English Abstract

This proposal for protecting a computer system is a multi-function design
in the areas of security, re-enforcement, and water protection.

A steel frame box encloses a computer case. However, the ultra-light
weight material of the frame structure only weighs about 8 to approximately 10
lbs. for a typical sized personal computer

Once secured to a vertical or horizontal surface such as a cabinet, floor,
or under a table, the unit becomes thief resistance, earthquake resistance,
and
even flood protecting. The construction design includes an air-space under the
computer case for a 3 to 4 inch clearance in the event of water flooding the
floor
of the computer room. An optional Plexiglas cover faceplate provides
protection
against unauthorized access to hard drive data.

An adjustable platform for the computer maybe raised or lowered
for customized cases. The feature permits different sizes of computers cases.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

Claims

1. The steel frame constructed of milled steel is bolted and braced with
anchors around the computer case which strengthens the corners thereby
acting as re-enforcement brackets despite its ultra-light weight.

2. Facts: Not only can it hold up a person of 150 lbs or more (330kg.) in
weight. But once secured to a vertical surface, floor, or under a table, the
unit becomes thief resistance and earthquake resistance.

3. Additional Plexiglas face-covering provides further data protection. The
reduction of stolen computers improves minimizes lost productivity.

4. The construction design includes an air-space under the computer case or
tower for a clearance space in the event of water floods the floor of the
room. The water would otherwise cause contamination of the
motherboard. This offers the Computer ]Owner more protection from
adverse elements.

5. The adjustable platform for the computer maybe raised or lowered for
efficiency. The resultant adjustment change fits many sizes of different
computers cases such as mini-towers, medium towers, and full sized
towers.

6. Pre-cut pieces in packages allowed for each carrying, quick assembling,
and simple and easy installation.

7. Wider computers can be fitted with added pieces in figure B (named
extenders) to fit wider then normal computers cases such as a MacIntosh
system.

8. Multiple colours provides colour-coding schemes if required in unique
situations.

9. Points: Any computer user can assemble the pieces of the steel-frame
easily.

10. Accomplishments: The Adjustable Computer System Lock Box is low
cost, light -weight, functional, and is a safe product to acquire.

11. Objective achieved: Prevention of damage to and thief of the computer
system improves the daily working lives of the computer users.

Description

Note: Descriptions are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

Specifications
1. Material Type: The material composition consist of light weight steel with
pre-
drilled holes throughout the length of the material. It is rated at a minimun
of 18
gauge thickness to 14 gauge for thicker material. It is shaped in the form of
a
right angle for much of the design except where flat steel is applied as
support
braces.
2. Material Size comes in 182.88cm (6 foot) lengths. Thus allowing the
inventor
to cut the pieces to any desirable size lengths and bundle the pieces into
containers as components for shipping purposes until the pieces are assembled.
A typical size is 43.18 cm.(17 inch) depth x 43.18cm(17inch) high x 20.32cm(8
inch) wide.
3. Classifications:
Grouped into usage type.
The Personal and SOHO category would include individuals and small
organizations whose group would not need a hard and rugged design for their
kind of need. Likely a 3.175cm x 3.175 cm. (1-1/4 inch by 1-1/4 inch), 18
gauge
construction, would meet the single computer user' needs.
The Commercial and retail category would involve groups in an environment
where there would be more activity and possible bumping of the computer
system. Likely a heavier metal such as 1-1/2 inch by 1-1/2 inch, 14 gauge
construction, for multiple computer units framed in groups for close
proximity.
4. Extensive description
The re-enforced metal supports allows the construction of this adjustable lock
box to support a 155 pound person. Pre-drilled holes in angle-iron material
allows
for easy line-up of holes for'/2 inch #20 bolts with square sockets holes.
Abundance of holes allows attachment of security cables connecting onto other
peripheral devices such a monitor, zip drive, scanners and / or printer.
Additional
cross brace re-enforces strength of the material.
5. Detail description of Drawings
Facts:
The body of the adjustable lock box is shown in Figure G (item named Cage).
The bottom of the adjustable lock box has a separate component in the shape of
a rectangle as shown in Figure G (item named Boot) The rectangle base is
secured to the flooring and the remaining upper portion is fasten by bolts to
the
base. When the bottom bolts are removed, the detachment feature enables the
system to be removed for emergency reasons such a threat of a fire.

6. Bolts and nuts of type #20 x I / 2 inch are suitable enough to provide the
security strength of this security device called the Adjustable Computer
System
Lock Box.
