongation of the material at point A will be longer than at
point B. The mass of the round and final formation are equal, the
forged part which will be bent by inclination of the tools will get
the exact dimension calculated for the type of hook required.
