Title of the invention
Portable anal Car-borne dual purpose LCD Screen holding device
Backgrnnnd of the Invention
Field of the invention:
The invention relate a kind of LCD screen holding device, especially
for the LCD screen to be installed and used in a car as well as removed
__ _... . . from the- car convenientlyfor mobile use. . _ .. .. . _
Nowadays the LCD screen installed in the cabin of motor vehicles
such as sedans, freight wagons, large and medium sized passenger cars
may provide video entertainment programs such as TV, DVD and game
etc. for passengers when connected with players, and even satellite
navigation for the driver when connected to GPS receiver. Proverbial
installation methods for fixing the LCD screen on the car are as follows: ,
1. Fixing it on the dashboard by a support block. The method requires
driving screws into the dashboard, which may damage it. Alternately, the
support block may be bonded by adhesive glue, but it would drop off very
soon for being stressed by the deadweight of the LCD screen all the time.
~t 2. Auto-ejecting LCD screen is a good design now, but it occupies the
position of the hi-fi equipment in the car. For a car having only one
position for hi-f equipment, installation of a player would leave no
position for this type of LCD screen. 3: In the technical scheme of the
separate patent "A kind of Sunlight Barrier for Car" (patent No.: CN
~ 012425078.7), the LCD screen is assembled within the sunlight barrier.
The sunlight barrier may be turned down when the .LCD screen is to be
viewed, and will be closed after viewing. It is quite convenient for use.
But the angle of view may be adjusted only in the vertical direction but
not in the horizontal direction, which can not meet the need for watching

of the passengers in some positions. 4. Recessed ceiling fixing devices for
LCD screen are widely used by car manufacturers. But the LCD screen
can not be removed for mobile use at the same time, since it and the
fixing block are anchored on the ceiling by screws in this case.
Summary of the Invention
The invenrion has disclosed a portable and car-borne dual-purpose LCD
jQ screen holding device composed of a LCD screen body, a clamp, and a
flexible connecting mechanism. When used in a car, the upper clamping
plate Z lies between the ceiling 21 and the sunlight barrier 20. The end of
the sunlight barrier 20 against the revolution axis 23 is held by the clamp
arid the LCD screen 4 is -secured on the sunlight barrier 20. The device
may fix the LCD screen on the sunlight barrier of the car conveniently,
easy in installation and dismantle, fast in structure. Th.e flexible
connecting mechanism 5 of the holding device makes it possible to adjust
the angle of the LCD screen in X and Y directions. When leaving the car,
the user may take away the LCD screen by releasing the clamp and
unplugging the cord, and the LCD screen will become a portable one. The
device will possess the function of video camera monitoring when the
video camera head 31 on the clamp is wired to the LCD screen 4.
Detailed Description of the Invention
The aim of the invention is to overcome the disadvantages of
exisfiing proverbial LCD screens, such as inconvenience in installation
and dismantle and breakage of the original structure of the car. It provides
a portable and car-borne dual-purpose LCD screen holding device, which
may fix the LCD screen on the sunlight barrier of the car conveniently,
easy in installation and dismantle, fast in structure, with functions of
dustproof and protection for the LCD screen.
The aim of the invention is realized like this: It consists of a LCD
screen body, a. clamp, and a flexible connecting mechanism. The clamp

and the LCD screen are connected each other in a flexible way. The
included angle of the clamp may be a sharp angle 8 with 0° ~ 8~ ~
45°or an
obtuse angle 0 with 160°<8<180. On the clamp is fixed a flexible
connecting mechanism, the other end of which is fixed on the housing of
the LCD screen. When used in a car, the upper clamping plate lies
between the ceiling and the sunlight barrier. The end of the sunlight
_ barrier against the revolution axis is clamped by the clamp and the LCD
screen is held on the sunlight barrier. The LCD screen body may be a
folding notebook LCD screen as well. In this case, the bottom side of the
housing of LCD screen is combined with the lower clamping plate into an
integer.
In the above structure, the clamp will hold the sunlight barrier
reliably. When the LCD screen is lowered for viewing, the center of
gravity will itiove- ~o behind the aXis of the sunlight barrier, thus the
~5 sunlight barrier will produce a thrust to turn up, resulting from the
deadweight'of the whole device by the lever effect of the sunlight barrier
and its revolution axis. At the same time, the ceiling will stop the sunlight
barrier and counteract the thrust and the whole device will be fixed on the
sunlight barrier without going down. When the LCD screen is closed, the
center of gravity will move to before the axis of the sunlight bari~ier, the
whole device with the sunlight barrier will drop slightly far the
deadweight of the whole device under the lever effect of the sunlight
barrier and its revolution axis. At the same time, the ceiling will press
against the rear part of the upper clamping plate and counteract the
weight, thus the whole device with the sunlight barrier will be fixed an
the sunlight barrier without turning down. Besides, the included angle
adopted for the clamp is very important. When the included angle of the
clamp is a sharp angle, a too large angle will make it hard for the clamp to
be inserted into the spacing between the ceiling and the sunlight barrier,
or only the edge of the sunlight barrier will be clamped even if it does be
inserted there, leading to a unreliable holding effect. When the included
angle of the clamp is an obtuse angle, a too small angle will make the
height of the clamp greater than the spacing between the ceiling and the
sunlight barrier and make it hard for the clamp to be inserted in.

The flexible connecting mechanism of the invention consists of
positioning seats, transverse axis and cylinder. The two positioning sets
are parallel to each other with their centers of circle on an axis. The
transverse axis is inserted between then. Because of the elastic
connection between the transverse axis and the positioning seat, when the
cylinder is inserted into the transverse axis and swings along the arc in ~'
direction around the transverse axis, the positioning seat and transverse
axis will produce an elastic resistance, which will make the LCD screen
connected by the cylinder stop at the angle stably, and even the bumping
during the travel of the car would not change the angle. The cylinder is
inserted into the transverse axis, and the LCD screen may be driven by
manual operation to rotate along the 36U° arc in X direction around the
cylinder. Actually th.e cylinder rotates in the circular hole of the
transverse
his arid locked in place by the screv~i. _
~5 Un the clamp of the invention is fixed a micro video camera head.,
which is flexibly connected to the clamp. The micro video camera head is
connected to the clamp by the hinge and may rotate along the 360° arc
in
X direction.
Advantages of the invention: The LCD screen may be easily fixed
on the sunlight barrier of the car and may be installed and dismantled
conveniently, without damaging the original structure and decoration of
the car. The angle is adjustable in both X and ~ directions. When leaving
the car, the user may take away the LCD screen by unplugging the cord
and releasing the clamp, preventing it from ding stolen. When it is to be
used, the only thing to do is to clamp the LCD screen on the sunlight
barrier and turn on the power. The location of installation is arranged near
under the ceiling of the car, flee from sunlight, which is good for
extending its service life. The device is folding, pretty in appearance,
dustproof, with the functions of a video camera monitor.

Description of the Preferred Embodiment
Referring to Figures 1 to 7. The specific structure is as follows: The
upper clamp 1 and lower clamp plate 2 are fitted outside the hinge 10 by
the torsion spring 3 and placed inside the upper clamp 1 and lower clamp
plate 2. One end of the torsion spring 3 presses against the upper clamp 1,
and the other end presses the lower clamp plate 2, forming a fixing clamp.
Insert the upper clamp 1 into between the sunlight barrier 20 and the
ceiling 2I. Open the clamp to hold the sunlight barrier 20 and fix the
clamp on the sunlight barrier 20, shown as Figure 1. The micro video
camera head 31 is connected to the upper clamp plate I flexibly by the
hinge 32, thus the camera head may take pictures inside or outside the car.
Fix the position seat 6 and 60 on the upper clamp plate 2 by turning
the screw I2 into the threaded hole on the upper clamp plate 2. The lid 15
is used to cover the positioning seats 6 and 60 and serves to present a
good-looking appearance. The transverse axis 7 is inserted into between

the two positioning seats 6 and 60, and the cylinder $ is inserted into the
transverse axis. Tighten up the screw I4 to lock the cylinder 8 in place.
The LCD screen 4 is locked with the nut 9 by the cylinder $, Thus the
LCD screen 4 is connected to the whole holding device. So the
assembling of the whole holding device is completed.
Operating principle: At the end against the revolution axis 23 of the
sunlight barrier of the windshield, insert the fixing clamp together with
the LCD -screen into the inner part and fasten it, let the upper clamp plate
1 lie between the ceiling and the sunlight barrier, thus the whole device is
clamped on the sunlight barrier Then turn on the power, adjust the view
angle up and down as well as left and right. Now the device is ready for
operation. After viewing, turn upwards the LCD screen and fold it with
the whole device. Since the transverse axis 7 is connected flexibly to the
_ . . . ._ .._ ~Sitia~~.ng seats ~..h arid--6b~ the LCD screen rinay ove~cvine
-the gravity in
swinging in Y direction and maintain in a certain angle without sagging.
Tightening and loosening the.bolt I 1 may adjust the elastic force.
When leaving the car, the user may take away the LCD screen by
releasing the clamp and unplugging the cord, and the LCD scieen will
become a portable one. The device will became a monitor when the video
camera head 31 is connected to the tail part of the upper clamp plate 1 by
the hinge 32 and the micro video camera head 3I is wised. to the LCD
screen; and turning the video camera head may rr~onitor the situation
inside or outside the car.
When the folding notebook LCD screen N is used as the LCD screen
body, the bottom side of housing 40 of the notebook LCD screen N will
be combined with the lower clamp plate into an integer by the screw 41
or the hinge 42. The notebook LCD screen N may swing in Y direction
or/and rotate in X direction by means of the transverse axis.
Evidently, the flexible connecting mechanism for connection of the
LCD screen may be of other structure, e.g. the cordon joint in the Rouble
Pigeons LCD screen available now in the market, and this remains within
the scope of the invention. Likewise, the clamp shall not be limited to a
torsion spring clamp, but it may be a leaf spring clamp etc. Either clamp
plate of the clamp may be connected flexihiy to the flexible connecting
